Jul 29, 2012Dvd drive acting strangely. It will burn anything, cds or dvds. It will read dvds burned from laptop. It will not play any commercial dvd. I have tried old dvds and new ones, still nothing. I first tried uninstalling the drive, didn't work. Also tried deleting the upper and lower filters, still nothing. Then did a total recovery of the OS, still nothing. I'm at a loss. This drive is 2 years old, which isn't that old. I've pulled out the drive and made sure the terminals were clean, and that still didn't fix it.

Aug 2, 2011I have a problem with the autoplay, USB and card reader are fine however when using either music CD, or DVD or software CD the autoplay doesn't kick in, when I browse the disk and select autoplay manualy it will start, I have set up everything in my autoplay setting in the control panel (including the check mark on the top), still nothing. I have window 7 home premium. I should point out that the drive is Bluray drive, also this autoplay hasn't worked from the very begining, since the laptop is new, it's very frustrating, I can't find any drivers for the device on ASUS site.

Jan 7, 2010I'm running Windows 7 build 7077. I've messed around with all the autostart/autoplay settings I can find. But I can't find a way to change my optical drive default in Explorer from Play to Open(as in explore the folders not play the video.)
It's just a nuisance to forget, double click, get the error(because I have WMP disabled in local security policy) then right click on the drive icon and click Open. Life would be easier if I could just double-click it!! Anyone know the secret?

Jan 30, 2012how to prevent the Autoplay box from appearing every time LaCie backs up? It happens several times a day even though I've set Autoplay to Take No Action. When I go and check I see Autoplay has reverted to Ask me Every Time even though I click Save. LaCie is backing up ok and this only happens with Mixed Content.I have Windows 7, MalwareBytes, AVG and use FF as my browser.

I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. I ran the Microsoft FixIt application but it did not resolve the problem. Fresh install of windows 7. Brand new cdr's. Also, when I insert a blank CD, it doesn't show up in My Computer, however if I insert a CD with data on it(or music), it shows up. Also should point out I have VirtualCloneDrive installed.

Aug 25, 2011I recently bought an ASUS laptop with this configuration: AMD Brazos Dual Core E350, 2GB ram memory which 1.6GB are usable and I guess that the rest it's for video and AMD Radeon HD 6310M graphic card, but i can't play 1080p movies. I have read some reviews and it says that can play smoothly 1080p movies...and i wonder why this isn't work.
