Apparently I recently downloaded an update that now forces me to use Skydrive when sending photos from my camera software, as well as explorer, etc.. I can successfully send photos by inserting them in an email. However, I need the camera software to downsize the file for me. It was working so well prior to this disaster. Is there a way to disable Skydrive or do I need to purchase another mail client such as Outlook? The error message that I am getting is:Delete the photo email, create a new one, and try to send it again.
Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8CCC0003
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
I did delete the email (many times) and also registered for a user ID.
Is there any photo editing software comparable to the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. I have tried Gimp, Picasso and paid for other versions of Adobe. None are as user friendly and have the editing tools that PhotoDeluxe had.
Explorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps

I found a good tutorial on removing all letter drives from the Send To menu. But I want to only remove the CD Rom drive and still have USB drives displayed in the menu. How can I do this?
I used to be able to send any document to the CD/DVD drive by right-clicking the required document and selecting "Send To" and then DVD Drive. Now the "Send To" drop down menu does not include a DVD/CD drive. I accessed the "SendTo" folder and found it did not have the required shortcut. I have added it now. However; it still does not appear in the drop-down menu. A possible clue is that if I go to "Computer"; the drive is listed as CD drive (not DVD/CD). Maybe the computer thinks that I only have a CD "read only" drive. And thus is not offering me the option to send a file to it?
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.
I have a Windows 7 32bit laptop and I do not have MS Office installed. I have been using Hotmail until a couple weeks ago when I was "converted" to outlook.com email - which I like OK. When I'm using a browser - IE9 in this case - and when I click on "send link as" or "send page as", it launches Windows Live Mail and puts me in a WLM output email. I would instead like it to launch me into outlook.com and an outlook.com output email. How can I do this - or can't it be done at all?
I have compaq presario cq40 series of compaq laptop, it has onbuilt web cam, but i do not able to take photo in windows 7 platform,me detail procedure for function it.
My computer was infected by a virus which hide all my icons and changed my wallpaper to just solid black, I got rid of the virus fixed the icon issue but i couldn't get the background back. Every time i try to put a picture as the wallpaper an error message comes up saying "this photo cannot be set as wallpaper" and when i try to change the theme the window color at the bottom is the only thing that changes.
My sister sends me jpeg photos from her phone as attachments in gmail. In the email, the preview pic looks normal. When I click View, the pic is enlarged, but flipped 90 degrees. If I download the pic, it's flipped 90 degrees. If I open the pic in windows live photo gallery, I can rotate it, but will get a bunch of pop up error messages saying This photo cannot be saved because of a problem with the photo's file properties. Then it says there's a problem with windows live photo gallery and shuts down. This pic flipping in gmail started about a week ago. Previously her pics displayed correctly. She says she's doing nothing out of the ordinary. I just tried loading the photo into MsPaint. I was able to rotate it and save it.
I have an HP Probook 4525s, running Windows 7, with a DVD-RW drive. I attempted to open a burned CD-R that had photos on it, but when I stuck the disc in, and attempted to open it, it said it was a blank disc. I was able to open the disc on another computer just fine. I was wondering why I wasn't able to open it on mine.
In the past when I wanted to attach a photo to an email I would browse the desktop for the folder that I wanted. Now for some reason I cannot access the desktop. When I browse I get the download folder. On the area on the left of the download folder specifies document, drives and my external drive. How can I correct this?
I have windows 7 on my computer and I want to make a photo I took as my desktop's background, but I want it to be a smaller size and only in the middle of the screen. Everytime I try to make it my background (even after re-sizing it) it takes up the whole space. It is possible to make it my background but only in the center of the screen and not take up the whole screen?
I was having problems with my computer running slowly after downloading MVPS Hosts and kept cleaning out the DNS client, etc.I rest back to MS hosts and DNS and did a fix it for slowness and now I keep getting popups for my HP printer/scanner program and even with cancel they keep popping up.I took some screen shots - but will only upload one as says others are too large - so I cut and pasted most of the messages onto the same paint.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit with Picaso and Irfanview. I want to cut an image from one photo to paste into another photo. Which software can achieve this?
since I accepted the update to Microsoft Windows 7 Essentials 2011, the "fix" photo button has disappeared. This used to be essential to tidy up photos that I imported from my camera.I even uninstalled windows essentials and still no joy.
I have got a new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 installed, I had a windows Vista laptop before and the default programme for viewing my photos was FANTASTIC as I could easily crop photos (great for ebay) but on this windows 7 laptop it has NO OPTIONS at all for cropping a photo that I have downloaded from my camera, it opens the photo in Windows Photo viewer, but the top tools are all blurred, so my question is: which programme can I use to be able to crop the photo of my choice? I am really P'd off that this new laptop hasnt got the FANTASTIC "fix" tools that Vista had, I thought this was going to be a "better" laptop but this photo viewer with no option to crop is a definite step backward,?
I am having a problem with my windows photo viewer on my computer. When I try to rotate a picture it tells me that it cannot save the picture because of an unknown error. I've tried looking for a solution on the internet but I haven't had any luck. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and could help me
im trying to save jpg's from this one site and it wont save the image. when i click the jpg it just says...
"windows photo viewer cant open this picture because either photo viewer doesnt support this file format or you dont have the latest updates to photo viewer."ive saved pics off this site many times before and never had any problems and this is the only site that i have this problem with so im thinking that i need to update photo viewer.
I'm getting my mum's new 64-bit Windows 7 HP Pavillion all set up for her, and I have hit a minor snag. When the photo screensaver is running, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move forward and backward through the pictures, but it won't pause.
In XP, you could always push the down arrow to pause the screensaver in order to look at a picture longer, but that only ends the screensaver in 7. I've also noticed the same problem in Vista. Is there some way I can pause the photo screensaver and not "wake up" the computer, or did Mr. Gates decide to discontinue the feature after XP?
need a program for my lay top since i guess my hp touchsmart2 with windows 7 home premium and a hptruevision web cam and figerprint reader doesent come with one is this right
