I was able to run normal resolution for a long time now and never had any issues. Today, I wake up and turn on my computer and I see some random resolution, everything is huge and looks like shit. I tried adjusting my resolution but anything past 1280x1024 doesn't work and the monitor just says "OUT OF RANGE".I run windows 7 and my graphis card is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS

I recently built a computer (specs below) and have had few problems until recently. About once a day, the system will go to the Blue screen and restart. Upon restart, it says that the Video Card stopped working properly. Obviously I'd think it's that but don't know where to start.

My native resolution is 1600x1200 but when i change my resolution to 1600x1200 it says 'frequency out range'. I have intel g31 without other graphic card.Then i installed gma driver it shows complete list of all resolutions but i cant set any resolution above 1600x900.

So anyway ive managed to get everthing else working on my computer but am having a problem setting the native resolution of my LG Flatron L204WS monitor. I've had a search in this part of the forums and couldnt find anyone with a similar problem so i hope im not posting another unecessary post!

The problem: When trying to set the native resolution of my monitor to 1680x1050 im getting the message from my monitor that it is out of range, i think the setting for refresh rate is at 59hz and wont change to 60. I have located some LG drivers for the monitor and installed those and now windows recognizes my monitor in the advanced settings but not in the direct window of screen resolution. Could this be why? Or could it be related to the fact that the resolution atm 1400x1050 works with 59Hz but 1680x1050 does not work with 59Hz?
Ive seen a few other posts with people stuck on 59 and not being able to change to 60 but there has been no real solution found as of yet. I think i have listed all the relevant information needed for a bit of troubleshooting only if you were so kind to have a look and have a ponder
O yes there was one other very strange oddity, when i run a game such as Team Fortress 2, i can set my resolution to 1680x1050 and it runs fine, how very odd! Thats where this problem stumps me even more!
I recently downloaded Metro 2033 on steam. It made my computer go "Out of range" even when I rebooted, So I called a technician over to fix it and I think he did a clean reinstall of the OS. It worked after that but now I can't seem to play any games and I can't go back to resolutions such as 1280x720. I've used 1280x720 when playing an old game called "Sniper Elite" and it just goes out of range for most resolutions.

It turned out to be an image settings preference that I hadn't set properly. In my attempt to fix the problem however I did a clean install of drivers and updated to v301.42.
Since I installed the new driver none of my games would start (NBA 2K12, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim etc.) and simply go to a black windowed screen. Skyrim tells me that 'Your display doesn't support the selected resolution'. However, I am using the native resolution (1680x1050) for my monitor.
i've finally got the system up and running.lm using the same gfx card as l used to the Radeon 4650 HD after installing the cards drivers it seems to cause issues where the monitor gives me an "unsupported" resolution error when on my previous setup said card had no trouble going to 1350*768 (cant seem to go above 1024*768 without having to roll back drivers)

I am running windows 7 and my cd rom is not working properly. It was reinstalled which seemed to help a LITTLE, but sometimes you have to incert a cd 7 or eight times before it will read it. I can see that there is a cd inserted (when I go to my computer I can see the D drive). Just doesn't read them all the time. I have a Dell with a vertical cd drive. When I view it through the control panel it says my driver is up to date.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt is very strange. If I right click right now anywhere it will work. When I am in any game, however, it acts very strange. The right click sometimes does not register, and other times will be inconsistent.
For example, if I have to hold down the right button for me to eat a jelly bean, it will cancel mid hold, as if I had let go. This all started happening after an episode where I accidentally messed with sticky keys.
I have a Gioteck EX-05 headset, and when I plug it in, my computer detects it and installs the drivers, however it continues to play sound through its speakers and not my headset. The headset appears in device manager, but it is not listed as a playback device in the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel. I have tried un-installing and Re-installing the drivers, but that doesn't work

In the middle of typing a sentence, suddenly every letter I type performs the associated ctrl key action. The only remedy is a complete reboot (and loss of data in the process). I have googled this problem and it seems pretty common, but all I've found are a lot of suggestions (some of them too technical) and no clear solutions. Some of the non-useful suggestions I've gotten already: "Wedge the CTRL key up" ~ it is not physically stuck; I have not even touched the key when this happens. If the key were simply physically stuck, a reboot would not solve the problem. "Clean your keyboard" ~ the keyboard is not dirty; it's 5 days old.

I modified my server load screen and wanted to check it so I hit the print screen key and pasted it to paint and all I get is a back screen instead of the load screen image. Then I took a image of my desk top and the image is fine. Did the same thing on windows xp and everything is fine,the load screen image and the desk are image are coming out just the way there suppose to. Is there a setting that I'm missing on windows 7 that could be causing my problem.

The touchpad stopped working properly about 8 months ago. It was not a big matter to me as i only use USB mouse as pointing device. But yesterday i experianced a strange error. When I use the apostrophe key, nothing happens, but when I type something after, it appears. It's no big deal really, but I'm rather anal and it just bugs me when something isn't working right.
I have used search here at SF and gone through the tutorials, but can't find anything that quite matches. I tried to update driver's but the little box on the screen tells me driver's are up to date. I checked Device Manager and it doesn't indicate any problem. I checked Keyboard in Control Panel and it says the device is working properly.
My system is Dell OptiPlex 740, 2.50 GB RAM, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.All of a sudden - the USB ports (all 7 of them) stopped to function roperly.Each device I plugged into the port - got recognized as 'uknown device' and doesn't function at all.One of the biggest problems that this cause me - I can't plug in the keyboard and the mice - I don't have PS/2 ports in this computer.Thing is, even out of Windows, the USB doesn't work. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have got a 64-bit processor and am running home premium 64-it, however i am getting anoyed with some of the old software, and also some games (generaly old ones) not working properly or not starting. I was supplied with a 32 bit version of windows and was wondering whether this software would work if i was running a 32 bit copy of windows or is it the fact that i have a 64 bit processor the thing that makes running the software. I am a bir of a novice at this kind of area but not completly illiterate when it comes to using a computer. Would dual booting be the solution, i don't want to have to wipe the hard drive and would like to keep the 64 bit versions as the main boot. Would insalling on an external hard drive be a good solution.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have got his bizarre problem, my mouse and keyboard just stopped working properly.The mouse pointer moves but right click does not work and if I left click on a folder the the properties pan of the folder opens up. Sometimes the left click does work, but the menu which opens up stays for a fraction of a second and disappears.But this is just half of the problem, the enter key toggles full screen mode for an application. I think something corrupted the key bindings and the mouse drivers. Is there any way to fix the problem.
