I have a hp 4 month old laptop. I used it yesterday, turned it off, when I turned it back on 4 hours later, it gave me a message that it needed to do a chkdisk, so it ran that, then started in what looks like safemode. It gave me an error message that says "Windows Socket Initialization Failed". I did a little research and tried to do a system restore, there are no restore points found. It will not connect to the internet, it also give me a message that it cannot connect to the windows service.

"interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details" I have been google-ing for hours, with lots of mixed answers. It seems like a very popular problem but no direct step-by-step answer to fixing it? I am not a guru, but have medium level knowledge if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction!
I can access F8 and startup repair (no effect/no issues found)

I have a laptop which has stopped running since yesterday evening and gives me this error on a dialog box due to which I am not able to logon to the system. When I restart my machine, it gives me 4 options i.e.
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networks
Safe Mode using command prompt
Logon normally
I tried all 4 of them if atleast any of these allows me to login, but none worked. I referred to the solutions and fixes available on the internet, but all of them says that I need to press F8, enter into a safe mode and operate the issue from there. But even pressing F8 doesn't make any change.

I have a system I have used for a while now and I actually reformatted a few months ago. The system has been working great with no problems but recently during a boot up I noticed an issue. Right when Windows begins its setup to take you to the login screen I noticed a bluescreen and a quick reboot. So I used F8 to boot from the last known good config, no change. I went and disabled the automatic reboot after a crash so I could read the error and it's the:
"Process1_initialization_failed" error.
I looked around for that error and found this: Fix: STOP 0x0000006B PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED Blue Screen | The Windows Club
However, when I tried to get into the C: to remove that file, it said "Access Denied" and locked me out. I have yet to be able to get into the system since. To make matters worse I gave up and decided to just reformat the drive and start fresh. However, when I load up my Windows Installation DVD it is noticeably slow, it takes 5-10 minutes to go from step to step. So I got to the "Install" button screen, clicked it and it says "Setup is starting..." and then...nothing. It just stays on that screen for a long time, I gave it 30 minutes last night. So I'm unable to even reformat.

Question 1
Does anyone know what CSM initialization is?
Question 2
What bios setting do I need to do to push past this to keep overclocking?

I am using Windows 7 build 7100 X64. I have a Microsoft VX3000 Webcam. I think when I first installed it, it was working. I have been beating my brains out searching on the web for solutions and seen some threads here, nothing has fixed the initilization error (that's why I get when I try and run the Lifecam software). I can't even get into configuration.
I listed my hardware profile upon signing up so you can see it, it's kind of oldish system, socket 939.
I know the webcam works, with the latest drivers, in Windows XP SP3 on another system.
I have changed USB ports. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried manually loading the .inf file.
It shows, in Device Manager, that the driver is working ok, both for the cam and the sound of the mic. I have tried, as I said, loading the .inf files for both of those.
I am using Norton's Beta Internet Security. I have a Razer Lachesis Mouse with the latest drivers for it.
I really need this to work because my loved ones live in another country right now and I miss them seeing me and me seeing them. How do I report this to MS? Does anyone have some ideas on what I can do to fix this?

I recently received a new ASUS Eee PC running Windows 7 Starter. It started fine the first 3 or 4 times I have tried to use it, but now, I am receiving this error message: "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details". I get the same message in safe mode, and the Repair Your Computer and Last Known Good Configuration options do not work. The computer has not created a system restore point, and I could not burn a system image due to lack of a burner (I have an external one on order).

I have a Dell Inspiron n5010 for about two years. I downloaded a large-file game recently, but when I realized that it made my computer freeze, I uninstalled. After that, my laptop suddenly shut down and rebooted, but it automatically went to Startup Repair. I tried to do System Restore, Dell Datasafe Restore, Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, and all options on F8 screen options. After the Dell Datasafe restore, I got the notification: "Logon Process Initialization Failure: Interactive Logon Process Initialization Has Failed."I tried to do Safe Mode, but it did not work. I do not have a copy of Windows 7 or an external hard drive. Windows will not start.

I have a PC that dual boots both XP and 7. Yesterday, I restarted my computer to go from 7 to XP to play a game, all fine and dandy so far. When I came back onto windows 7, the Windows intro logo loads, disappears as usual, but instead of loading by desktop, I get :
"Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."
So I decided to go check my event log. I booted on XP, went to G:WindowsSystem32winevtLogs, copied the file : Application.evtx to my USB key, and opened it up on another Win 7 system to check it out. I thought I could find the error, but I can't get any logs out of the event log. The last entry being a month ago for some reason. I want to avoid formatting my Win 7 partition at all costs. Also :
- Safe mode doesn't work
- System restore doesn't work
- System repair doesn't work.
I've tried almost everything so far. I do in fact have complete access to my G: partition, which is my Windows 7 partition.

BSOD: The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a (0x00000000, 0x00000000) I'm getting this on a shop system running Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit. The last thing I did was shutdown before going home and I believe it installed an update then shutdown, so I'm suspecting the update caused the problem.
I can't get into the F8 Safe Mode screen to try Last known good configuration so I think I'll try a System Restore from the install DVD. Does that sound like a good approach?
I don't have the specs with me but I think it's a 2.8Ghz Dual core Intel with 4GB RAM and two SATA drives. It's been running fine for about a year.

i just went out buy a brand new gaming computer. Take about 2 hours to hook the thing up and press the power button and expect the greatest, but to my dismay I receive the error "Interactive Login Process Initialization failed". I clicked OK and the box closed, the display (1920x1080) flashes and then the same error appears. I will eventually receive a blue screen then the computer will reboot. Startup Repair yields no results, so I was wondering what are my options. I am going to go back to micro-center tomorrow, but wanted to know if the internet had

I have a HP Mini netbook with Windows 7 starter and when it boots up, the screen goes black, but flickers, and puts the computer into a sleep mode, where the power button light starts to blink. Sometimes the screen flickers enought so you can see a faint faded error message but the mouse cursor is unresponsive. When I press (not hold) the power switch, sometimes the display will turn on for 2-3 seconds but the mouse cursor/keyboard is still usually unresponsive. There's sometimes a error message that appears when the display is temporarily on that reads:"Interactive logon process initialization has failed"but the screen goes blank before anything can be clicked...The computer starts fine in safe mode, and with a minimal boot(sysconfig), but chkdsk, windows memory diagnostic, and startup repair are unable to find any issues.I recently booted into safe mode and uninstalled the display drivers via device manager, rebooted and it worked fine, I thought I fixed it, but when I shut down windows, windows finished installing updates and the problem started right back up again.

Today when I went to turn on my Samsung laptop (with Windows 7), I got a ""Logon Process Initialization Failure" error message. I didn't even get to the screen which asks for my password to access the computer's functions. I tried to reboot into safe mode, but I got the same thing again. I can't open any program or even get to my desktop screen.
I found a Microsoft hotfix that appears to be for this problem, and although I saved the .exe file to my thumb drive from my desktop computer, I'm at a loss as to how to install it on my laptop when it won't operate correctly to download and run it!
(The Microsoft link that seems to address my issue is here: [URL]
The only thing that may have changed is that my old power cord to the laptop was frayed, and I ordered a new one off eBay. It's not a Samsung cord, but a replacement cord. My laptop worked fine with it for an entire day, then the following day is when this happened. I don't know if it's related to the problem or not.

I bought this Fujitsu laptop for less than a year. Its only for my school work. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing. For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.

I've had windows 7 now since it's been released and my computer runs 3gb of RAM. Recently my computer has really slowed down. I have opened task manager and the CPU in idle state is over 50% used and when you click something the whole thing grinds to a halt. I have checked processes and nothing is showing, I have scanned my hard-drive for virus's and spyware and nothing.

For some reason, whenever I restart my computer, it goes into a "slow-mo mode" until a seemingly random moment in time. Usually it comes out of it's stupor after a few wake ups from hibernation. While in "slow-mo mode," all animations, actions, game-play, everything is cut in half. It's not an FPS drop, everything just plays like a video in slow motion.I've searched and searched for someone with a similar problem, but have yet to find anything related.

I booted one of my older rigs up and it is so slow it is unusable. It takes 10 min to boot into windows and you pretty much cant do anything in windows either its so slow once you click on something it takes 5 min to actually select the icon after you click it. I had this rig running fine 5 days ago. I have tried reformatting and worked fine for a day then booted up again and same thing. I was wondering if anyone has any insight if its the OS itself or if it is issue with some of the hardware ? I was thinking possibly Hard drive but never seen or heard of this before.
