I am having a problem though and hope someone can help as I have never owned an ATI card until today.
When the card is at stock settings it works flawlessly but when I overclock it even the slightest bit eg 5mhz I get weird figures come up from the core and memory sensors and a flickering on the screen.
I haven't been able to get the flickering screenshot but this shows the core speed reducing etc.
I have noticed when the card isn't being utilized it under clocks it to a core of 400mhz to save power and reduce heat no doubt but when its not at the stock clocks the power save changes the clocks to stupid amounts.
Occasionally, as this PC is booting up, it asks if I want to Start Windows Normally. I press enter for this. However, if I don't do anything, because I am out of the room, it still goes ahead after 15 seconds. In this case, though, I can't operate any of the programs that come up on Windows 7 home edition. When I click on my Firefox browser for example nothing happens. I then have to reboot the PC (switching it off and on) and make sure I'm in front of the PC to press enter when this message comes up. Then all the programs run as normal. Is there any way of stopping it asking me?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently made a separate partition on my HD (C), let's call it F. I wanted to load up windows xp onto that small partition, F, so as to see if it would allow me to operate better, as I have a gaming laptop that seems to be suffering from a memory hog svchost. Anyway, now that I've booted up to the F partition and working in XP, I find that I dislike it, I also can't figure out how to connect to the internet. My issue is, I can't figure out how to boot to the C, my Windows 7, the original OS. I'm not given an option upon startup and I can't find anything in my BIOS that is obviously pertaining to my issue.

View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently it started to blue-screen whenever I would try to play any games (that I had played before with no problem). I ran BlueScreenView and determined that the problem was in the video card drivers AND a kernel something or other in the OS itself.I ran a repair install of Windows 7. Now when I try to start any game, I get no bluescreen, just a reboot. It does not give me a crash log that I can look at in BlueScreenView so I cannot figure out what the problem is.I have searched around this site for clues and have tried system restore (but it wouldn't let me restore to a date earlier than yesterday which is like two days after the problem first started). I don't think it's overheating because I stuck a big fan next to my computer full-blast and it still restarted on starting a game. I don't think it's my PSU because my PSU is only about a month old and I've never had this problem before. Anyway here's my PC specs.[CODE]
