No Driver For The Built In Webcam On Toshiba L300
im running Windows 7 on a toshiba l300 lappy it orignaly had vista on it but im not in to it for many reasons so i decided to try Windows 7 every thing went well on the install the only prob i have found at the moment is that i have no driver for the built in webcam.

I use Toshiba L300, after upgrading (custom install) my OS from vista home premium to windows 7 professional, my webcam does not work. It uses chicony camera assistance software for toshiba. Everytime, I get an error message "webcam driver open fail. restart your camera or computer". I checked the toshiba support site for dirver update, but it says the vista driver for that webcam is compatible with windows 7 as well. I reinstalled/restarted several times, however, I can't make it work anyway! Help me please. Thanks.

Install On Toshiba L300-1DN
I will have the chance to move a Toshiba Satellite L300-1DN from Vista HP (pre-installed) to Windows 7 Pro (clean install). Am in two minds about this and would like to see significantly less CPU use to make it worth it otherwise I will save my disk for another project. Also has anyone had experience of clean installs of Windows 7 on Toshiba laptops with Vista on them and are there any functionality problems to watch out for in this process?

Toshiba L300-28W Monitor Troubles
I recently bought a laptop: Toshiba L300-28W (core 2) (3gb) Mid range Core2 Duo T5870 2.0/3gb ram / 250gb hd / 15.4” wide XGA CSV/ IntelGM45 /DVD-SM/11agn/Cam0.3 But i like having a larger monitor, so I plugged it into the the port. However and Ive tested this with two different monitor and cables and found the same problem. I get like a stroby effect across the screen (suppose like when its not plugged in correctly), its always in on in the back ground but then suddenly speeds up and then slows down again. Ive tried increasing the refresh rate from 60 to 70Hz and still no change. Ive also tired updating the hardware but it still is flickering. So any suggestions?

Toshiba Satellite L300 Camera And Modem Problem
I upgraded windows Vista on my Toshiba satellite L300 (intel 45 express chipset,core 2 Duo 2GHz processor) with Windows 7. All drivers taken automatically. But when I started Webcam (chicony webcam) a message appeared: "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart Camera or Computer." Message persists after restarting repeatedly. Same with Modem, When I tried to connect Internet on Dial up modem, message appeared "Dial tone not present." Actually Dial tone was present. Device manager is showing both devices as "Working Properly". Can any one suggest solution?

Toshiba Satellite Webcam Driver Code 19
The webcam driver for my Toshiba Satellite didn't make the transition to Windows 7 from Vista. The Device manager says it is up to date, but also says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" Any ideas?

HP PAVILION Built-in Webcam
Who knows how many people complained for following issue BUILT-IN WEBCAM WON'T WORK UNDER WINDOWS 7RC! All right, I have the same problem, but I just could't find similar thread on any forum. So, I installed win7 RC over win 7 beta (clean install not an update). Everything went smoothly, drivers all found and instaled, device manager showing no yellow exclamation triangles. Every bit of hardware is in place, everything works perfectly according to system diagnostic. BUT, webcam shows no picture. Driver is properly installed and has no collisions with other system resources. Interesting thing was, that camera was working excellent under win 7 beta. I don't know what has changed in win 7RC, but camera just won't start. If anyone has any solution or similar issue, please don't hesitate to post a reply. Oh yeah, my configuration: HP PAVILION dv 6670el Entertainment PC intel core2duo 2.0 GHz 2GB RAM 160GB HDD NVIDIA 8400gs video card HP built-in webcam (at least that's what system information says) 1.3Mpix

MSi GT735 Built In Webcam Not Working
The webcam manufacturer is listed as Chicony ,(Sonix260) It appears in the Device Stage as "CNF7231", and in the properties window has the following device id string: USBVID_04F2&PID_B073&REV_1208&MI_00 I have tried the driver that is auto-installed by the OS, the drivers available from MSi's website, the drivers for other models in the same series (laptops with the same chassis and same webcam installed). I've tied using installers and manual installs. Tried in both compatibility mode and running as administrator, and all combinations with and without these. I tried all the drivers on sonix website and i've tried drivers from MS driver database. I've installed a play-tool called Crazy Talk Cam Suite - which reports that there is no camera found? but there is a camera, it is at least present, and drivers are loaded, and report that they are working. Microsoft LiveCam also doesn't work. Skype shows a black screen, though it finds the camera. The camera has a small yellow LED which illuminates when the camera is in use... this never goes on. I have verified that the camera is still working in Linux, so there appears to be no fault with the hardware. I notice that MANY other users are reporting that their webcams are not working - especially internal ones. Is this a problem with Win7 or the drivers?

Dell E6400 Laptop USB (Built-In) Webcam Problem
After searching the web and this forum for some answers I realized there are many many problems with USB Webcams from different manufacturers. (please see the link below). My PC is fairly new Dell E6400 Laptop (Duo II with 4GB of RAM and nVidia video card with 256MB) with integrated Creative Webcam and despite all my efforts, installing different drivers in different compatiibility modes including the one released by Dell/Creative only few weeks ago - my webcam does not work. The driver is installed and the device is being reported by Device Manager as working properly yet none of the applications such as Windows Live Messenger not Skype can utilize the video stream, reporting inability to connect to webcam and that a "different application is utilizing camera". Since I found threads regarding many different webcam vendors (including MS), PC configurations and drivers involved I suspect that this is an issue with Windows 7 itself and not the webcams nor their drivers. BTW. My webcam was properly working under Vista 64 i.e. before the upgrade to Win7 RC (7100). I am frsustrated that there is no release regarding this issue anb no available solution / fix to the problem. What is going on?

i recently installed windows 7 64 bit and i had done back up of all my drivers using driver magician and all the drivers restored well and no conflit. But i have a problem with my camera, in the device manager it says that the device is working correctly but i cant see it anywhere, i went to my computer, start up, programs but there is no where to start it, am i missing something? device manager says device working so i am all confused, i did driver update and it said that the driver is the latest one any idea? in vista in the left hand there would be the web-cam thing hidden and when you put your cursor there it would pop up and start the web-cam,,

Chicony Webcam On Toshiba Laptop
My Laptop is 12 months old. The buil-in webcam would activate when moving the cursor to the extreme left. Under Win7 this does not happen. Using hardware trouble shooter Win7 tells me that the device is working correctly but I can not access it. Â Also my Toshiba utuilities are not available. i.e. my CD accoustic silenser for example

Chicony WebCam On Toshiba A355 Failure
I have a Satellite A355 with Windows 7 installed. Just presciently my Chicony USB 2.0 WebCam (built-in) stopped working with skype. Checked drivers and all are working properly. The laptop has not been dropped/mishandled; the device suddenly quit.

No Built-in Driver: Marvell Yukon NIC
From my understanding the Marvell Yukon NIC is quite popular on several motherboard manufacturers, including Asus. I have an Asus P5B-Deluxe and was shocked to see after loading W7 I had no network connection. Thankfully I had a laptop which was working, so I could download the Marvell driver. Given that NICs are vitally important, I hope MS can include Marvell drivers in the RC and RTM releases.  I'm using this driver: http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?driverId=154

Dv6000 Webcam Driver
I have a HP Pavilion dv6238ea and it had xp on it and the webcam driver i downloaded from hp.com worked fine. Then i formatted it and installed windows 7 in it. Windows 7 detected the webcam and installed the driver. The webcam shows as ''HP Webcam 1000" and the manufacturer is "Micro Vision" and also the driver is provided by 'Micro Vision'. But it doesn't work. It only shows a black screen. I downloaded the vista driver from hp.com for my laptop(HP Webcam Driver with Firmware Upgrade for Microsoft Windows Vista HP Pavilion dv6238ea Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) but it is not able to install. It gives an error. There is no available driver for windows 7 for this laptop (or any dv6000 series i think) on hp.com Can anyone help in solving this?

Sonix Webcam Driver
I have a crappy E-Bay purchased Webcam, I used some random Sonix drivers last time, and I could've just as easily used a driverscanner, since I was running XP. However, try as I may, all of the drivers I use, including ones I got from the manufacturer, fail horribly. Sometimes they install, but AMCAP won't recognize that I have any hardware plugged in, Driver Detective had found a driver, but I can't pay for it. I'd be willing to do almost anything to fix this issue.

Labtec Webcam Pro Driver Missing
My USB Labtec Webcam Pro does not install. Win 7 driver missing. The webcam has been tested under Win XP/SP2/SP3 and Win Vista/SP1/SP2 without problem. I tried Compatibility Mode (Vista, Vista/SP1, Vista/SP2, XP/SP2 and XP/SP3) but the webcam although it shows in the device list, is not recognised. The webcam Mic works fine. Virtualization Blocked By Webcam Driver Install
Discovered after several fresh installs after playing with virtualization that is was blocked by webcam install.. The webcam works okay (s8850i by sonix) in 7/64 and good in skype..but stops virtualization dead till it is disabled or uninstalled. From my experience with it so far Virtualization seems very easily disrupted. I just seem to get over one thing and something else plays up...having real second thoughts as all these things go great in xp now. Anyway thought this info might help someone if they find the virtualization installed ok but wont run, check by disabling drivers, webcams seem to be a real issue in the win 7 64.
