Jan 7, 2010i want to remove or desable Administrator from Media Devices, please look the picture below.Why? Because i don't want to show Administrator on PS3!

Safely Remove Hardware And Eject Media - USB Device Currently In Use
Jan 13, 2012I've had a Windows 7 computer for several days now. Every time I want to remove a USB from a slot, I do the 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media'. But it then tells me "This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the deice and then try again. Some of the USB's I just look at to see what was on them before trying to remove them. The last one was when I did a 'Datasafe Local Backup' When I tried to remove it, I was given the "this device is in use message...'.

Oct 16, 2009I set up a program to "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" by right clicking on the program .exe (and/or the program Shortcut) and checking the "run as administrator" option under the compatability tab...to see if the program would run any better.
After evaluation, I decided that the "run as administrator" option was probably not necessary for the program, so I went in and removed the checkbox....thinking that the program would no longer use the "run as administrator" option.
I was evidently wrong, or I did something wrong, because the program still shows the little "administrator" shield thingy on the icon, and it still gives me a popup verifying that I want it run as administrator.
I tried this with several different programs, and I get the same thing...when I want to remove the administrator privs, the program still pops up and asks to run as administrator.
Am I going about this the wrong way?? or am I missing something here??
I "skipped" Vista and went right to Windows 7 x64 Ultra from XP, and I have for the most part been very happy with the new OS. I am still getting a feel for it though.
Examples: I was trying to solve a problem with the game Left-4-Dead..so I took some advice from these forums and "ran as administrator". I have since solved the problem, and I would like to stop running the program as administrator.

All the options appear, it's just when I click on them nothing happens?! I'm logged in as Administrator, I even unlocked the hidden Administrator account and am still running into the same issues. As far as answers go all I can find is the typical, "do a system restore", "reinstall Windows", crap like that. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

It's inconvenient though.What may have caused this was I used Window 7's disk management to create a partition of my C drive to dual boot XP.Later on I installed EasyBCD to make windows only boot 7, and then I deleted the entire partition XP was installed on, and merged it back to the C drive.

Dec 1, 2012I am having a problem starting my PC! I have to start it in the boot menu under the RAID option. If I do not do this a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.." comes up, and just keeps popping up regardless of what I press! I would try using my boot disk but for the life of me I can't find it, and as windows 7 was already installed on this computer when we got it 3 year ago, I can't accurately recall if it came with one!I am no expert on BIOS, but I have read other problems similar to this one, and know that if I don't have the boot disk or the OS disk, I will need to know that at least.I am curious if the (Hard drive) is the issue. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.

Jun 21, 2012the problem i'm having is to do with the dvd/cd device on my "acer aspire 4741 with windows 7 home premium x64 notebook".the driver for the device is:DVD/CD ROM drives - (Standard CD-ROM drives)HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30Ni decided to creat a system backup to use in case of a serious crash and i have to reinstall windows. i was able to do this on 4dvds using erecovery. i haven't had the need to use theseince then, i have burned some folders onto a dvd disc....to use like a usb....using windows explorer. all goes well with the burning part but when it comes to mounting the disc to access the folders is when all hell breaks loose.
whenever i slot the disc into the device, a dialog box shows up asking how i'm going to be using the disc. if i skip that part, launch windows explorer and double click the dvd icon, a window shows up alerting me to drag files onto the window to burn, but the folders that i had already burned on the dvd never shows up.this is what i have tried so far:1) launched microsoft fixit4me from the microsoft support center to check and fix dvd/cd device.result: problem detected but could not fi2) started system in "safe mode" ran diagnostic tool.result: CDROM-the device,DeviceCDROM0 has a bad block

Sep 5, 2011When it crashes the cursor still moves and sometimes I can move windows around but then it all shuts down and sometimes briefly shows a blue screen of death. On reboot I sometimes get this message and have to reboot again. "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"It's a brand new box just built last week but no warranty and I would not even know what part to replace if it's hardware related.I've attached a Hijackthis to the post if it helps but I don't think it's virus related at all.

May 13, 2012When left alone..."Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"I have a new(ish) cpu that I bought last Christmas, it works great and it has not crashed on me whenever I am using it. However, when I leave it on overnight (usually when it is downloading something big), when I wake up in the morning I am greeted with a black screen with the words:"Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"When this happens I simply press the power button a few seconds to turn it off, then turn it on again and it boots normally. (pressing a key only results in the message being repeated)What infuriates me is that it only ever happens when I leave it on overnight so I don't know when and how exactly it occurs but it almost always does. Like I said earler, it never does this when I am using it as it works fine otherwise. It just won't stay on overnight when I need it to.
System info:
Windows 7 ultimate x64 (full retail, installed once from scratch)
Intel core i7 4200k
Nvidia Gtx 560ti
16gb RAM
Seagate 500gb hdd for OS, 2Tb samsung and 1Tb seagate hdd for storage (all internal drives; no external drives attached)
Connected via hdmi to Pioneer receiver vsx 1121 then to 42" 720p Panasonic Plasma Tv
Can't Remove USB Device Safely
Aug 13, 2011Okay so whenever I need to remove my USB flash drive after updating some excel files, it won't allow me to remove it safely. It tells me that the device is currently in use and that I should close all programs but there aren't any programs opened. I can only remove it by going into the library and right click on the drive and select "Eject".
This only happens if I modify a file on the drive.
