Is there anyway to disable zooming abilities in windows 7? They most often find a way to zoom out to the tiniest possible font in outlook and browser. Would be awesome if there is some kinda system wide setting that I could have them disable this

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 workstation that people connect to remotely via LogMeIn.I recently decided to move it to my home LAN, because it has faster Internet than work LAN. My home LAN has many personal computers on it, with file and printer sharing enabled. Most of these shares are not password protected for convenience. So the problem is that this workstation is able to see and connect to personal computers. I do not want this. I've temporarily password protected as many shares as I could, but it's not a permanent solution because it's a big family, and there are many computers, and I probably missed some. Unfortunately I can't use that Windows 7 homegroup sharing feature because more than half of the computers are Linux or Macs or Windows XP.I've researched the ports used by Windows File sharing, and made an Access Control policy in my router to block IP and Port ranges specifically for this workstation, to try and prevent it from discovering my other computers, but it did not help. I suspect this network access policy only applies to IPs and Port ranges on the Internet, not on the LAN. (btw router is D-Link DGL-4300)I'm looking for some solution either by tweaking settings in the workstation to make it blind, or making some changes with the networking gear.

View 2 Replies View Relatedany time a program, ANY program (doesn't matter if it is an installer or what) is not programmed to open or run in the background, if something happens in it, the focus gets stolen from where I am (say Firefox or a Microsoft Word Document), even if the application doesn't actually pop up, then I have to re-click on the program to regain focus and continue working. The real problem is when things pop up unexpectedly as I am typing and I hit the space bar, which results in my accepting something I may not have wanted to.Is there any way at all to FORCE a global "stay in the background" for any program that doesn't have focus or to prevent programs from stealing the focus?I tried the mouse hover trick, but that's an annoyance because if I accidentally bump it off of my active window, whatever one it comes on top of becomes active and is only worth it if I'm working in a full screen window (which is maybe 30% of the time).I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

When the installation was done, Windows 7 can see and access the folders/files/drives from the first HDD. How do I restrict this? I knew how to do this with XP but I can't figure out how to do this with Windows 7. Basically, I don't want the Windows 7/Second HDD interacting with the first.
