I'm having this issue where all of a sudden my mouse starts to lag and when I move it, it just jerks around in a non smooth motion. At times this also happens with iTunes starting to make a hi-pitch noise or crackling. The CPU isn't the issue, I don't see it spiking or having any influence. This has happen over 2 computers. Both systems I've used a wireless Mircosoft mouse and it's only a foot away from the receiver. I built a new system last month. I have an i7, 16GB Ram, Ge Force 1GB 9800 and I'm using Realtek integrated Audio and using a SSD.My previous system was a Quad 6600, 8 GB Ram, Quadro 1700 and a Creative Audio card.I've found this issue online but no real fixes. So far I've read about limiting iTunes to one core, reinstalling QuickTime, that's if iTunes is the issue. I've figured having this issue with the old system, it was just a problem that I left behind!
Basically, when listening to music, every 30 seconds or so, the music distorts pretty bad and my mouse will skip across the screen. This may be unrelated, but in order to power on my computer, not only do I have to press the power button, I have to go to the back of the computer and toggle the power supply switch off/on very quickly in order for the computer to even boot.
I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Bluetooth connected to an usb bluetooth dongle using win 7 drivers.
Mouse works perfect för 30-60 minutes but then starts to lag out and move very erratic. After a reboot the mouse is back in perfect shape. Its not a signal issue since its always perfect right after reboot and signal strenght is displayed as strong.
Once starting to lag it wont go back until reboot. Any ideas?
I recently restored my Win7x64 system from a previous backup. It's running fine for the most part. However all of a sudden my mouse has been locking up on me. How can I diagnose if it's a hardware or software problem? The "freeze" of movement lasts about 1-2 seconds. It's seemingly random; occurring from once every few minutes to only a few times an hour.It happens regardless of the programs or number of programs I'm running. Firefox, LibreOffice, games, etc.Because it's so short of a lag and it happens randomly, I can't be totally sure if it's the OS or the mouse. However when I'm playing a game, everything in game continues unaffected so perhaps it is only my mouse control that lags.I figure this is either some latency issue with my computer, or maybe my mouse itself is dying. Is there a diagnostics tool/software/app/method out there I can employ to figure out if my OS is just acting up, or if I need to buy a new mouse?
well this just happened out of nowhere like 1hour ago, every time i scroll around with my mouse it laggs spike, its difficult to click on a button, i already checked the control panel/mouse sensitivity and its fine, it just happened randomly.
looking for alternative for itunes for a while.I have an ipod touch 8gb.Now been looking at this piece of software and wondering will it recognise my ipod touch or will I have to stick to itunes,I have music photos & video clips on it now. This is what I've been looking at but will it recognise the ipotouch?? Link..... Free iTunes alternative - Manage iPod iPhone without iTunes
I'm trying to downgrade from iTunes 10.5 to a version that doesn't crash (see my previous thread). However, whenever I do this, I cannot import my Library file (.itl) because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
I use iTunes on my Windows 7 computer to sync with my iPhone, and the last time I went to open iTunes it gave me the error message "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."I had heard that if I uninstalled Quicktime (which is bundled with iTunes when that is downloaded), then reinstalled it separately, it would work again, but after trying that it didn't. So I decided to just uninstall iTunes, then reinstall it. However, every time I try to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, it just sits there saying it'll be about eight more seconds to go to finish deleting, but it just sits, and sits, and sits...... Nothing. I also tried to just install the newest iTunes on top of the existing one, but every time I try it tells me that it's already installed and to click "Ok." So I can't uninstall it, nor can I install it, nor will iTunes open on its own. I had done a system restore recently, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
installed 7 on desktop with no problems (64 build 7100) x-fi audio, no probs at all then i installed 7 on laptop with realtek hd codec drivers and the sound is all cracklely(driver from realtek(eventually!!)226 revision) any ideas????
I'm getting intermittant distortion in my music. Track 1 may have static this time, but next time it may not have any? I've checked the speaker wires. They seem ok. They are BOSE with a base module.
I recently got a fresh win7 install on my desktop and after a couple days some extreme flickering and screen distortion appeared. I tried disabling and uninstalling certain drives, did rollbacks etc. the problem persists. Booted in safe mode and the screen didn't give me any trouble also during boot up everything is fine but the flickering goes on from the welcome screen. I have an onboard 4250 if that's relevant.
When I bring my Windows 7 Home Premium desktop out of sleep or hibernation, all the normal system sounds play in a distorted manner. If I reboot, then the sounds play normally. I have an on board 5.1 HD 6 channel audio codec and have removed the driver, then got Win 7 to find the latest driver (Microsoft) but that makes no difference. On my purchase order details I find:Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio Adi 1986. If I try to play anything in my media folder all I get is a distorted hiss, I can't detect any 'music' at all.I don't have a spare PCI slot to fit a sound card so I would like to find the reason for this on board audio problem but not sure what to do next!
Recently I've bought the Roccat Kave gaming headset and to enjoy it ( i would not say to the fullest but at least the bass ) I bought along a Creative SB X-fi Titanium PCI-e sound card. It was all fine untill a couple days ago, where I started to feel distortion and crackling sounds when listening to anything on the computer. It is not from the headset because it works just fine when connected to the audio tray on the motherboard
I have a Gigabyte Z68 Mobo, with onboard sound card. Running win 7 64 ultimate. Ever since setting up the computer I've noticed that the sound distorts at certain frequencies. For some tracks it's perfectly clear (electronic music), for others that have a lot of higher frequency noise, there's a lot of distortion (example rock). It's quite annoying. I've tried installing different drivers, rolling back, uninstalling, etc but to no avail. I've researched it online and it seems it's a relatively common problem with Realtek HD and win 7. I have no idea what to do anymore. I'm using the TOSlink port to connect to my sound system, but all the ports essentially have this distortion, some slightly more than other or at different frequencies.
I have a query regarding my Toshiba Satellite A500
OS: Windows 7 premium Processor: Intel core i5 Ram: 6 G
Recently whenever I try to play a music/movie file I will often get distorted sounds. Sometimes the files play better and at other times it seems like the ram breaks down . Also I noticed that the movie files seem to 'lag' whenever the sound got distorted. Initally I thought that the speakers were at fault so I plugged in some earphones but I still heard the same distorted sounds. This problem also extends to when I am playing games and generally whenever a sound needs to be played.
Furthermore i noticed that when i turn off the internet connection the sound is perfect
I have virus/spyware scanned my pc, defragged and even gone as far as to format and reinstall everything, but the problem still exists.
i am having an issue that just appeared. when viewing you tube videos or i tunes, i get a bit of static, if i scroll at all i get major distortion. this is present for all videos i attempt to watch. i have updated itunes, as well as the latest flash version, including checking the "enable hardware acceleration" option off and on to no avail.
i have updated my sound card drivers, uninstalled and reverted to a previous version of flash, and updated my video card drivers step by step, but this did not fix the issue. initially i was getting distortion while viewing Internet and random system lock ups that required a reboot. since trying the above, i am not getting lock ups any longer, but the scrolling distortion is present. it may be my imagination, but the system seems very sluggish as well.
I havehad Windows XP for many years (I am not a techy). I cannot afford a new computer right now and my current Dell Computer(10 years old) had reached it's max storage and would not even boot up except in safe mode. My brother was helping me remotely to try and fix it and he ended up wiping everything I had not been able to back up. He also installed W7 without asking me (he meant well). The main problems I am having are visual. All my games...both on and off line..are blurry and distorted. I am no longer able to play solitaire or MSN Texas Holdem because the visual distortion is so annoying it hurts my eyes and ruins the game for me. I tried to revert back to XP but the visual changes are apparently permanent. As I cannot purchase a new computer at this time, I need some help to see if I can adjust my visual settings. Also, while I have been able to find a font that works reasonably well with W7, somesites are still difficult to read as the font seems faded out.
i've gone to microsoft for help with this issue, been to several tech forums, and even sent a request for help to adobe flash player for help but i have had absolutely no luck.
basically this is my problem...i am a student and i just upgraded my gateway laptop to windows 7 home premium x64-bit for that $30 deal. everything is running perfectly except my on-line videos.
every single time i click on "full screen" to maximize the video size i start having sound distortion after about 30 or 40 seconds. i've checked and it's not my browser (i've tried it with firefox and ie). i went to upgrade my sound driver but i got a message saying that my driver is already up-to-date. i also thought that the problem might be the flash player but i checked on that too and it was also up-to-date.
the best way that i can describe the distortion is that i have this sound that makes all of the noise in the video sound like everything is cracking up under water. hope that makes sense. oh, and to make things even worse...i don't have this problem on Internet. i don't know if Internet formats their videos in a certain way but i can put videos on full screen without the sound distortion. if you'd like an example of the type of videos i'm talking about go to msn.com and look at the tiny little video that they always have on the left side titled "video highlights".
any help would be greatly appreciated...i really don't know what to do. i have a small bit of understanding of computers but i'm not that tech savvy.
So my girlfriends Asus has an issue where it will disconnect itself from wifi and at the same time if anything sound is running from the computer, music or video. The audio will distort and she has to restart the computer to fix it, this only lasts a short time before it happens again. She has tried updating the wifi and audio drivers and this didn't seem to help.
after reformatting my windows 7, my sony laptop came up with a weird screen problem. I have updated/re-installed graphic cards etc and even reformatted and same problem. Before the reformatting it didn't use to happen.Basically this happens:Right after "Starting Windows" boot screen and animation finishes, It flashes a bunch of small colored dotted distortions at the top of the screen. It only flashes this once right before the Log in Screen. No other problems occur after that.Tried "No GUI Boot" still didnt fix it.I assume the backlight/inverter is failing?
So i had lagging sound whenever my computer was loading something or i was scrolling slowly through something. I reinstalled windows and still had the same error, this makes me believe the problem is my hardware. So where should i physically start looking for the problem?
Yesterday, while browsing on firefox, my browser started to massivly slow down, and noticed it wasn't the only thing. So I restarted and it was still slow, and startup was a bit slow.So I've restarted in safe mode to run my AVG, it stopped half way through(assuming halfway, it was scanning some system32 stuff and stopped around there. So I rebooted again into safemode with networking to download spybot S&D and run Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes detected nothing, well, nothing until it froze about an hour and three minutes inIf this problem is similar to the problem I had once before, my computer will become slower each time it starts up until it freezes just by trying to log-in.[CODE]
I have a Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop. Operating system is Windows 7. Google chrome is my internet browser. I bought it new a year and a half ago. In the past week it has started to lag and freeze constantly. It also takes forever for it to load when it has been shut down.
I have 2 XFX 7600 Gt's and I had to reinstall Windows 7 and now whenever I enable SLI my screen savers become choppy ... no matter what settings I use ... I have checked my graphics settings, my resolution, and my refresh rate. It all seems good. Any ideas?
My PC games like fifa 11, nba 2k11, assassin's creed start lagging today. It only started lagging after the match started (no lagging before menu screen) . It is not my pc spec that cause the lagging because I played these games for a whole month without lagging. I also noticed that my computer is a little bit slower than usual. I think the last thing I did is my assassin's creed crash and i pressed the power off button. The first around 8 times I played it, it didn't crash but after that it always crashes after 30-40 minutes i play. So I don't know what to do and press power off button, then wait for a while then press on again. And there is some new problem occur. When I'm watching video using chrome, sometimes it lag or just got no sound when the video is playing. Is it because of the graphic card or virus? I already scan with avira, malwarebyte and spybot. There is no virus according to them.My pc specs are asus n53s, intel i5, 4gb ram, 640hdd, window 7 and nvidia geforce gt540m 1gb.
I'm running an AMD 3.2GHz Dual Core Black Edition, 4Gb Ram, Water cooled processor sitting at 40 degrees constant.
So I have been having this problem for quite a while and I can't seem to get if fixed. Vista will lag horribly and it won't resolve itself. I have to do a hard restart and then it works fine for an specified amount of time. It will also lag randomly in the middle of Counter Strike Source and I have to do a hard reset there as well.
I've checked numerous forums regarding this same issue, ran multiple virus/malware scans, registry cleaners, defragged hard drives and registry, repaired vista using the sfc commands. I've used AVG and I'm using Avanti now. Neither show any malware/viruses. I've updated drivers and the BIOS. I've narrowed it down to either the system idle process(i know what it does but it still sits around 48-80% while I'm using the computer) or explorer(which will also be up around 20-30%). I've tried copying and renaming explorer.exe and changing the registry. All I get later is a black screen to which I have to go through the task manager run command to switch the registry back to the explorer.exe. I've run HijackThis and I'm including the logs below.
I am completely stumped as to why videos tend to lag & freeze my screen for 10 second intervals, aswell as cause my browser to freeze with a busy icon. I've tried everything I know to do with no progress. I've tried numerous different browsers with no luck, scanning for all bugs.as well as disabling firewalls, cycling my router/modem & making sure all of my drivers are up to date. My computer should handle everything just fine.
Sometimes when I lag and Im typing my words Im typing will type out twice and overlap in sentences. In the screenshot I have included you can see this. I tried typing "I know theres ppl who work for little pay", and it overlapped. This issue used to happen on my old computer which was Windows XP but it only had 1 gb of RAM I know have 2gb and I thought I wouldnt be dealing with lag issues as often.
i'm not sure if anyone else has this problem but with both internet explorer 8 and mozilla firefox 3.5, there appears to be lagging on Internet. i am pretty sure it's not my broadband because i get 6.5mb/s. i have a sis mirage 3 with the latest drivers, intel pentium dual core @1.73ghz, wep 3.0, and windows 7 professional. anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
And my PC have: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @2.93Ghz 2.94Ghz 2Gb memory RAM NVIDIA GEForce GT 240
I was wondering why games like MAFIA 2 are lagging when It runs very smoothly before when I'm still in XP. .... Is my video card damage? Or it's just Windows 7 consumes alot of RAM than XP when/even without running games??
