View 0 Replieswill the repair install fix system links that do not worK? cursor choices show up in Cursors file in Windows. Problem is after installing windows 7 Professional the link to the mouse pointers does not work and if you go to mouse properties they are not there just the mouse driver details. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I did the RC of windows 7 to see if I would like it...the mouse options was not available in the RC thought it would get fixed in final release. As instructed when received my upgrade after final release went back to Vista home premium, upgraded to 7 home premium (had to buy it, had ordered and recieved 7 pro) then upgraded to the 7 pro. still no mouse pointer options to change the pointer.
The pointers are in the Cursors folder in Window, but when I click on 'Change Mouse pointers' nothing happens. In the control panel when I click on the mouse icon nothing happens. I am using a usb mouse on my laptop but this feature does not work with the touchpad either. Worked just fine in vista, any suggestions
Is there any possible way to have two mouse pointers on one laptop?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Win 7 Ultimate x64 with two monitors. One monitor for working, and the other monitor for media center. I had a problem with the mouse pointers getting locked into media center and had to use the "Windows Logo" key to unlock the mouse pointer to get back to the main monitor. Since last Update Tuesday, the mouse is not only locked into the media center, but it disappears as well. Any click of the mouse in media center causes the mouse pointer to disappear. I have to precede every mouse action by first pressing the "Windows Logo". I have Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000. I had Microsoft Intelligent Point installed, but uninstalled it as a test. It made no difference at all. I've tried different themes of pointers, which also made no difference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of directories that need to be transported via USB drive later (the files/folders vary each time). I want the files to remain in their original location, but have some kind of folder or structure where I can group the folders so that when I need to copy them, it is a simple matter of selecting one folder and copying it to the USB drive. I don't want to create duplicates of files or folders. Basically, I want some kind of folder or holding area that will have pointers to the folders/files I need to copy. Can I do this in Windows 7? I had was to use Libraries. That would kind of work, but it isn't drag and drop and is more awkward to add folders to.I know at the beginning of the week which folders I will need for that week, so I want to set it up in advance sow hen it is time to do the copy, it is easy.I know I could setup a simple batch file (with XCOPYs) , but was hoping for a better solution where I could browse the files before I copy them, etc.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7 and this is very annoying to have the appearance of the cursor change- then randomly goes back to normal. It takes anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes to change back.
View 11 Replies View RelatedEvery so often I get this problem where my keyboard/mouse functions change.
-With the keyboard it's usually a SHIFT lock (not CAPS lock), that is every button that I hit expresses a character or function like as if I was holding down SHIFT.
-With the mouse there are several problems. Left clicking "sticks", so any field where you can select text or draw a selection box will have that happen when I move the mouse around after clicking somewhere in the field. Left clicking any link or bookmark causes it to open in a new page to be loaded. The scroll wheel function changes to forward and back, rather than scrolling up and down. The right mouse button does it's own tricks, but I can't remember it exactly.
This has happened with two different sets of keyboards/mice operating with different drivers. The only solution is to restart, unplugging doesn't solve the trick. I cannot recall exactly what I may have installed around the time the problem showed up unfortunately.
I believe it is set at 125 hz default for Windows 7. Is there any programs that can override and make it go up to 250 or more?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure what the issue is but I can go in and change the mouse cursors and everything works until I restart the computer. Then it immediately reverts back to the default Windows 7 Aero cursor. When I go back in the cursors settings it has my settings listed but I have to hit "Ok" and then it's fine again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with my computer freezing randomly. It generally for about 5 seconds or so, usually when browsing using Firefox. Also, the mouse cursor doesn't change when highlighting a link or highlighting text, it sometimes turns yellow so I can't see it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
View 9 Replies View RelatedLately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI probably spilled some coffee on the keyboard and now I can not inactivate the mouse pad in favor of the external mouse. The only way I can eliminate the conflict is to uninstall the mouse pad. That works fine but every time I reboot for something I have to uninstall it again. As you know rebooting is common and therefore I have to reboot twice for every time I have to reboot. Anyone with a solution to this problem? This is a HP laptop. The mouse automatically installs everytime I have to reboot. I do not shut down normaly.

The problem is that since its reading two mice the one i have been using forever has stopped working right.ouble Click is disabled and it moves extremely fast. Basically I can't use my mouse, and I am on the verge of installing Kubuntu and wiping Win 7 off. I really don't want to do that though (two programs on Windows I need).
How it started? No clue. Last program I installed was yesterday (Final Draft), and it was working fine for hours this morning. I tried using another mouse, but that didn't work. Also my keyboard stopped working too, after my mouse, but now it's working.
the mouse works on the log-in screen but not at all once you log in.
