View 4 Replies View RelatedOur group has a wireless network. We can print to the laser printer with no difficulty if we are printing from word or email. If we are printing from IE, you can see the job go through the spooler queue and printer makes a 'startup' noise - then nothing. No print. No error.
Makes it difficult since we are a real estate company and our MLS listings are on the internet.
Oh - and I'm told this doesn't happen if we use firefox or chrome!
I've installed the printer software on my laptop and successfully tested the ability to print when connected via USB. I also added the computer as a wireless connection. When I try to print wirelessly, nothing happens. The document just sits in the queue.I do not currently have the printer hooked up to anything but power. Am I wrong in thinking I should be able to print without a computer attached to the printer? If not, how can I troubleshoot this? Printer is HP c3180 AIO and laptop is HP Pavilion DV6.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HP OfficeJet 6500 is only using the black cartridge and not the color cartridges, which are brand new and I performed a head cleaning. The issue appears to be at the printer level and not from the PC, since even a copy in color will use only the Black cartridge.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Color Laserjet 2820 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier attached to my PC. My PC is a Dell 1545 laptop running 64-bit Windows 7. I can print and scan on the printer using the software on my computer. My wife has a Compaq 615 laptop running 32-bit Windows 7. We share a home wireless network. She can print to the 2820 printer wirelessly, but not scan: the scan options do not appear in her driver software, when she is connected wirelessly. If she picks up her computer, crosses the room with it, and plugs the printer USB cable into the side of her Compaq laptop, then opens the printer software, the scan options are available and she can scan direct to her PC.Can we arrange it so that she can use the scanner functions wirelessly?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSystem is HP desktop running W7-64 bit. Printer is HP Photosmart 7350, old but working perfectly until 2 days ago. Driver is Deskjet 5550 (closest one for this printer).
I've reinstalled the driver, plugged and unplugged the printer, and tried to print from different programs. As soon as the print button is selected the error condition shows in the Devices & Printers section. This happens whether the printer is turned on or not.
What can I do to get the printer running again?
I have checked my DELL Latitude 6500 laptop running WinXP Pro using the Windows 7 upgrade advisor tool, and everythihng is a go. I also know that I need to do a good backup of my critical files and the pictures I want to keep.I have had many people tell me that before I make such a change in operating systems, do a backup first, because Windows 7 requires a clean startup, because there is no upgrade from XP to Win7.Is there an easy way to keep these work related files, and .jpg pictures using a simpler backup process than the software backup program called Acronis?I have also read that there is a program that will run at the same time as Windows 7, like a separate operating system called XP Mode. As I understand it, XP mode runs in a separate window on the Windows 7 desktop, much like a program, except it's a fully functional version of Windows XP. In Windows XP Mode, I think you can also access your computer's CD/DVD drive, install programs, save files, and perform other tasks as if you were using a computer running Windows XP.I am not sure Acronis can be installed on this DELL Out-of-Warranty Win XP laptop, if I am currently using it for my desktop with Win 7 Ultimate. Once the critical files and .jpg photos are saved on an external hard drive, can I bring them back onto the laptop on the same harddrive with the new operating system Win 7 files, or do I need to partition the laptop harddrive, or does it matter if I use them with Win XP Mode?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI tried to do a Repair Install following this tutorial, but the Compatibility Report says:"Windows 7 Professional cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. You can choose to install a new copy of Windows 7 Professional instead, but this is different from an upgrade, and does not keep your files, settings, and programs. You'll need to reinstall any programs using the original installation discs or files. To save your files before installing Windows, back them up to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive. To install a new copy of Windows 7 Professional, click the Back button in the upper left-hand corner, and select "Custom (advanced)"." I have Win 7 SP1, but only a Win 7 disc without SP1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy office printer, HP Color Laserjet CM6040mfp, prints nicely when I just print "normally" from Word or Excel. When I try to automatize it with a .bat file, it doesn't work. I have x64 Windows 7. Another computer has x86 Windows 7 and it works nicely.
The error I receive is: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000705). Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver.Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver." So what do I need to install? The actual thing I'm trying to do is to print out test pages from several printers using a VBA script. This CM6040mfp happens to be the closest one to my room so that's the one I begin with.
when I go to print a document, sometimes the save window opens up and no matter what I do it will not print. I have a document save in a certain font size and when i try to print it the font increases by itself and its too big for the page.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been struggling for days to find a solution with an annoying printing problem on my new Windows 7 (64bit) HP Laptop. I can not print from my HP Laptop to any printers on my older XP Desktop wirelessly over my home network. I can open files from my shared folders on my XP desktop from my Windows 7 Laptop, etc. I can see all of the printers when I "Add a Printer" - but it tells me that:
"Windows can't find a driver for Canon iP4300 on the network."
I cannot find a driver manually and have installed a Windows 7 compatible driver for the iP4300 on my Laptop, etc. - no luck.
When I connect the same XP Printer directly to my Laptop by USB cable - it prints find. But, I can't seem to find a solution to my wireless problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a new Dell computer with Windows 7. I am trying to print PDF files with a Xerox 7750 printer. I have downloaded the Xerox driver to the new computer, the printer is connected via USB. Each time I try to print the PDF file(s), they do not print on the entire page (8.5x11). All data on a page is printed but it is printed as a 1/2 page and in landscape, not portrait. I have tried to adjust the printer settings via Windows 7 (print window) but cannot get the document printed correctly.

Certain things I do on my computer take a very long time, such as printing. This all started about a week or so ago. Each step of the printing process (choosing a printer, changing print settings, sending the print job) now take 5-10 minutes when they used to be nearly instantaneous.
I've noticed slowness for some other functions as well (of course, I can't remember specifics at the moment) but it is most pronounced when printing (from any program). It *might* have started happening after either the Windows update or Adobe update that came out recently. At one point, I was giving a presentation and my computer completely froze for all local functions except switching tabs. The Task Manager showed nothing unusual and one of the tabs had Citrix loaded and I was able to use that just fine.I have a Dell Latitude E6410 running Windows 7. At the above linked thread I ran several scans that all came back negative for viruses or malware, so there must be some setting out of whack or another conflict.
Total configuration is:
1 desktop running Windows XP - no problems
1 Virgin Router
I HP Wireless printer
1 Laptop running Windows 7.
When running Word, the laptop experiences no problems priting remotely. However, when running IE89 which includes e-mail, the laptop cannot print remotely, but works fine if connected through the USB port.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, SP1. My hardware supports hardware rendering. I get a script error when trying to print in IE9 32 bit, and in Windows Live Mail. IE9 64 bit printing works fine. Also, if I select File-->Page Setup while in IE9 32 bit, and check OK without changing anything, printing works as long as that instance of IE9 is open. If I close it, and reopen, the same script error occurs until I do the File-->Page Setup again. Printing in Live Mail never works. I have reregistered ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll.
