Realtek HD Detecting Mic/speakers When Not Plugged In?
Sep 1, 2012
I recently got a new Asus P8Z77 motherboard for my desktop and a new SSD. For awhile everything was working till literally out of nowhere my audio cuts out (I was on the desktop doing nothing when it happened). It detects my mic input and headphones when they're not plugged in, and when they do plug in the computer spazzes out and constantly disconnects then connects the microphone on windows. The speakers are flat out always detected regardless of being plugged in. My HDMI audio however works fine and I've gotten to get sound out of my monitor. Since then I have formatted completely and uninstalled/reinstalled all audio drivers from the realtek official site however the issue is still the same.
I got a headset for my birthday and it is a sennheiser so it is pretty good quality so I want to get the most out of it. I currently have realtek installed on my pc as it came with it and when I plug in the green plug into the green jack I select headphones and pink into pink and select mic. Then when I open windows sound card manager it is showing my headphones as a speaker. Am i doing this right? I tried plugging the green plug into green and selecting line out aswel but there was no sound. Can you guys give me any suggestions of what i should be doing to get prime settings for this headset (even if it is off onboard sound?) I have provided a screenshot aswel as audio on pcs for some reason confuses the hell out of me especially realtek.
I tried searching for the solution to this problem but even after installing the realtek drivers, i still get that issue of no speakers or headphones.Below is information about the onboad sound.

I had not used my desktop for one week due to some problem of too much dust accumlating in the machine. Due to this the system would not power up. After the dust was removed, system powers up but i now get this problem with sound. Before this everything was fine. The speakers work fine on the laptop.I installed the drivers from the motherboard driver disc. I am using a gigabyte board (GA-G31M-ES2L).I have installed the drivers directly from the gigabyte website for my motherboard as well as from the realtek website. Also updated bios online from gigabyte server. But none of these methods causes sound to be restored.Theres no exclamation mark by the audio drivers in Device Manager. I have removed the audio drivers and after a restart, i still get the "no speakers or headphones are plugged in" error on the speaker icon.In device manager after restarting the system, i get the "high definition audio" device listed under "Sound, video and game controllers".Now i am wondering there is something wrong with the motherboard.
The other day a speaker cord was yanked out of my computer and dismembered the head phone port. When headphones or speakers are plugged in they do not work. The main issue here is when nothing is plugged into the port my laptop speakers do not work. Its as if my computer thinks something is plugged in and has turned off its own speakers.
Ever since last night, my internal speakers will only work if something is plugged into the headphone jack, be it headphones or external speakers. This happened right after I unplugged some external speakers. In control panel, it says headphones are plugged in when they are not and that they are not plugged in when they are. Sound comes through both the speakers and the headphones when headphones are plugged in.Oddly enough, Skype login sounds still play. Windows startup sounds and all other media, videos, etc doesn't work without the headphones however.I have tried updating the sound card driver using the automatic detection program from the AMD website. Then I tried updating the sound card driver via the HP website. Then I tried a system restore. Nothing has worked so far.
I have problem with my sound/sound card.My notebook is HP 620, product number WS730EA#BED, OS Windows 7 32bit.Audio driver is IDT.This notebook has HDMI outport and couple days ago I connected it with my Toshiba TV, which you can connect with HDMI cable. So I connected notebook and TV and there was picture but not sound. In sound options I made Digital Audio (HDMI) as a default device, so I can have sound on TV, and there wasn't any sound. I restarted my notebook and there was the same problem - there wasn't sound on TV again.I disconnected notebook from TV. There wasn't sound on notebook either. As a matter of fact there is no sound to this day.In IDT audio control panel everything is muted and it's impossible to unmute speakers or headphones.Device Manager doesn't see problems with soundcard. It says that everything is OK.On speaker icon is red x and says "no speakers or headphones are plugged in". When I troubleshoot it, it can't fix it and it says that it is disabled.I tried with updating the drivers - doesn't help.Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling it - doesn't help.In control panel -> sound says that HDMI is not connected (you can't disable it), speakers are default (but you can't configure it) and headphones are default (you can't configure them also). When I go to the recording devices the sound control panel just freezes....So I thought that problem is with the sound card and I bought the external USB sound card. In BIOS I disabled the integrated sound card. So I installed the external sound card. Everything installed like as it should be. The notebook recognizes the external sound card and says that everything is ok, but again I have red x on sound icon and again I have no sound via external sound card. I rebooted the notebook, same problem. So integrated or external sound card - I have no sound. Nothing helps, I tried everything to repair it, but it doesn't help.
I have my headphones plugged in but sometimes when I open programs and CPU % goes high then sound switches to speakers. It only happens for a short time (under a second).
Previously I had Realtek HD Manager installed, but under the direction of another, I uninstalled it, as it wasn't detecting any devices plugged into it.I am still having the same problem, and when I attempt to install Realtek again, it comes with either: Or this, and it will repeatedly come up no matter how many times I allow it, until it eventually just closes itself. This is for any of the drivers available on the website, the first one being RC266 Vistax64, the second one being AC97.Previously, instead of "High Defintion Audio Device", it was shown "Realtek High Definition ect ect."It used to show "Digital Output" being the only one plugged in, and on the HD Audio Manager, nothing else was detected. I've Dell N5010 laptop with Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and IDT sound drivers. The issue I'm facing is that: "The speakers would continue playing even though I plug in my headphones." Both of them work simultaneously...
when i plug in my speakers (Logitech X140) or my headphones (wicked reverb from wicked audio) windows 7 (64bit) says that nothing is plugged in and no audio device is installed. The audio works in ubuntu (on a separate hard drive) when i look in device manager under sound video and game controllers it has NVIDIA High Definition Audio for times. It wasnt working on a fresh install. The reason i was using ubuntu is that this started happening a while ago and i got no help so i switched to linux but now i want to have windows so i can play games.
I rercently came with the following problem without any reason:I have a realtek audio chipset with my mother board.Since some time, the HD audio drivers keeps on detecting/undetecting a device plugged in my front jack (resulting is sound cutoff, which is more than annoying). But, there is nothing plugged. If I plug something then, the detection works right.I'm wondering if it is a software problem, or if there is something wrong with my motherboard or my front jack connector (some kind of shortcut or whatever).
Sounds are coming out of my speakers even i plugged in my headphonesand by the way, when i go to control panel and go to hardware sounds and go manage audio devices, there is NO headphones sign/logo even when i have plugged in my headphones. And when i try to update my audio drivers, they say it is up to date.
I have an Asus K61-IC dual booting Windows 7 Professional x64 (default) & Fedora 16 x64. In Windows, whenever I plug in a HDMI cable to watch a movie on my LCD TV audio will only come out of laptop speakers and when I open audio properties it says HDMI audio not connected or something to that effect (at the moment, I'm not able to connect it to the TV) and it will not let me click on properties, but when I open the driver properties, it tells me everything is working fine. I cannot figure this out for s#%t.
[code] So I bought a new computer not too long ago and I've had some issues with my headset and whatnot. I have a ASUS Xonar DX sound card with an optic fibre cable for my Logitech Z-5500 system and they worked just fine with it.However, when I bought my headset (Steelseries 7H Fnatic, normal non-USB) I had issues. When I plugged them into my motherboard it couldn't find them. And when I tried to plug them into my Xonar card, people I was skyping with could hear my sounds (videos I watched etc) even though I had earplugs. So I removed the card and decided I'd go with the normal drivers etc. So I checked ASUS website and got the drivers.I installed the drivers (Xonar drivers uninstalled clean before) and it asks me to reboot. I reboot and I get the message: "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." from the system tray. I run dxdiag and no sound card is detected (it's just empty where there should be driver names etc). In the control panel there is no Realtek option etc. When I check the folder it only has 2 folders:Drivers and InstallShield. They contain files named RtlUpd64 (application), USetup.iss and the InstallShield contains Rtkupd64 (application).
I uninstalled/reinstalled and rebooted etc several times but I never get it in the control panel or the system tray. BIOS etc are the lastest for my motherboard, and I never had this issue before. In BIOS the settings are to HD audio. I'm pretty sure I haven't screwed up the assembly of the computer, because I've been building my own for a very long time. In the control panel I can currently see "Digital Audio (HDMI)" 2 through 5 (2,3,4,5) and they're not plugged in it says. On recording there is nothing.
When I plug in my head phones my computer does not register them and keeps playing music on the main speakers,I have checked the Sound in the controlpanel but only the main speakers are listed there.I have an Acer Aspire computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit.
This doesn't work. Very irritating.(I don't know if this RealTek sticky at the top of this forum is a solve for this, I'm not hot on registry changes and I'm not sure if this is a fix for this issue.)Firstly I have to turn off the front-panel detection in order for the front panel to be detected..?Secondly, I can't get the speakers to mute when the front phones are plugged in. I can do a manual switch from one to the other, but the front panel won't detect when things are plugged in.
I put together my new machine yesterday and I'm thrilled with it. i2500k, 8gb GSkill, Samsung SSD and it flies. Took me a snap to install and just like a couple of years ago when I set up my old machine I've been at for 24 hours now, most of which have been awake trying to just get some damn sound to my speakers.'ve read hundreds of forum posts and tried everything from flashing the BIOS to various versions of the drivers but the results are always the same. No matter what port I plug my speakers into (a 2.1 system with a single 1/8th to 1/8th cable) Realtek will not recognize my speakers and will not even detect that a new device has been plugged in which is the most frustrating part.As you can see from the images I'm getting output levels no problem whatsoever. And here's a couple of images of my settings: Speakers are fine, they work with my iPod just perfectly. Adding more frustration I connected a USB webcam with built-in microphone and when I make a call I can be heard well.Is there anything else that I should be looking at?To add a little info, I just disconnected the front panel audio connectors from the motherboard and that didn't change a thing either.
I have a creative realtek speaker system, one green cable plugged in the computer and back to a big speaker box. The two little R L speakers are also plugged in that big box. The creative sound level countrol is also plugged in that big black box a kind of very big speaker. Why does the sound not work?
I'm at my wits end on a problem here. The sound on my computer is not working because the Realtek driver (or the motherboard, not sure which) is not recognizing my speakers that are plugged in. I get this:
I have tried to re-install any and all drivers that may be affected with no success. Tried restarting, messing with the BIOS, to no avail. What should I do now? This is seriously holding up my work (I'm a music composer).
Step 1 - locate and save file 7507807.exe or search for the "BA735 USB" driver which contains all the Boston Human Interface Device drivers. Run the file and save the files somewhere useful and easy to find on your PC.
Step 2 - go to Device & Printers; right mouse click your PC's icon and choose Device Installation settings. Choose No and Never .... I like to call this turn off the MS knows best switch. Save changes etc.
Step 3 - Install the BA735 USB speakers to the USB port you intend to leave it on.
Step 4 - Windows 7 should now try to load the driver. Because I didn't do in this order not sure of how this works, but make sure Windows 7 goes to the %7507807CABSWIN2KINF folder and you should see the BAUSBHID.inf driver file. Install this one and none other. If all works the HID entry in Device Manager WILL say "Boston Human Interface Device". You may hahve to reboot after this.
Step 4B (how I got it to work) was to Select the first "USB input Device" from the Device manager HID section. Then choose which driver to install as in the steps above. It must be from the WIN2KINF folder.
Step 5 - In the "Sound" option in control panel make sure the Boston USB AUdio Device is set as the Default Device. Have something playing to test it out, I still had speaker connected directly to the sound card and this just swapped the sound from them to the Boston ones. Voila!
A similar process to this will get these same speaker working in XP.
So I just switched motherboards from a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 to a Biostar TZ77XE3. With the Gigabyte board, I could plug in both my sets of speakers, having 4 outputting sound at the same time. Now, however, I have my microphone plugged into the pink hole, and my primary speakers plugged into the green hole. However, I've tried plugging in my second set of speakers to every audio plug on the board, and it still seems like it doesn't want to output sound. In the Realtek HD Audio Manager, only the first set of speakers is recognized as being plugged in the analog, but not the second.
I have a Logitech x-530 system that I'm trying set up to my HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower computer. I've plugged in the three connectors to the pins - red in red, pink in pink and blue in black - just like I did on my other computer. However, it only plays sound from the front two speakers.
I make matters worse, I have NO Realtek Audio Manager, and if I edit my speaker settings from the control panel, then I ONLY have the option to choose 2.1 sound - no 5.1.
I just recieved a computer that I purchased yesterday and everything was working fine on it until I went to go plug in headphones. I plugged them in using the front jack and I got this whining hissing sound. I tried using the back jack and the sound went away. Another problem i'm having is regardless of what jack i'm using is that whenever I plug the headphones my speakers don't turn off and sound goes though them instead of the headphones unless I set the headphones as the default device.
I have a wired problem with realtek hd r237 windows 7 drivers:
I don't have any sound on laptop's internal speakers but i can hear in headphones. In PLAYBACK DEVICES headphones are detected as speakers and when i unplug them sound automatically turns to SPDIF- no sound on internal speakers.
If a make a sound test (with headphones pluged in) whith Quadraphonic selection i can hear FL in my left headphone ,FR in my right headphone,RL in left internal speaker and RR in right internal speaker.
