View 1 Replies View RelatedStill got my old Altec Lansings from the last millenium. They still sound awesome. I bargained with Dell when I bought my first ever PC and they upgraded the speakers to get the sale. So glad I managed to squeeze that one last deal out of them, these speakers sound great and have served me well over the years.Only trouble is you can't adjust the setting other than manually. It had nice drivers for Win 98 that allowed you to adjust the surround effects and stuff, but couldn't get these for the mac so wondered if anyone had written any drivers for Win 7?
View 9 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, after a restart of my PC, I didn't get any sound at all, and still don't get it. All my drivers are updated, realtek, motherboard drivers, graphic driver... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling realtek driver and software. Windows media player is playing a song. In the "sound" menu (top left), the speakers (defined for realtek hd audio) are also working, the green bars go up and down.
In the device manager (down left) I have realtek driver, updated. and all nvidia drivers (as it always been, and also i checked another pc and has it too). Realtek manager works fine, recognize when I plug into the front or the rear jack (using the green one at the rear), everything seems ok. but (!) the "volume" menu (down right) doesn't have a green bar that goes up and down, and - I don't hear any sound at all...
tried connecting speakers to iphone - the speakers are fine, works well.
I require Creative speakers drivers for model no: MF1580.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll the drivers are working and windows is detecting everything just fine, I can even look under the volume adjustments and see the sound being produced. But I am getting no output to my speakers! I've read through a lot of forums and tried both xp and vista drivers along with the recommended 7 drivers, all work but I am getting no output through my integrated speakers.
I am running a Toshiba u205-5002 with a ACPI x86 motherboard and soundmax it just not working for me. I am at a loss of what to do. I don't get any program sounds whatsoever, no startup, nothing. All device managers say the devices are working properly and it detects the speakers just fine. I am also not getting any output to my headphone jack either. I am using the 32 bit 7000 build...
I was originally having problems with Realtek HD Audio Manager properly operating my front panel audio jacks, so I attempted to update my audio drivers using the ones found on Realtek's website (2.70). After restarting, my computer has failed to load and locate the new drivers and in the task bar, the usual volume icon has a red and white X; mouse-overing brings up the message "No speakers or headphones are plugged in" (despite my speakers being plugged into the proper lime analog jack on my motherboard). Opening the Sound window from my control panel shows that there is only one option under playback devices: AMD HDMI Output, which it shows as not plugged in.
There is no analog speaker present, even with both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" checked by right clicking on the window. Within my device manager, under the 'Sound, video and game controllers' heading, there is only the AMD High Definition Audio Device. Under the 'System devices' heading, the only relevant devices are two High Definition Audio Controllers, one of which has a yellow caution symbol. Within the properties, under 'Device status', it displays "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". Both it and the working High Definition Audio Control point to the same driver, hdaudbus.sys.
In summary:
- No sound out of speakers.
- Sound icon in desktop taskbar says "No speakers or headphones plugged in" despite plugged in speakers
- Realtek HD Audio Manager does not open on system startup
- No analog sound present in Control Panel > Sound > Playback
- Two High Definition Audio Controller devices present in device manager, one with an error symbol, both pointing to the same windows (not realtek) HD driver
- No analog sound devices present in device manager
- Possibly incomplete install of Realtek Drivers upon reinstall attempt - installed files do not load when opened.
- No Rtlcpl.exe program present.
Steps already taken:
- Installed most recent version of Realtek HD Audio Codec (2.70) from realtek's website
- Redownload and reinstall of same drivers
- Download of Realtek HD Audio Codec (2.65 I believe, I'd have to uninstall to see)
- Redownload and reinstall of same drivers
- Extraction of files from .zip version of 2.70 drivers, unable to point to these drivers.
- Cleaning of registry (working on hunch that uninstalls of realtek drivers have lead to registry items being left that are preventing proper reinstall)
- System restore to week before the problem (loads original drivers, problem is still present)
- Removal of RTKVHD64.sys from c:WindowsSystem32drivers (was present after uninstall. I believe it was a remnant from the old system restored drivers, which couldn't be uninstalled due to missing registry files. File still remains outside of drivers folder as a backup)
- Ensuring integrated audio is inabled within the BIOS
- Update of BIOS
- Update of motherboard chipset.
Relevant System Specs:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64 Bit)
Motherboard: Intel DP55WG
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
Hunches I have:
Something to do with hdaudbus.sys - old related problems dealing with the AC'97 realtek drivers with respect to Win XP mention windows' UAA Bus Driver, which is what this is. Something in my registry is preventing me from installing Realtek properly. Maybe I need to give the full .zip a try again? Maybe I need to repeat these steps in safemode? I've been trying everything through normal installs and restarts. Try to find original driver disk from motherboard. (Having no luck with this). Last resort is reformat of C: drive.
It is now running on Win 7 sp1 (afaik) with all the latest updates installed. This is why it has not just been brought back to the shop where it was purchasedMy problem is that I cannot play audio through the laptops own speakers. When in a very quiet room you can hear faint crackling from the speakers when they are turned up fully. If you plug in headphones or hdmi, the either will work perfectly no problem with sound. I have the latest Realtek audio driver for my computer installed and I have spent the last week checking and re checking all of the sound settings. The computer says that the device is ''working properly'' when I troubleshoot it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne day my sound was working fine, and then after spending a long day of sound editing (with headphones in) sound suddenly stopped working from the internal speakers. Sound works from my headphones when they are plugged in but not my speakers and drivers are working properly. Now, here is the odd thing... whenever I change the volume for the 'Independant Headphones' from the sound panel, the sound works fine from the speakers with no problem for about 2-3 seconds! The default is currently set to 'Speakers and Headphones'. I have tried unplugging and replugging headphones to make sure the jack switch is reset in both slots, still no luck!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.
I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.
I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.
Note:
- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers
- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers
I have Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.
only my front left and sub and main speaker work and if i put the cords in a different hole then only one will work and i got all of the in the right colour coded hole i have tride everything WHAT DO I DO!

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I plug my headphones to the back panel, windows recognize them as speakers, and by that gives lower sound and it really disturbs in gaming. I tried downloading realtek audio manager but it didn't seem to help either.
Windows default is Front panel = headphones, Back panel is headphones. but my front panel does not work! any advice how to change the speakers to headphones? It's very important!
I succeed to fix the front panel, but even then I'm not getting any headphones mode. I went into PlayBack devices and I didn't find headphones mode :O what am I suppose to be doing?
I am really stuck, basically what is happening is I am getting a crackling noise from my speakers and headphones on windows 7, it is not my sound card as I use a separate usb card for the headphones meaning this cant be a problem with the drivers as they are both using different ones right? Windows 7 was basically my version of vista, vista worked perfectly for me, I just don't know what is going on and it has me annoyed as i invest a lot in my audio just to have the os crap on it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use my computer mainly for living room entertainment and I use my HDTV (LG LED 1080p) as my main computer screen. Everything used to work fine but I've recently started having problems with the sound. When I turn the computer on, the sound works perfectly. However, if I close the TV or change the input from my computer to anything else, and then go back to the computer, the sound is gone.I looked through the sound options in the Control panel and noticed that the sound problem comes from my TV speakers (identified as AMD HDMI output) being unplugged. This is obviously impossible because the speakers are in the TV so this must be a Windows problem. This output works perfectly when the sound is on.My TV is connected to my computer through a single HDMI cable for sound and image (ATI Radeon 5700 graphics card and ASUS M4A79XTD EVO motherboard on-board soundcard, both with latest drivers). I use Windows 7 premium home edition 64-bit and I have 4 GB of RAM. i found that either logging off from Windows or restarting the computer will bring the sound back on. Unfortunately, as soon as I turn off the TV or change the input, the sound goes off again.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen i plug in my speakers (Logitech X140) or my headphones (wicked reverb from wicked audio) windows 7 (64bit) says that nothing is plugged in and no audio device is installed. The audio works in ubuntu (on a separate hard drive) when i look in device manager under sound video and game controllers it has NVIDIA High Definition Audio for times. It wasnt working on a fresh install. The reason i was using ubuntu is that this started happening a while ago and i got no help so i switched to linux but now i want to have windows so i can play games.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I built this computer a few weeks ago with Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything sound-wise has been working til a few days ago, but I have been working through some video problems.Since this started on Friday, the sound mixer/volume control shows sound playing. But nothing comes out the speakers. When I click the top, it doesn't say 'speakers', it says 'Realtek audio'. When I click that, the sound window comes up and under "jacks" it says "rear optical jack." The top says S/PDIF. Those are both formats that I have never used on this system.I've always used only the rear panel analog jack.Anyways, I feel like I've tried everything under the sun and I'm close to RMA'ing the motherboard.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a headset for my birthday and it is a sennheiser so it is pretty good quality so I want to get the most out of it. I currently have realtek installed on my pc as it came with it and when I plug in the green plug into the green jack I select headphones and pink into pink and select mic. Then when I open windows sound card manager it is showing my headphones as a speaker. Am i doing this right? I tried plugging the green plug into green and selecting line out aswel but there was no sound. Can you guys give me any suggestions of what i should be doing to get prime settings for this headset (even if it is off onboard sound?) I have provided a screenshot aswel as audio on pcs for some reason confuses the hell out of me especially realtek.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOkay so here is my dilemma. I have a 23" ASUS lcd, that I as my main screen, and I have an HDMI cable running to my 32" TV for watching WMC recorded TV shows. My problem is that i have to go to control panel and manually switch from my monitor's speakers, which use the 3.5mm on my mobo, to my Samsung TVs speakers, which both display and sound are running off my motherboard's HDMI.
I hate having to change the default sound setting every time I want to watch TV. Is there a way to make Windows Media Center only and always set to my TV's speakers or some other workaround?
I don't see my speaker icon for windows 7. How can I re-install it.
