My netbook - a Toshiba nb305 - is inexplicably not accepting my password, nor that of my wife's who has a separate user account. We know the passwords we're inputting are correct, so have no explanation. We have ensured that the CAPS lock and NUM locks are off (and we've tried entering passwords with them on) so that's not the problem. I'm presently holidaying in Greece, and the netbook was working perfectly on the plane journey over here. Came to use it in the hotel, and it is having this problem. Tried starting in Safe Mode also but same problem occurs.
Windows 7, won't accept a password I set to it for my HP 620, though with a special character; which goes for Kar's1990 --that's the password. Password that used to work flawlessly in weeks I have had it in use though until today after coming back from my morning routine, to boot the system, to find out every time I try to write "'" to complete the password properly, it instead adds another black dot to the input field in which case the form ends like: Kar'as1990 instead.
The keyboard isn't Spanish though configured, to international English, so to give me the special character without a problem. To throw as well, I had some virus attack yesterday; but swept them immediately. Nevertheless, I don't know if that have something to do with the keyboard no properly writing the a with the accent I'm seeking it to input.
I have two computers, both use Windows 7, connected second computer to homegroup network but first one wouldn't connect to second. have now reloaded Windows on first computer due to other issues. Both computers see each other on network but neither will accept password to connect.
Machine has Windows 7 Ultimate. I recently changed the hard drive. When I went boot, the screen displayed "Enter Password ". This machine has never had a password and I am at a loss as to what is wrong. This machine has previously been running well for over six months. Any HD that I substitute (I've tried four) has the same result.
i inherited a laptop with window seven home edition and i cant access it because it has a password. The person who sent it to me unfortunately i cant reach him and i need to use it.Please help how i can access it.
I changed the administrator password. Since, when I start or restart Win7, I get a message saying that login or password is incorrect. I have to type in the new password each time.
The password he used when he first started up his laptop would show as he typed it but now it does not. It only shows dots as he calls them when he types. He wants it to show. Is there a setting that can be changed? I have been unable to locate that setting on my laptop to tell him how. Its windows 7.
getting past the windows 7 startup password on my laptop. It wasn't there before, but this morning I tried getting on and it won't let me enter safe mode or the boot menu. It's a black screen with a blue rectange that says "enter current password" I have tried doing the ctrl alt delete thing and F2, F8 and F12.. But nothing works!
In windows 7 with one account, how can I get the password screen after complete login and all programs start? I want to create password for my computer but I usually have downloads on uTorrent (set to start on Windows startup) and when there is windows automatic update, sometime windows restart by itself and uTorrrent starntt downloading again.I want to create password for my account but if I did, when windows restart(at I sleep or when I am away), the computer will stay on the login screen asking for password and no startup program starts.
I cannot access non-safe mode, and I'm pretty frustrated and not able to concentrate correctly. its a lot of steps for someone who just wants some answers. So, here it goes. (though It didn't Zip.)Windows 7 64 bit, original instal, full retail.
I installed Windows 7 x64 on my laptop a few months ago, so I'm the admin on that system. As I'm the sole user, I never enabled any sort of login; it just boots right to the desktop. Now I'm getting ready to take a trip, and I'll be packing the laptop in my checked luggage, so I think it would be a good idea to require a login password in case the laptop disappears. How do I enable that, and how do I disable it when I'm back home? As an aside, is this adequate security (assuming a strong pwd)? I assume someone would have to reformat the disk and reinstall Windows to make the laptop usable again, but what do I know?
I have a minor technical question I would love help on. I have the UAC on and log in as a standard user for protection. There are a few programs that I would like to run automatically when windows starts that require a password EVERY time I start windows, or if I select them manually. Is there any reason certain programs due to their permissions need an admin password to run and other don't?
I could not find the difference looking in the security section of properties comparing it with a program that runs as an admin. HELP! I would like to run these programs automatically as windows boots without typing in the admin password for each program.
just bought a new computer with windows7 home premium os, and it wont let me load my old adobe photoshop v5, is there anyway I can get it to be loaded?
[code] Four days ago I did a complete hard drive backup. On the 6th, and last disc I was told that it didn't properly close the session. 3 days ago something happened, while using Unlocker program to delete malware. My 2 user accounts would not open, until after I opened my admin account. So I decided to do a factory restore. I skipped the backup HDD, since I had just completed one the day before, and didn't was to chance backing up malware. After the factory restore completed, all was working ok. But when I tried to restore my HDD backup, the system said it was looking for a backup of May 15, 2011. I doesn't recognize my backup of 4 days ago.Is there any way possible to get Win 7 to accept the most recent backup??
Newly built computer, I'll update my specs in the profile shortly (done).Probably crashed 5 or 6 times.Crashed while gaming, crashed while not gaming, crashed while I was at the store.Could possibly blame xSplit for the crashes, as I can't remember if it's crashed while it isn't running.Different errors eachtime:DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL,PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (x2),UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP,KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.I removed one stick of RAM recently to test if it was bad, even though memory test didn't show any issues. All the crashes so far have been with both sticks. Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64 - the original installed OS on the system? I installed it, newly built computer. - an OEM or full retail version? It's an OEM version from one of my Dell computers.
- OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? A few days, it's newly built. - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) A few daydit: One dump didn't get included. It was at C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. It's roughly 500MB in size. Here is the results of running a WinDBG on it:[CODE]
I have an Acer that had Microsoft home Premium on it but no disks. I had to re install so I used the key that is on the sticker under the laptop but after installation I got the message that it wasn't the right key. So i followed the prompts that led me to a phone call to activate by giving a bunch of numbers that were sent to Microsoft and it still says invalid key. Their is no OEM key that I can find and I cant get recovery to come up. I have a copy of a Win 7 Home that I used to install but its not the original. Is their a way to use the original key somehow?
I have a non numeric proxy address that is working fine with iphone ios (manual proxy). I want to use this proxy on windows 7 but when i setup in internet explorer proxy, it doesn't work. I'm not able to get past the password login screen in Windows 7. It won't accept my keystrokes. I've tried doing a system restore, using F8 and using the last good configuration, booting from a Windows 7 CD, etc, with the same result.
I've just downloaded the "Windows Live Movie Maker" for Windows 7.
My MP4 video had no issues. However, Movie Maker won't accept my pre-recorded MP3 audio - what's up with that? It was recorded on XP then put on a USB stick and brought to my Win 7 PC. Would that effect it? How can I fix it?
If not, how can I get my MP3 working? I never thought MP3 would be an issue.
He downloaded and ran a .reg file that was named crack1 without even reading any comments or anything and it corrupted his internet.....Whenever he tries to go to a website it just says cannot connect to webpage.he runs diagnostic and gets that errorThe remote device or resource won't accept the connectionive googled it and he's done the thing where you do this....control panel>internet>advanced>rese
I have a Dell 570 AMD dual core 3.0Ghz with a hard drive with windows 7 64bit. I want another hard drive with another OS on it to dual boot from. I got a blank formatted NFTS drive and plugged it in along side the win7 one. I popped in the win XP disc and turned on the PC. It tried to run from the disc, started the winXP utility and then got an error saying to unplug my hard drive I just put in. Then it started the win7. I tried this with another blank formatted drive and got the same thing. I then opened the case and unplugged the win7 drive and just had the blank one in and same thing happened. I then took a different drive with winXP on it already and plugged that in with the win7. No dual boot option came up and when i forced it to boot from the winXP drive it started to and then got an error. Its like the PC wont accept anything but the win7 drive. I know all these drives work well. They do fine on my older pentium 4 PC. the drives I tried are 2x 80GB and 1x 120GB, all SATA. the one with win7 on it is 500GB SATA.
i resently had my laptop reinstald from vista to windows 7 (my C was full and i had nothing instald on it, its just up-dates, so it was needed)the problem now is, before if some games dont work as the sims 3, i just opend the system en opend the advanged to add the sims in a list that DEP allows it
but for some reason i cannot do that now, the text below command about needing to be admin (wich as only user on the lap i am), and run the BCSEDIT.exe.i run it (even as admin) but it the problem keeps going on.i noticed some ways to turn the DEP off on this site, but that seems a bit extreem (as that people most of the time warn that its not the best option)
A program I use frequently (VuePrint) refuses to let me change the .ini file to a particular opening directory. There is a line in the .ini "Directory=C:" I have attempted to change it to "Directory=C:User1UserDownloads" to no avail. I have changed the file logged in as "Administrator" and as the only "User" of the system. Once or twice the change worked, but at next log on, the .ini file had changed back to the original setting. I have searched the registry and no .ini file reference is there. Yes, I have saved the file using both "Save" and "Save as."
When I'm away from my home office, I like to use Remote Desktop Connection to log on to 3 of my home computers. I have done this before without problems, but this time I found that I could connect but the remote computer would not accept my login even though I was using a user name and password that I knew worked for logging on locally. I was going to come here for help, but I figured out what the problem was before hand, so I thought I would post what happened just in case someone else runs into this problem.
The problem was that I had gone to the control panel and changed the username from what I had used when the OS was installed. This is a no-no because some aspects of the original user name are permanent. I accidentally discovered this when I went to computer management and clicked on local user and groups and saw two different names. One under column name, and the other under column full name. When I changed the full name back to the same as name, everything then worked fine with RDC.
Every time I go to set someone up with a live mail account and use their in existing email address the wretched program will not accept the address they already have and keeps requesting that it has to be set up as a hotmail one. If I ask it to use their own address it comes with some rubbish aboout being in anaothe domain or something. Am absolutely sick of this program why in the name of reason cannot the damn thing just accept the persons existing address. I mean no one wants to start letting everyone else a new address to send to them especially if they have a lot of contacts. I set my own up so what is the go with it now and this one and only feature makes cleaning up someones machine a nightmare.
I have a Commodore 64x Extreme with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit operating system installed on it.
My problem is that every time I try to insert a disc into the internal slimline Blu-Ray Disc drive (be it a CD, DVD or BD) the drive simply ejects it immediately.
I've got the most updated driver installed for it, and Windows claims that the device is working properly.
I have been dealing with an issue where I am only able to get on a couple of websites, while every other website will not load. I have checked my auto-config settings and ive reset Internet Explorer. I used Microsoft's tool that tells you what the problem is and it came up with "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection".
