so if there are multiple accounts and have some startup programs in all user the programs will be loaded first at logon screen and when someone logon the startup programs have started..

Can Startup Programs Run As Administrator ?
I have a couple of programs (Logitech Setpoint is one) which need to run as administrator in order to work in some programs (e.g. Visual Studio 2005). They are set to run at start-up, however since I've set them to run as administrator, they don't run. Is there any way to get these to run at start up?

Upon Startup, Black Screen With Mouse, No Logon Screen
Okay, I did my research, but it hasn't helped. I've tried: 1. F8, enable low resolution video (didn't work) 2. F8, safe mode (didn't work) 3. F8, last known good (didn't work) 4. Startup repair (didn't work) Anybody got other ideas? I can't login at all as I don't ever get a login screen.

Startup Programs Not Opening During Startup
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have CPU-Z, Hardware Monitor Pro and Resource Monitor shortcuts in the startup folder. If I go to MSCONFIG I can see that the items are there to be started during startup. What am I doing wrong that will not allow these programs to start up?

I have a minor technical question I would love help on. I have the UAC on and log in as a standard user for protection. There are a few programs that I would like to run automatically when windows starts that require a password EVERY time I start windows, or if I select them manually. Is there any reason certain programs due to their permissions need an admin password to run and other don't? I could not find the difference looking in the security section of properties comparing it with a program that runs as an admin. HELP! I would like to run these programs automatically as windows boots without typing in the admin password for each program.

Setting Interdependence For Services And Programs On Logon / Logoff
I'm just setting up a new Win7 Professional system, and I want to encrypt a partition on the hard-disk with TrueCrypt to store certain stuff including the data directory for MySQL. However, the MySQL service would probably start before I'm logged-in and therefore throw a fit if the data dir isn't mounted yet. Likewise, I can't be sure MySQL will stop before the Truecrypt volume is dismounted at logoff/shutdown. Is there any way I can make MySQL wait for the Truecrypt volume to be mounted after logon, and then stop it at logoff before Truecrypt dismounts? It seems it might be possible using Group Policy, but as I come from XP Home I've no experience of this tool. PS - Just to make things more complicated, I'll mostly be logging in as a Standard User, so the solution has to work whoever logs in. Not asking much eh?

Edit Startup Programs
I know about MSCONFIG. the problem is, when you use MSCONFIG to deselect programs from starting up, you force your computer into "Safemode". I once used a ms command that allowed me to disable enable all programs that start up with windows, other than MSCONFIG. It did not force my windows into Safemode. which command is it that allows you to disable programs from starting up with windows, BESIDES MSCONFIG ? anyone know.?

Cannot Block Startup Programs
in windows vista I could block startup programs i didn't want using up system resources, but with windows 7 I cant find a way of doing that, I understand its always a good idea to have normal startup mode instead of selective in misconfiguration. but in vista I could simply block programs in component services but the ones I want to block are not even listed in windows 7! is this the wrong place to look or is blocking startup programs not an option in windows 7?

Run Different Language Programs
How do i keep the OS in English, but run another program as a different language There should be an option to have a program always run as a set language I would like to be able to run an English, Japanese and Korean program side by side, not reset the computer just to run one app. I Know about applocal, but some times it does not cut it and the program fails to run properly. Windows should let me run a program from any country, not just one at a time.

How Do You Add Programs To The Startup Folder ?
I have looked and looked and I can not see a way to add links into the startup folder. If i use Windows explorer to navigate to the Startup folder, I am told I do not have authority to access it (I am the administrator and only account on the system). Nothing in control panel seems to apply so how is it done now ?

User Accounts And Startup Programs UAC
I'm setting up standard user accounts for the other family members. When I log in on those non-administrator accounts I get multiple flashing icons in the taskbar. Clicking on these leads to the UAC requesting permission to allow changes to the computer. There also is a box to input the administrator password to allow the program to startup. These are mostly ASUS programs, like TurboV, Q-Button, EPU, stuff like that. I don't need these programs starting for anyone but myself, so how can I selectively start these programs so the other users don't get the popup's on login?

Sound Drivers = Only Able To Run Programs As Admin
When I install the drivers for my HTO Striker 7.1 and restart to complete driver installation, suddenly, I can only run anything if I right click and Run as Administrator.. not even Firefox. Its annoying to have to get the gray User Access Control screen everytime I want to do something, as well as having to right click and left click just to start a program. HTO Striker 7.1 drivers on their site are listed as being good for Windows 7 x64. What could be happening here? Has anyone had this problem?

It's called the Scenic Ribbon and you can already see it in Paint, Wordpad and Movie Maker. The Ribbon originated in Office 2007 and has been improved even more in Office 2010. Untill now it has only been a part of Office however starting with Windows 7 the Ribbon will be a part of the Operating System. That means any programmer will be able to add the ribbon to his program instead of the current menu bar. Run 16-bit Programs From A Command Line
Since DOS 2.0 I have written and collected command line programs. Many do things not possible without command line support. Such as run an Assembler and editor from a .BAT file (I use A86 if you want to search for it) to created and run handy small .COM programs. But none of these 16-bit programs work on my Vista 64-bit. A friend has the same computer I have, but with Vista 32-bit and he verified a few of my .COM programs worked fine. ? Would I be able to install Win 7 32-bit and run them?
