Got an application that listens to (a number of) UDP multicast data streams.
Application works correct on XP and Vista.
On Windows 7 the application also works correct if the PC is directly connected to our (private multicast) network, only not if a VPN connection is used to the network. Th VPN connection itself works fine (i can ping the host machine) but no multicast is received.
Used Microsoft Network Monitor to trace the mulicast messages. If the PC is connected directly to the network, IGMP Report messages are send if the appliaction is started.
If the VPN connection is used, no IGMP Reports are send. IGMP queries are received from the router but the PC doesn't response with IGMP reports. Disabled the firewall but this didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?
I have Windows 7 64 bit and the Action Center reports Kaspersky Problems, but I do not have it installed on my PC (see below) - why would this be and should i do anything abo*** Just did a full Virus scan and no virus found*** Using MS Security Essentials = ON*** MS Windows defender = OFF Address a problem with Kaspersky Internet Security or Anti-VirusKaspersky Internet Security or Anti-Virus has stopped working properly.A newer version of Kaspersky Internet Security or Anti-Virus is available for download that might solve this problem. The last microsoft updates that were downloaded failed to run properly and I had to roll back the machine a couple of days. When I do this I always get an error at the end saying system restore failed, it may be your anti-virus dadadada.I disable the real-time protection but no matter. I still get this error but the machine does get rolled back. I don't understand why I am getting this error when things appear to be restored to an earlier date.. ???Also, anyone else have problems with the last windows update release on Tuesday?
Want to generate the reports in the sticky (attacking folders as a zip). I've done the first report and have the folder (Windows_N6_BSOD). How do I ZIP this exactly?
The third step (Start>perfmon/report). I type this into the search bar in start and don't get anything? (I have Windows 7).
I want to be able to put all the info as requested as I'm getting a few random crashes on startup (including the occasional BSOD). But obviously I want to be able to give the correct info to the experts on here.
I do computer support for a living and multiple customers have contacted me in the last 2 weeks stating that their Windows 7 computers are freezing intermittantly. I have performed a number of tasks on one of my customers PC. I updated the video drivers, I updated any programs that were requesting updates (Java, Adobe, Microsoft). I cleaned out all the temp files. I changed the anti-virus software from Webroot to Malwarebytes. I have searched through the event logs (both System & Application) and there are no patterns.
I have HP 6150ew laptop with 4GB of RAM (+1024MB pagefile). I am working on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate version. Usually I have a lot of Chrome pages opened (like 20), MS Outlook, uTorrent + Excel/Word. The problem is that often I receive memory low message and from time to time Chrome crashes. If I will launch AutoCAD/Photosop, Chrome immeadately crashes from because of the low memory. That was not the case when I had a fresh system so I suspect some kind of infection.
I have also installed VMWare Workstation some time ago. From time to time I run only one test VM which has 1,9GB ram assigned, but at the time a got these memory monits, VM was not running (VMWare had a few kB of RAM assigned) so I guess VMWare is not taking 1,9GB at all times.
I ran ComboFix, maybe someone could look at the report file Code: ComboFix 12-08-30.05 - kuki 2012-08-31 0:18.1.4 - x64 Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7601.1.1250.48.1045.18.4044.2707 [GMT 2:00]
I keep getting this after a AVG scan. It goes away if I delete my restore points, but comes back in a few days. It's not every restore point, jus a few.
The F drive report is where my system backup is.

Recently bought used 120GB OCZ SSD, It came with some files & on checking the drive reported as being full.On checking the actual file size they totalled 40gig. I cleaned out the drive, did a firmware upgrade, changed the bios to ACHI. On a restart the drive reported correctly, initially & after I had transferred files onto it.While running a flight sim loaded onto the drive I got a message that the drive was full, but it is nowhere near full in fact.
This has been a problem I had for a while now, my GPU is Ati 5850 but windows thinks is 3870, I go into dxdiag or a game for ex Deus Ex HR and there it is, it's not that big of a problem pretty much things work fine like DX11 but in DE:HR I can't select the advanced DX11 options because the system thinks I have an old 3870. Now I would really like to solve this, should be a matter of just deleting the right files/registry right, problem is I've tried that uninstalled ati, used driver swepper to remove everything ati related and the problem remains. Maybe I had an 3870 before really can't remember, I did a dual boot with a new x64 Windows 7 and there everything is fine.
Its my own fault, I was doing this in a daze. Having installed the new SSD and gone into Windows 7 setup, I thought id created a new partition on the drive for Windows to go on. Anyways, Windows was saying there was some sort of problem, so I thought, ok , rinse & repeat - and so I hit delete...Now nothing is showing up in the drive list. It is visible in bios - and I've since used the OCZ boot disk and did a secure wipe. Still nothing. So I used a PartitionWizard boot disc, and created a brand new NTFS system partition. Still nothing. Do I need some drivers or something? Setup does say I could use a disk to find some...
I have a HP Notebook with 4GB of memory. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. The processor is Intel i3 2.20GHz. I have the free AVG installed as my anti virus program and I believe that I am getting some inaccurate reports from it. The following has happened three times witnin the past couple of weeks: A message pops up that says, "AVG has reported Internet Explorer is in high memory usage. It is recommended that you close some of the programs that are open." Those may not be the exact words but basically that is what it was telling me. I had no applications open and had only two or maybe three at the most pages open. I would certainly think that 4GB of memory would take care of having three pages open in IE. Could it be that AVG is just giving some false reports?
I recently got some work done on my machine at a "PC fixit" store. It was unbootable due to an encryption issue that I had created, so as part of the service, they loaded Ultimate on it. When I got the machine back, it worked fine, but I couldn't shut it down without holding down the power button (would always reboot). I still don't have any issues with my machine, but when I run scannow (many times) I get errors about seemingly important files, but I can't tell if I have cause for concern, or what the next steps should be, since I don't have any way to replace the corrupted files. I would prefer not to have the OS reloaded.
Recently my audio manager pops up advising that I have diconnected my speakers however, I'll be listening to music or watching tv with no sound loss or interuption. Device manager indicates all drivers are up to date (vers: 6.0.1.6251). What's causing this and how do I correct it?
I have just purchased a new 3XS system from SCAN computers (Vengence). The system has a 120GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. The SSD is used for the OS and programs and the HDD is supposed to be data. The SSD seems to be working fine and Windows 7 agrees. The same can be said for the HDD, however when opening the HDD folder in Explorer and clicking properties, the system reports that there is only 300MB or so on the drive.I have enabled, intialised and assigned a letter to the drive myself, after it was not detected by the OS. I did so in device manager/disk drives by right clicking the drive. When in Properties/Volumes and populating the data, the HDD is recognised as 1TB. It just seems to be the (E folder in Explorer that the device is shown as 300MB. I have tried to drag and drop a 15GB program folder into the Device folder, but it informs me that there is not enough space on the disk to do so.
How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Microsoft reports that "The Service is unavailable." I have tried to access my Hotmail account in FF and IE9, no success. Anyone else having this problem, or is it just the UK? Or even just me?
I started getting a "DNS not responding"? on my desktop. All my wireless devices work fine, and when I turn off my laptop's WiFi card and plug it into the same router it works as well.I've done some Googleing on the issue and none of what I found has helped. When I do an ipconfig on each maching, the thing I notice is that on the working laptop I have an entry for the "Connection specific DNS suffix under the "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection", where on the desktop that's not working the suffix is blank.
Internet connection over an electrical Powerline instead of a wireless connection?is it easy to setup, reliable, fast,..?More in particular a D-Link device:DHP-307AV PowerLine Homeplug AV Kit
is it possible to make a VPN connection over multiple internet connection ? if this is possible then you can make multiple connection transparent to other applications running on ur pc.
I am using a nokia E66 to connect to the internet at home. My pc at home is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I am currently using nokia pc suite 7.1.40.1. All the software installed without any problems. The problem that I am having is that after I connect to the internet, I can only roughly download / upload about 5MB of data and the connection will time out. I do not get any error messages that is did timeout. The only way I know this is that I stop seeing data being transferred in Network properties.
I then open my e-mail client to see If I can connect with a POP account and then I get an error saying it could not connect to the e-mail account. I then have to disconnect and reconnect and try again. This does not seem to affect web browsing though, only when I am downloading files. Like Steam will start update and stop, windows updates will start download and stop and so on.
I initially thought it was a problem with the network operator, but when I boot back in xp (my pc is set up to dual boot between xp and 7) every thing works fine. No download time outs. Is it the nokia software that is not supporting 7 100% yet or am I missing something else?
I am getting the above message after troubleshooting. I have just switched to a new computer with windows 7 pre-installed.
All fine on old computer running XP Getting unidentified network + above error message. enabling/disabling card, checking for Bonjour service string and the like but no luck.
I have a load of spare USB cables, i want to make a male to male USB cable, then i want to put one end into my main gaming PC and the other end into my secondary gaming PC.
My question, what will happen exactly? Will it blow up? Will one of my PC's recognize new hardware? Will nothing happen? Will they work together and become a super AI like skynet? (I mean, both PC's are pretty powerful, i wouldn't be surprised)
im using window 7 ultimate 2gb ram and amd 3.0ghz i got this BSOD daily when i lost connection or my computer doesnt detect internet connection
Code: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by driver: ndis.sys caused by address: ndis.sys+68bad file description: NDIS 6.20 driver i already update all my drivers and my windows update is automatic
After removing Trojan with instructions from a post here, I have lost all connection to internet. Nothing wrong with router as laptop working fine.Have reset Winsock, Ipv4 and 6 and nothing.
I am able to access the internet through my wireless work computer and xbox. my home dell laptop will not connect to the internet. It is showing that i am connected to the linksys but Access type says no internet connection. I have already tried and ran FSS.exe becuase thought it might be a malware issue.
I have this red X on the connection icon in the tray but everything "appears" to be OK. Nothing is showing wrong I can find and i can surf the web just fine. One other thing that may or may not be related is Thunderbird doesn't seem to want to download my email from Gmail. I open TB and I have a blank inbox, with the spinning working thing next to "Inbox" at the top of the tab. Does not retrieve email from Gmail and if i select a local folder for email the spinning working thingy goes away.
