Outlook 2007 Doesn't Remember Windows Size

Dec 29, 2010

I've just installed Windows 7-64 and Office 2007. When I open Outlook the window size is half the screen. I would like it bigger and drag the bottom of the window to the bottom of the screen. When I close Outlook and re-open, it reverts to the old window size and does not remember what I had set it to. How can I get it to remember the size it want?

Change Size Of Folder Icons And Text In Outlook 2007

May 23, 2010

Okay, so a friend of my dad told him that he used to see the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007 in a bigger font/size before switching to a new computer with Windows 7. Obviously, we all know that upgrading Windows won't change font sizes that are coded into independent programs, so I'm thinking that maybe his old computer was running at a lower resolution. Anywho, my dad's friend asked my dad to ask me this question, and since I don't use Office 2007 anymore, I need to ask you: is there a way to change the size of the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007, without changing the size of anything else?

Outlook 2007 File Size On Disk Stays Same After Archiving

Jan 16, 2012

For some reason, when I archive my personal folder, the size of the outlook.pst is not decreasing? I'm following the same steps, e.g. I close outlook after archiving, then re-open and compact the personal folder. From WITHIN Outlook, the personal folder size shows that it's been reduced significantly. But from my file manager view, the file size continues to grow, and is now approaching 2G. While I know this Outlook 2003 2G max limitation was "fixed" in Outlook 2007, I still don't understand why the size on disk doesn't reflect the fact that I've archived?

I'm running Outook 2007 under Windows 7 (64 bit)

I'm assuming this may be a problem because Outlook occasionally hoses up for no apparent reason?

I checked my page file size versus my RAM and since they were both ~ 6G, I followed the advice received elsewhere in this forum to increase the page file size. I have now set it at 9G to 12G.

Why Can't Windows 7 Remember Window Size & Position Like XP

Jan 7, 2012

What is the rational (if there actually is any) of not allowing one to save window size & position (other than the last window opened)?

Without using a 3rd party program (which seems to be the norm with Win7) has someone found a way to allow saving resized windows other than the last window opened??

Windows 7 Bug Doesn't Remember Admin Password

Feb 22, 2010

I have Windows 7 32-bit(official RTM, clean install) only 1 account on it which of course is Admin.Sometimes when I press the Windows button + l to lock the screen and come back after a few minutes, enter the password but Windows 7 reports it as wrong password all the time. I have had the same password for 3 years so I know for sure I entered it correctly all in lower case. Also, if I deliberately try to enter a wrong password when my normal one doesn't work, I get the white round circle indicating that its being processed. Then after like 3 minutes, Windows 7 reports it as being the wrong password (the correct behavior from Windows 7 would have been to reject the the wrong password immediately). So I have to do a manual shutdown as it's the option left. I have tried to reinstall Windows 7 many times but this problem just keeps happening randomly.

File Explorer Doesn't Remember Position?

Dec 24, 2010

I've noticed that, when I put my computer to sleep and wake it back up, if I have a file explorer window open with a large list of files (several pages of family pictures in a detailed list view), the window defaults to the first (top) file in the list -- if I am clicking through pictures several pages down, and then sleep/wake the computer, while the last file I clicked remains highlighted, I have to scroll all the way down to find it again.

Export Outlook Express XP Into Outlook 2007

Dec 28, 2009

I have an old XP laptop which I was using Outlook Express for one of my mail accounts (a work account). I also ran regular Outlook for another (personal). I want to have both of these accounts on my new PC.

My new PC is running Windows 7 wiht Office 2007. I used the Windows transfer cable and things worked failry well. My regular Outlook files all came over well, but nothing for Outlook Express.

I really would like to take this time to somehow export my OE files into my Outlook 2007. I would really like to keep the account which imported in on Outlook seperate.

Question 1: Is there a way to import my OE files into Outlook 2007?

Question 2: Is there a way to have two seperate email accounts in Outlook without combining them? Basically I want to have a work email and a personal and keep them seperate.

If I can't have two seperate emails with Outlook, can anyone suggest something which would allow me to export my old Outlook (the old personal emails) into another program so that I can at least use my work email on Outlook 2007?

Outlook 2007 Stops Working On Windows 7?

Dec 27, 2011

I used outlook 2007 for years on XP with same account settings and no issues. I got a new pc with windows 7 and now it is constantly stops working. I have 8 IMAP accounts, and it is always a different one that causes it. For instance, 1 day i can look at 7 account, but as soon as i look at an 8th outlook stops working. The only way to fix it is remove the account and reconfigure it all over again. then a day or two later a different account will start doing the same thing. So basically, i am having to re configure my accounts every couple of days.

Compatibility: Windows 7 Pro X64 And Outlook 2007 And IPhone4 Sync?

Aug 21, 2011

I live by Outlook and I use 2007 because it syncs with the iPhone 4. If I can't make this work, then I won't buy a new computer now, but to be honest, I really want this to work.

(1) I've read many complaints elsewhere that Outlook 2007 doesn't run on the 64 bit Windows 7 Professional. Does anyone here have any experience with that?

(2) I'm not against buying a new Office 2010 with Outlook 2010 but...again from comments online, it doesn't seem to sync the iPhone 4 properly.

Windows 7: Outlook 2007 Losing Focus When Opening A New Mail?

Nov 29, 2009

I have Windows 7 Ultimate built from scratch, (although this same issue happened before the rebuild, from an upgrade to Windows 7 Pro from Windows Vista); Windows 7 is build 7600.I have a multiple monitor setup and Outlook runs on the r/h screen. When I use Outlook 2007, I click new mail, and the new message window opens on the l/h screen. Same when I click reply or forward. Whether I am opening a new message, or replying/forwarding an existing message, sometimes, (and it really is sporadic), the new message window won't take focus. So when I started to type, my focus shoots up and down on the Outlook window; e.g. if I hit H to start typing H, it will try and jump to a message starting with H.

Outlook 2007 Remove_Reinstall?

Nov 28, 2012

Today I found a particularity that may indicate I need to fully uninstall Office 2007/Outlook 2007 and reinstall fresh. I wanted to export > excel the Contacts. What I ended up with were the titles: Subject, Address, Name and so forth. Not one address out of hundreds showed up. The export failed to create a list of Contacts.I then did a export > csv . Nothing.

I looked at my earlier backups from months ago and they are complete to that point in time. There are particularities with this incarnation of Outlook 2007 such as the inability to export > to do a decent auto complete. Little annoying things that I never experienced in Outlook 2003. I feel I should remove Office 2007 and reinstall fresh.I think the Outlook 2007 is damaged. The way to prove true would be a reinstall.I did the diag and repair and nothing came up. All scores came up with a pass.

Outlook 2007 Will Not Save Password?

Sep 21, 2011

I'm running Outlook 2007 with Windows 7 on my Dell Vostro 220. I recently started getting the popup prompting me to save my password in outlook. This has happened before on other computers in my office and we normally fix it by changing the password. This time I've changed the passwords, tried everything listed here - [URL] and it still wont save. I am prompted for the password every time I try to run a send/receive or when any email comes in or out. At first I would just hit save two or three times and it would go away for a little while until I got another email but the the emails would be sent or received. Now I am getting incoming emails but cant send, it just keeps popping back up.
