Neo Basic 2165 - 4GB RAM Installed But Only Shows 3GB
Mar 24, 2011
I am using a dual core Neo Basic 2165 - I just recently upgraded my ram to 4gb 2x - 2gb -ddr2 800 but it just shows 2.75 usable - and only 3gb installed - I've tried every thing so far - still same result - tried the msconfig trick posted her still results after reboot.
I can't open certain programs, as it says that I don't have the correct java, or its not recognized. I've always had java before, and when I tired to update, it was telling me that it either A. Couldn't do it, or B. It wasn't installed for some kind of error. I've deleted the java, and redownloaded it, and still the same problems. Also, on the automatic updates, its not letting the windows 7 SP1 update either. Maybe has to do with the Java, or vice versa?
I had windows vista 32 bit earlier. Then I got windows 7 professional upgrade in trial period. I didn't notice how it happened. Of course it must be my mistake. Now when i boot from windows 7 it shows 64 bit and in vista it shows 32 bit. The system asks before booting which one to choose. It's today only that I have installed but I am not facing any problem as such except that i need a product key within 30 days. Should i leave as it is or uninstall vista somehow. Would i be able to reboot my system using the 32 bit vista CD?

On my system I am using the following: Windows XP Professional SP3, Visual Basic 6 Enterprise Edition, and Crystal Reports XI Developers Edition. I also have quite a bit of other software. In previous reports I remember reading that VB6 will work with Windows 7 if "AERO" is NOT turned on. By the way, I never went to Vista and I DO NOT know the purpose or use of "AERO".Now that Windows 7 has "Windows XP Mode", is that statement still true? I do some development and maintenance of PC applications in VB6 and do not want to give it up.I would like to go with Windows 7. I have heard nothing but good reports. If VB6 or other related products are going to give me a problem, I just can't do it.
For starters let me say I know they are probably thousands of different threads on things related to Aero its just they seem to say all the same things and they aren't working.the problem that i have is that yesterday my Aero theme just switched off i think it was after I used tdsskiller tool from Kaspersky but not 100% sure. I've been searching for a fix on Google and everything I do doesn't really work. I've followed this tutorial - How to enable Windows 7 Aero theme? and different ones in these forums and still nothing works.
I used to use Microsoft Basic programing language for writng programs to solve mathmatical problems. I am talking 50 years ago!Where did it go & how can I get a copy of it?I know it ran under MS Dos.So I would need MS Dos will it run under Windows 7 64 bit?Is there a modern program that I can use & don't have to compile and is as simple as MS Basic? I Know it used to be called "Spaghetti Basic" but it worked!!It was even used in the early "Space Race"
Windows 7 home basic has ram limit of upto 8gb, wheres home premium has it 16gb. will it be a good choice to get home basic for using it till EOL (2020 i think)? 4 years ago 2gb ram was sufficient for games, nowadays 4gb+ is the comfort zone.
In order to change back the format type of my system disk from Dynamic to Basic, I took a system image using Win 7 Pro System Image Tool and deleted all the partitions on the system disk, change the format type to Basic using the Command Prompt, and restored the image. Unfortunately, the format type restored also to Dynamic.Did I missed any step? or there is something wrong?
I have recently bought LENOVO Z560 with pre-installed 32-bit Windows 7 Home Basic.
I want to know: 1) How can I upgrade to 64 bit Home Basic
2) How can I know/ get the PRODUCT KEY of my pre-installed 32 bit Home Basic
3) Do I need to pay extra amount if I upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit (as, I have heard that if I purchase, I will get 32 and 64 bit OS in a single pack only)
4) Will my existing set of drivers work fine with 64 bit Home Basic. If not, from where can I get the drivers
I live in the Philippines, and after reading the article below, and inquiring in the local computer shop in our area, I chose to buy a new windows 7 home basic Windows 7 Home Basic | Windows 7 News..I was fully expecting that my copy of windows 7 home basic is 32-bit and 64-bit capable as indicated. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic BOX Full Product - Asianic.com.ph Windows 7 Home Basic full product - Software - Others Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic (FPP)Is there a legal way of upgrading to 64-bit home basic? As sadly I bought the home basic thinking it will support 64-bit.
I have been reading up on it from microsofts site as well as various places throughout the web. most articles were also a few years old might have been before windows 7 was even released.from what I understand you will only really have an issue if you are using windows 98, 2000 , xp and server 2003.What I am trying to do is make a partition but the only way to do it so it seems (I am using the admin disk management tool)is to convert to dynamic.I am creating the partition to install a small linux distro to use in dual boot but the part that is making me weary is the last step of the disk management tool says "the operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disc(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic you will not be able to start installed operating systems from any volume on the disk(s)(except the current boot volume.now I will (hopefully) never have to deal with those headaches called OS's again. So would I have any negative impact from this conversion? would i still be able to boot windows 7 with all of my data still intact?
I recently bought a copy of Window 7 Home Basic. But all my friends and everybody I know that owns a computer have a pirated version of windows running on their computers (Third world problems).I recently read somewhere that pirated Windows CD are backdoored and viruses are installed with windows installation. Is it true? Is it possible for an attacker to do something like that?
I was wondering if it was possible to edit the Windows 7 Basic information in Control Panel. I wish to know if there are any tweaks or hacks available to do this, or what file(s) this information is stored in.
Simple stuff like mouse speed pointer color, and power settings are always changing on me?
The only clean up utility I use is ccleaner? What could be doing this? As a gamer its VERY annoying to have my mouse settings always changing within windows.
I've installed Acronis Disk Director Suite and in manual mode I've started to create a new partition. My notebook had 3 partitions: main partition of ~300Gb with Windows installed, unknown "System" partition with "boot" flag of ~1.5Gb and recovery partition of ~8Gb. So I tried to create a new partition using the free space from the first one. After rebooting Acronis started to work, created a new partition and started to replace "HDDRECOVERY" partition. During this process, notebook had been shutdown (it was plugged into the socket) and after turning on, I noticed the next: after turning on and booting BIOS, the laptop is going to reboot again and again and again.
i have a acer laptop having 500 gb hd. Isince i want to dual boot ubuntu with windows 7 i was planning to install it on Local Disk F so i shrink the Drive F for swap area required for ubuntu. I shrink it to 4500MB and new partition was created showing 4.5GB of space. Then i right click on it to create new volume. I keep on clicking next till a warning came.I click ok to that and my whole disk got converted to Dynamic disk. Now my problem is that my os is still booting even after converting to dynamic . I dont know how. Since i have only one hd how can i use Partion wizard since i can't unallocate the whole HD.
I am building a new computer with 1TB of HDD. At first when I started to install an OS, a system volume was created automatically of 100MB size. Then I created another 200GB partition as C to install Windows 7 and 2 other partitions of 250GB. I wasn't allowed to create another one partition. After I finished windows installation, I tried to create partition in unallocated space using > New simple volume. The sytem warned me of dynamic volumes > accept it. Then eventually all 4 volumes were converted to dynamic in disk management window.
