NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver Version 186.75

Dec 30, 2009

I just bought a new desktop and within the first hour I had an error message that said, "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA kernel mode driver version 186.75 stopped responding and has successfully restored". What the heck is this? Could this be related to Windows 7 and would anyone happen to have any suggestions?

What happens is the screen goes black for about two seconds then appears with the above error message on the task bar. This happens very randomly, and maybe three to six times a day (had my computer for about two weeks). Also, two times now it has gone black and not come back! Just a little frustrated to say the least.

Kernel-Mode Driver Framework Version 1.11 Failed Update

Nov 19, 2012

The latest slew of updates has brought me some trouble, and one of this woes is a failed update. Here it is: [URL]

I read about my problem here: [URL]

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if my problem is the same as theirs, and if it is, I don't know how to fix it; I don't want to insult anyone, but the input on how to fix it was a bit vague.

Windows Update - Kernel-Mode Driver Framework Version 1.11 Failed

Nov 15, 2012

I have a new build using Windows 7 HP SP1 64-bit which has been up and running for about a month. MS updates for 11/14/12 included the Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 for Win 7. This update failed to install (several times), even when done alone. First time since building system where it has failed an update. Only thing I have added since original build is a EVGA GTX 650 video card (last week).

Display Driver Nvidia Kernel

Nov 5, 2009

I recently installed windows 7 ultimate and i have some serious issues with it.

at first when i installed it, and it booted for the first time into windows i got the BSOD everytime, only way i got passed it was to boot up with driver certification disabled. i was finally able to boot into windows 7.

First thing i noticed was that everything responded very slow, if i clicked the start button it took up to 5 seconds for it to respond. still everything acts very slow.

so after a while i got the error "display driver nvidia windows kernel mode driver 195.39 stopped responding and has recovered succesfully"

so my screen starts to flicker black, and i get the BSOD once in a while. I can't run the performance test because my system freezes up. i tried upgrading/downgrading nvidia drivers, installed direct x disable aero and so on, ive done alot of research on the web but i can't find any solutions to it.

Flickering Display And Kernel Mode Driver Problem

Sep 17, 2009

I've got some minor problems but still I find them quite annoying.

First: When I'm running Win 7 my display is flickering. It just looks like bad reception on a TV station. When it gets too bad the display turns blak and after a second everything is fine and it starts all over again.

Second: After a while Windows states that there is a problem with the Nvidia windows kernel mode driver, version 186.81 and that it has been restored. (This info is given after the screen turns black).

I think that there is a connection between those two problems but I don't know how to solve it.

I've got a nVidia Geforce 9650m GT grafics card and after I installed win 7 downloaded and installed the driver.

It is even worse when aero is running.

In Vista everything was fine.

Display Driver Windows Kernel Mode Nvlddmkm Stopped Responding

Dec 1, 2009

I have just installed win7 and I'm getting problems with it.

Whenever I play games after 2-5mins I get a black screen and a pop up saying "display driver windows kernel mode nvlddmkm version 195.62 has stopped responding and has recovered"

This is very annoying because i never had any such issue with win XP

I have the latest Nvidia drivers 195.62 but i can't fix this, i also tried to reinstall drivers in safe mode but I'm still having this issue.

I also ran memtest86+, my RAM has no issues.

Can anyone help me?

Nvidia 6600 GT Driver Issue - VgaSave Mode

Nov 4, 2009

I installed 7 last night and found out it would not detect my nvidia 6600GT card, even though it is fully supported by windows 7. Found a lot of people had the same problem but no one really had a solution.

This problem occurs when Windows 7 boots up in VgaSave mode (1200px wide max resolution). And trying to install the nvidia driver it tells you "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

After tons of trial and error, downloading previous drivers, downloading edited inf files from NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com, I finally decided to flash my bios using a bootable USB stick.

It worked, and windows update was able to download the correct driver, and I was later allowed to install the latest nvidia drivers.

So if all else fails, go to your computer or motherboard manufacturer and download the latest BIOS update.

Weird Nvidia Windows 7 Kernal Mode Driver Has Stopped Working?

Apr 1, 2012

I read a few forums about this issue but mine's different. It doesn't crash or display any error while gaming. It happens when i'm on the desktop exploring. If don't do anything it wont display the error, however, when i start to right click on desktop, it flickers and displays the error "Nvidia Windows Kernel Driver mode driver has stopped responding and recovered" something link that. This also happens when a window is active like when i'm on the Control Panel Window (don't know with other windows, haven't tried yet), It flickers every 10 - 30 secs and display the error. After a few hours of researching and troubleshooting i think finally fixed it by putting the "Peformance Settings to Best Performance". I don't know what caused this. It didnt happen to me before. My Peformance settings was always set to Best appearance until now. Anyone knows the fix to this error? I don't like the appearance set to Best Peformance, it looks like Windows 98 If you experience similar errors like mine, try setting your Performance settings to Best Peformance and post comments here if it works[CODE]

Deleted All The NVidia Drivers And Stuff In Safe Mode Using Driver Sweeper?

Feb 13, 2011

I have what most of you would class as a legacy machine. I self build this pc just before AGP got phased out, then had a kid and now cant afford to continue rig building. What I have is what I have, upgrading components isn't an option, unfortunately. So I have had a GeForce 7600gt card running in my rig for some time as that was, as far as I knew, the best AGP card I could get (didn't really want Radeon as nVidia have always been great)Recently I upgraded my Little Bro's pc for him and stumbled across the ASUS AH4650 AGP, which I gather is just the Radeon re-labeled. With a little bit of frigging about I got it installed and working fine on his machine and thought it would be great in my rig.

Off I went and purchased myself one, deleted all the nVidia drivers and stuff in safe mode using driver sweeper. Ran ccleaner to make sure all residual stuff was gone. Installed the card and rebooted. This is where the fun started.I have tried installing the current Catalyst Control centre for AGP, device manager see's AH4650 but I get "no ati drivers installed or installed incorrectly" or something like thatremoved everything and installed the AGP 11-1 Hotfix, device manager see's AH4600 series but I get "no ati drivers installed or installed incorrectly" or something like thatremoved everything and installed just the drivers manually, device manager see's AH4650 but I get "no ati drivers installed or installed incorrectly" or something like thatI have tried many of the suggestions here but always seem to be coming to a loss and I'm not a noob when it comes to PC's.

It's bound to be something to do with the nforce3 drivers conflicting but obviously that was unsupported pretty much as soon as vista came out.this is driving me mad. I don't really want to have to return the card. I dont play games on my rig it's more for HTPC but the 7600gt is struggling with High Def and Bluray stuff

STOP 0x0000007F Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap

Apr 13, 2011

I've come across the following BSOD:STOP 0x0000007F (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAPThis appears to have started shortly after I installed a network drive. The drive is a Western Digital MyBook Live 1TB.Here's the sequence of events:1) Installed the drive and ran the software from the CD. I only installed the WD SmartWare Drive Manager, NOT the backup software.2) Evaluated and tried out the drive for a couple of days - no issues, everything worked fine.3) Then, Windows Update notified me of 2 updates...which were rather strange...a) HD - Other Hardware - WD MyBook Live - IMPORTANT HD - Other Hardware - Storage Media Update - OPTIONAL (not the exact description, but similar)4) I noticed a yellow bang in Device Manager. It was under other devices, but it was obviously my network drive that I installed. It said that "No Driver could be found for this device." However, my drive was working fine and no issues were noted.5) I installed the 2 Windows Updates and the Yellow bang went away. The device now had a driver and was viewed under the appropriate device category.6) Went to bed, I restarted the computer the next day and within 1 minute of bootup, I get the above BSOD. I rebooted and the same error occured.Things to note:a) The error happens often (about 50% of the time) but not always. However, it always occurs within 1 to 2 minutes after bootup and the error code is exactly the same each time. If I don't get the error after 2 minutes of bootup, I will not get it at all. Safemode & Safemode with Networking do not appear to experience the BSOD.c) When the BSOD occurs, it usually happens when the boot drive (System partition) is very "Busy" (like after a Windows Update, new program install, etc.)d) It references the same file associated with Acronis True Image as the culprit (see below).

BSOD Error 0x0000007f - Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap

Nov 11, 2011

i've been getting bsods for the past couple of months. i'm running windows 7 professional x64 on a one-year-old sony vaio vpcs12c7e laptop. it's the original os which came installed on the system, and i've never re-installed it. the bsods all share some basic features:

they're all 0x0000007f unexpected_kernel_mode_trap errors (see attached dump files). they all happen when watching content online (usually adobe flash based, such as Internet) though occasionally offline when using vlc player. they all happen seemingly sporadicly - either thirty seconds or two hours under the above conditions.

the bsods also occur more instantaneously when streaming high-quality videos or multiple files at once. they started happening directly after i inserted an empty usb memory stick from a friend into my laptop. i can't recall the make or model of the usb stick. anyway, here are the dump files.

BSOD While Playing Games (Errors In Kernel) NTFS And NDIS Driver

May 19, 2012

I am getting BSODs while playing games. They are irregular and can happen every half hour or several hours in between.

Rig is:
Asus Sabertooth P67 (latest bios 3029, after installing these more problems occured)
Intel i5 CPU
Nvidia Geforce 9800GT
Corsair Vengeance 4gb x 4

All drivers are the latest. Graphics, chipset, SATA, BIOS and so forth. I have run both memtest86 which showed no errors in individual testing of the memories but when I had them all in and ran it an error showed up. I have done the chkdsk. Both /f /r and without it. Did show up errors but claims to be fixed now.

Ntoskrnl is the driver that always shows up. What I really need to know is if this is a hardware or driver problem. My biggest question is if it is a motherboard issue or not. I had bsod problems before I updated BIOS but they happened more frequently after. Attaching the three latest minidumps.

BSOD Playing Dead Island, Driver Attempting To Corrupt Kernel Caught?

Is Windows 7 . . .

- x64
- Upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista Home Premium
- OEM
- 2008 - the year the computer was built
- Can't remember exactly when I installed the OS

I basically get a BSOD about an hour or so into the game, or sometimes at random. I've never had this kind of problem before with games I've ran system checks on ESET Online Scanner, Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and a few tracking cookies were removed but the problems still persist SFC /SCANNOW showed up an error which it couldn't repair so I've attached the CBS log aswell I've also uninstalled Daemon Tools Lite as I've read it can cause problems, but it hasn't made any difference Also i've already ran Memtest on both my 2GB sticks of RAM and they've come up clean, testing each stick for 4 passes with and without the other stick in each slot Also ran a CPU stress test from Intel and it came out fine?
