View 2 Replies View RelatedThe autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.

ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

I ran out of space on the c drive practically the day I bought it (SSD), so now I install games to my D drive. I tried dragging the .exe start file over to the games window and it did copy the icon over but I get a message that the game has stopped working when I click it, followed by automatic error reporting to Microsoft after.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got three different (but identical, to look at them) MicroSDHC thumb drives. When I tried them in my new Win 7 PC, it assigned a different drive letter and description to each, under Devices with Removable Storage. Even though "Hide empty drives in the computer folder" is checked in my Folder Options, it's not working -- they're still listed under Computer, grayed out. Worse, when I fire up Windows Explorer, it occasionally (but not consistently) gives me a series of errors about the drives not being available -- and this continues to happen even after I uninstall them in Device Manager.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently built myself a new system from scratch, and plan to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit onto it using an OEM copy I purchased from retail. I had planned to save money on my new machine by not installing an optical drive, since I have no need for one. My original intent was to take the optical drive out of my old machine and use it just to install Windows, but in short-sightedness didn't realize my old optical drive is not compatible with my new motherboard. After a bit of research, I have found a number of websites detailing methods of installing Windows 7 using a USB Flashdrive. I have an 8GB Flashdrive so I had hoped to work-around my problem through this method, but ran into a new problem. All of the guides require that the data be copied from the disk to the flashdrive using Windows 7/Vista, and on my old machine I am using Windows XP (which from my limited understanding, doesn't play friendly with USB drives). I found a couple of other articles detailing a more complicated method that works with XP, BUT doesn't work for me, because my copy of XP is 32-bit and the copy of Windows 7 I want to use is 64-bit.
I don't know anyone with a copy of Vista/7 64-bit already to use or with a compatible optical drive to borrow, and I really hope to avoid buying an optical drive just to install Windows.
Does anyone know of a method that I can get the information I need to install Windows 7 64-bit onto a USB Flashdrive using Windows XP 32-bit? Or any other way to get my DVD of Windows 7 installed onto my DVD drive-less computer?

When I tried to install the player again, the screen tells me that it's already installed. I also find a "fix" for IE 8 and Adobe Flash Player that I down loaded from there site. Still no luck with IE 8.I installed Goggle Crome on the advise of a friend and the same internet sit that told me to install the player is working find.Is there any way to get IE 8 to reconize Adobe Flash Player.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP laptop which I recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7.
The flash drive (Lexar Firelfy 2GB) I was using on the XP OS can no longer be read under the Windows 7 OS. Information are stored in it (I am able to access it with computers other than mine), but my computer does not see them.
I have also tried different flash drives with the same results. Under disk management, my computer detects the flash drive but is unable to read it.
I have Windows 7 Ult-64 installed on my desktop. I made a USB flash drive with the installation files, so I know I can boot using a flash drive. I would like to be able to boot into Windows 7 using only a flash drive (no hard drives connected). Is this possible?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWould it be possible to install Windows 7 x64 Ultimate onto my 32GB USB Flash Drive as a portable OS on the go? I'm not talking about creating a Windows 7 Installation USB Flash Drive as an alternative to a DVD Installation, I'm talking about being able to have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate OS on a USB drive.
I'm asking because I need to be able to have another Windows OS on a separate drive in order for me to be able to Secure Erase my OCZ RevoDrive PCI-E SSD using OCZ Toolbox.
In order to be able to Boot from a flash drive , I understand this ability must be enabled in ones system .I have a desktop and a new laptop in neither of which do I see this choice .I presume this is a choice originally installed on the m/b and it would not , therefore , be possible to use software to enable it ?
