I recently installed some updates in my Proline notebook, but after installing the 30 percent, it failed to restart, with the screen showing nothing (as if it's off). I then tried to restore it to an earlier time via safe mode but the restore point available is only the one as at the time of the update. I tried to create a restore point, but when i tried, i cannot even find system protection when i looked for it and it directs me to system properties where my computer's description is blank and it cannot be edited.Even the updates cannot be uninstalled via safe mode.Is there no other options i can try in order to start my laptop normally again?
I am sure that I somehow messed this up big time. The Samsung Netbook is an N145 Plus. It works fine when hooked to the internet via cable. When I first started to hook up wifi I was given options such as who did I want to connect to etc. I think I need to reset the Home group/public places fields and try it again from the start. I'm not looking to use wireless for home at this time. I need to set this up for Public Places connection and tight security for my wife so that she can use this pc while she waits for her clients in court or doctors offices. I have never worked with wireless before and am really lost. I have an Atheros AR9825 adapter with updated software and drivers and an Asus USB N10 wifi antenna with current drivers in place.
I recently put together a new computer and used my old hard drive in it. Ever since then I get random crashes, blue screens, windows errors, and hard drive failures. I want to know if I wiped the HD and reinstalled Windows 7, then put all my programs, folders, and settings back on via restore from my external hard drive will it fix those problems,or will the restore make them come back.
I have tried to uninstall McAfee 5 times each time I have had to restore to get the computer back up and running.First I uninstalled with windows then I uninstalled with McAfee tool then I right clicked it to run as admin then I found a setting in McAfee that said do not delete McAfee system files changed that then I tried in safe mode still no luck called McAfee then did remote tech support they uninstalled it and it blues creened. Now they are saying it is not their fault since McAfee is uninstalled!!

I need to restore the windows 7 back to factory settings i dont have it backed up and i dont have a disk . i downloaded a dell webcam central upgrade and it wiped out drivers and i need them back. I have trouble shooted cleaned the computer corrected errors on it... iv done it all.
My Laptop came with Raid 0 over 2 one terrabyte harddisks. Last week i started getting Drive 1 at risk message. I looked it up and it turns out that this message occurs some time before your drive fails.I did a Full computer backup using windows Back up utility using an external Hard drive. Now I'm going to buy a new internal Hard drive to replace the faulty one. What are the steps i have to do to back up properly? After some search,I learned that:
1_ Backup everything. 2_ Replace Faulty drive. 3_ Rebuild Raid 0 array. 4_ Restore the system image.
Does the new internal Hard drive have to be the same brand/type/size as the old Faulty hard drive? Also I've never used Raid, so how do i recreate a new raid 0 array ? From Bios ? Should i create a repair disk too ? or would Windows dvd work?
i was speaking to my brother last nite who was trying to open a website it said he needed Adobe pdf , so he downloaded this and was able to see the site ,however after he noticed that all the desktop icons had adobe signs in them, my question is why did this happen and how does he restore icons back to there original appearance.
I have a computer with the F10 option when I first turn on the computer. The hard drive failed so I have replaced it and installed windows 7. I am wondering if I can create a recovery partition when I turn on the computer and use the F10 option to restore back to when I first installed windows 7?
I have a failing hard drive on my laptop, when i proceed to buy a new one, what do i need to do to get windows 7 onto the new hard drive? can i do that with system restore or back up software?
On this recent windows update, 2/14/13, my computer froze on the "Preparing to configure windows" screen for several hours. I rebooted normally and the screen went to "configuring updates" and stuck at 67% for about an hour. I got frustrated with it and rebooted to safe mode to see if I could do a system restore and when I did it said there was no restore point back up! So I rebooted normally and now it is still just sitting on the "Preparing to Configure Windows" screen with the circle spinning. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Dimension 2400.
I have a w.d. external drive for my backup, did the backup worked ok now cant set a backup time sends me back to c drive when i go to change time.I uninstalled the w.d. software windows is running it anyway just cant set time worked before as far as i know.
I've just upgraded my Media Centre from Vista x64 to Windows 7 x64.Previously when watching recorded TV I could use the skip fwd/back buttons on my remote &/or keyboard to skip fwd 30 secs, or back 7 seconds; however this no longer works. They do however work perfectly when watching/listening to Movies/Music.The on screen skip buttons still perform the same task (fwd 30s, back 7s).Reading other forum posts I gather this is because the skip buttons are looking for the next track and by its nature recorded TV doesn't have any tracks. Is there a way of editing the registry to reprogram the buttons to skip fwd a specified time frame when watching recorded TV? I'm using a logitech dinovo edge keyboard for which I've installed the latest drivers. I also use my iPhone with JumiMouse as a Remote and a Hauppage TV Tuner Remote, all the above have the same problem.
i restored my computer to windows xp restore point from windows 7 , now have realised i need some files in windows 7 my documents and want to go back to win7 ,how do i do that any special software needed?
I am trying to create a system restore point and keep getting the following message"The restore point could not be created for the following reason - Access is denied(0x80070005) please try again....I need to set a restore point as there are not any on my computer even when i run things which ask if i would like to create a system restore point before continuing is just not happening.
A couple of days ago I uninstalled 2 programs that I didn't need anymore Now I think I may need one of themI've tried to run System Restore but I keep getting an error message I disabled MSE and PrevX and it still would not restore .Now I'm not too worried about getting the program back but would like to be able to restore my system if I ever need to .

Hp 6280 with windows 7 64 home premium, Started and ran fine for about an hour, then I shut it down. When I started it again later that evening, I got. ( and still get) the blue hp screen with options ( esc to boot, f11 etc etc) however it then goes to a black screen. Nothing else F11 and f8 do not work, I have 3 recovery discs, that I burned when I bought tis computer, I attempted to boot from them and was able to get into recovery manager with the first disc, (no prompts to load the other discs) I've tried start up repair , first run it rebooted and back to the same, second time it said it was not repairable and asked to call home, so to speak It currently says it is still running, I also tried a system restore to an earlier hpsf point and once completed it went back to the black screenI run avg, malware bytes, and ccleaner on occassion.
I have a Toshiba NB255 Net-book with Windows 7 Home Premium on it, and since i got it has worked great. That is until a short time ago refuses to connect to WiFi. I tried everything. It wound up being a dead end for me, so i thought maybe i'll just restore it because it could be something i messed up or an update conflicted with my system.I go to system restore, and it says i cannot perform it due to C disk needing to be error checked. That would normally be fine and dandy, except when i run error check during boot-up, it tells me it cannot perform it until i use system restore..It's an infuriatingly infinite loop ofstupidity.Because of the mix between my net-book refusing to restore, connect to WiFi, update(update just gives me error code '80070490'), or do anything besides just use Office and other stuff, my net-book just collects dust now.
Restored to an earlier date and the mouse works fine in the bios but not once windows starts, it is a wireless USB and yes I have tried other mouses...
