Monitor Won't Do Supported Refresh-No Official Drivers
Sep 14, 2009
I have a ViewSonic 19" CRT (Professional Series P95f+)
There are drivers for Vista 64, however 7 won't take them and the monitor I have is not listed when I try to choose it from the list. I tried similar models but still the monitor will only do 85hz at the highest even in low resolutions.
This monitor can do 160hz in 800x600, 120hz in 1024x768 and 100hz in 1280x960, 90hz in 1280x1024 I believe.
I tried using a custom driver that I made in Rivatuner but it only works on Windows XP. I tried the latest version of Rivatuner but the button for Create Driver is not clickable no matter how I set it up, and it doesn't correctly detect the monitor (perhaps because I'm using 2 monitors at once, not sure).
Any suggestions on how I can force windows 7 to use higher refresh rates? This monitor looks like absolute crap when it's not at full refresh....especially next to my nice new TRUE 120hz 22" LCD (ViewSonic VX2265WM).
I just installed Windows 7 64bit to try it out and so far its a pretty nifty change from xp, however if I can't solve this problem I'll have to change back to xp.
I have a 19" Samsung Syncmaster 957mb CRT monitor, the native desktop resolution is 1280x1024@85hz , but I run CS 1.6 in 800x600@100hz usually, however when I launch CS now, with the same launch options as I had in XP, the game starts up in window mode.
If i remove -freq 100 (forcing the monitor to 100hz) in launch options, it starts fullscreen in "800x600", however if i check my monitors OSD and look at the display timings, its tells me that the current resolution is my desktop resolution (1280x1024) and the same refresh rate, 85hz.
edit: To be short, the game is supposedly in 800x600, yet my monitor believes itself to be in 1280x1024?
Currently I can't find drivers for my monitor, so it only shows up as a PnP monitor, but this shouldn't be a issue, and my nvidia drivers are up to date.
I have gone into my advanced settings and determined that the only 1 option there for refresh rate is 60 hertz. Does that mean I can go no higher? Or is there some witchcraft behind this?
My monitor is SyncMaster 793DF(Samsung). Problem is : I can't see my current refresh rates only I can see the "default setting " . I want to see my current refresh rates and change it ?
Now Im using an old monitor LG 700s, and for some weird reason I cannot change the resolution to 1152x864 on 75 hz...I just get 60 hz (lot of screen flicker) option and nothing else, updated to the latest win 7 nvidia drivers released today, updated the monitor drivers as well, but Im not getting that refresh rate.
The funny thing is the monitor does support 1152x864 75 hz according to the monitor specs and I have it tunning on that resolution on both Win XP sp3 and Windpws Vista SP1 both 32 bit.
What am I doing wrong, or is it just an issue with the drivers since its a new OS and its gonna take a lot of time for nvidia to fix...if it is an issue on their part?
System specs: C2D 3.0ghz, 2 gb ram, 1000mhz, OS WIn 7 64 bit RC 7100, Graphics-8600GT

Installed windows 7 on this toshiba m45 s265. All drivers except the display driver are fine, the hardware acceleration on the standard monitor isn't supported need different driver.
I have to format my Pc but I would like to know if all the drivers update I need (especially chipset, audio and video card) will be shown with windows update:[CODE]
Just for fun, I want to attempt to install Windows 7 on a computer that does not meet the official minimum system requirements.
Specs of this PC:
Cyrix MII @ ~300 MHz 768 MB (256 x 3) 100 MHz SDRAM (not DDR) ATI Rage 128 AGP graphics card 80 GB SATA HDD (upgraded, with PCI card for the SATA)
I put the specs of most concern in bold. As for the video card, I can upgrade that if need be. What I'm really wondering is... can the Cyrix II even process the instructions for Windows 7 (albeit extremely slowly, of course) or is its instruction set simply too old?
I just completed the build of a new system and have the Windows 7 RTM software loaded on the system. Since the system is new I just have it connected to an old tube monitor which isn't so great. I was looking at getting a new 23 inch LCD that can do 1920 x 1080 but I'm wondering if I'm going to need a specific driver for the monitor or whether Windows 7 will see it automatically as plug and play?
So far one monitor I'm looking at only has a driver for 32-bit Vista and my machine is 64 bit. The other monitors didn't have any drivers so I'm worried about buying something now. Should I be concerned?
I have a samsung ls23cmzkfvauza or call it snycmaster 2333 or 2333sw, , confusing for me also although the first posted is the model number on the tag, i am having such difficulty locating drivers,as time has passed with all the new updates for the computer the display has become very unstable, can't open a second window of ie, the first window/tab/ie is ok but the second one sort of phases in and out, mostly out, the display becomes mostly greyed out and or phases in and outgames such as wow, especially in areas with snow, or water, or a lot of sky view, fade in and out also, usually out,,,running win7 with a geforce gt610 vid card just put in yesterday thinking it may of been the video going out,
I have a ATI Radeon 7500 and i can't let windows 7 Build 7600 find it. It says under display monitor its a Standard VGA graphics adapter. I'm getting really annoyed because i can't play counter-strike...and i installed many different drivers for it but it just doesn't work. and i also wanted the Control Center but idk how as well. I upgraded today to windows 7 from XP...and dumb me didnt backup ANYTHING after a full clean wipe. So im getting really agitated and not patient about it. please help!!
and as well with my monitor display says Generic pnp Monitor and i can't find the drivers for my monitor anywhere! even on the gateway site. I have a 19" Gateway LE HD widescreen.
I got a new video card at work to install and nothing will show up when I plug it in. I can go through the computers VGA and it works fine, but when I go to the video card only a black screen. Any help? Can't download drivers either, only black screen upon boot.
I accidentally deleted all the display drivers off of the computer, the computer restarted and now the computer has just seemed to screw up completely. The computer turns on however I get no signal from the monitor, it's on but nothing on the screen so i cant get into BIOS or anything.
I've tried: - Using different cables - Taking out and putting the CMOS battery in - Using different Monitors
I face the old fashioned problem (now) in Windows 7 Explorer that, after a data backup (imgBurn) to DVD, the new DVD contents is not displayed until I cycle the tray!?
My computer is slow to refresh after I have closed a program, sometimes takes 5 - 10 seconds to refresh the icons. When restarting the icons don't appear for 30 - 40 seconds. My system is win 7
I think I deleted the wrong registry keys in an attempt to fix the memory of size and location of opened windows. I followed some advice on a google and sadly now all the items on my desktop stack to the left no matter what I select.
I need a driver for an LG 32LG5700 LCD TV. Its easy enough to get Windows in the correct resolution, but if I load an older game (Civ 3 on Steam, for example), it switches the display to over 60Hz and the TV can't display it.
Is there a driver, or a way to limit the refresh rate to 60Hz?
I'm finding in Windows 7 that when I do things like delete files, after the deletion is complete, the Explorer file window doesn't automatically refresh.
any way to set it to automatically refresh or is it a feature of Windows 7?
I have for some time used a fingerprint reader to log on to a HP 4730s . My print is no longer recognized, probably wear and tear. Where can I register a new print, after logging on with password?
