I am using Outlook 2007. I click on a vendor's websites contact link .Outlook is launched and I compose the message. When I click on the send button, Outlook closes and the message just goes to the Outbox and will remain there until I reopen Outlook and manually send the message.Is there a way to setup Outlook so that I don't have to manually send the message?

And I was searching for a well known social web hosting forum.That I was visiting two weeks ago and had no problems getting onto that site then. I will not tell you the link as I do not want anyone else to click on it, as it is not safe.But I clicked on the link from Yahoo search engine but instead of putting me onto the website. I was redirected to a blank page,that said I have got viruses and it needed to scan my computer.And it just closed my web browser,without warning, and started scanning.I tried to stop it but I could not, so I quickly shut down my computer as this brings everything on my computer to a halt. And then I turned my computer back on again everything seemed normal.But I did a scan with Windows Defender and MRT-Malicious Software removal tool,just in case. And it never found any viruses or malware. And using system restore to put my computer back in time to BEFORE the event happened helped,I think.
But when I went round to two of my friends house,the same thing happened to them on their computer.When they tried to go onto that website. And I tried some computers in the Internet cafe. And the same thing happened,so it was not just my computer.But am I right in that the website I visited was trying to install,spyware,a virus or malware on my computer and someone elses computer as well?As I explain the website is a well known and genuine website that I have visited in the past,well two weeks ago in fact. But now it redirects to that page which seems IS trying to install spyware on an unsuspecting persons computer. And it is not just my computer was trying to do it on.So am I right was it spyware or a computer virus,that, that redirect was trying to install on my computer? And if so is there anything we can do about it?As I reported the website link to Google and Yahoo and they have not taken it off of the search engine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHere is my brain teaser,One machine on my home LAN uploads files to other computers very slowly although the same file transfer originated from the other computer proceeds normally.Fundamentally there are four computers. Three run Windows 7 64-bit professional or ultimate. The fourth runs Windows XP service pack three.Zotac Windows 7 Mediacenter Windows 7,Deb Windows 7,Ben Dell -Windows XP All of the computers have one gigabyte ethernet circuitry and the switch is one gigabyte. I have used the same 1 GB file to to the testing using the straightforward Windows Explorer copy and paste functions.The computer named "Zotac" is a machine which seems to upload very slowly.Listed below are file transfer times between the C drives of the one gigabyte file. As you can see the same file transfer differs depending on which machine originates it. From Zotac to Mediacenter,uploaded from Zotac-seven hours,downloaded from Mediacenter -10 seconds,From Zotac to Deb Windows 7,uploaded from Zotac-seven hours,downloaded from Deb Windows 7-10 seconds!The Zotac machine seems to be able to upload to the Windows XP machine properly however. Interestingly the same file transfer originated from the Windows XP machine proceeds somewhat more slowlyFrom Zotac to Ben Dell-Windows XP,uploaded from Zotac 2 min.downloaded from Bendell -15 min.Because the same problematic slow file uploads from machine "Zotac" occur properly when originated from other machines I have to assume that the hard drive read write functions as well as the network infrastructure are operating correctly. There are no video streaming or other file transfers occurring on the network.

Whenever I send an email with an attachment upwards of 4Mb it goes through the sending process then comes up with a send error. The attachment has in fact been sent but remains in the out box as though it hasn't and then it keeps sending it over and over until I catch it and delete it. I have Windows 7 home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite 5000 with 4Gb RAM.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHave one question, When I installed Windows 7 the only drivers I have installed were my video and audio which are not part of the motherboard (not onboard). My computer runs fine but 1 game but more or less I never installed any driver for my motherboard.
Normally you install the motherboards nforce drivers, raid SATA/IDE drivers etc... Do I need to go back to my motherboard vendor and find updates for windows 7 or just leave it they way it is, or should I install the drivers off the motherboard CD I have here? My mobo doesn't have any windows 7 updates btw there all windowsXP based drivers.
My son has a laptop and desktop, both using WLM. All settings are identical with ISP on both systems. He can send emails on the laptop with no problem, but when he tries to send emails from the desktop, the email doesn't send until he exits the email screen.Then he gets a window that says "You have unsent email in your OUTBOX, do you want to send now?" I don't see this as an error message, but rather it seems its saying that his email is sitting in an outbox somewhere and not being sent UNTIL he exits the email program. He does not have this problem on the laptop, only the desktop. The desktop was purchased about a year ago and only set up within the last 3 months or so. It's not a big issue since he can send email via the laptop, but I can't figure out why he gets this message only on the desktop.

I also installed Windows Live Mail not to use it as an e-mail client, but only as an intermediate to import mail accounts. Therefore, I imported all my many e-mail accounts to Windows Live Mail from previously saved IAF files. Until here all worked as expected. The problem is that now, when I try to "Import internet mail account settings" from Windows Live Mail to Outlook it just answers "No internet accounts were found to import". How come?
Can someone please instruct me on how to overcome this problem, please?

Now that I have my new mail installed from Microsoft Office 2010 which is Microsoft Outlook, I want to reinstall all my mail contacts from my backed up system. Does anyone know the file ext to look for and under what folder would these contacts be posted in? Also, would anything change from Vista to 7 as far as the ext name ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is quite a complex operation and MS doesn't actually explain how to do it so here goes.
The trick is to get your email messages into Outlook Express (OE on XP) or Windows Mail (on Vista) before you can import into Windows Live mail. Then the import can be done directly.
There isn't any way currently to import mail directly from Outlook to Windows Live Mail so you have to do it indirectly BEFORE installing Windows 7.
1) even if you don't use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (VISTA) you need to have them running on the same machine as your copy of OUTLOOK.
2) create (if you haven't already) email accounts in OE or Windows mail identical to those you have in Outlook.
3) Now import your messages from Outlook into OE or Windows Mail.
4) Change the Store Identity in OE or Windows mail to a disk that your Windows 7 can read (do this under Maintenance - data storage locations in OE or Windows Mail).
Doing this saves you having to install Live Mail on Vista or XP
5) Logon to your Windows 7 system and install Windows Live mail.
6) Set up your email accounts
7) File ==> import==>messages
8) Chose Outlook express or Windows mail depending on step 3)
9) Browse to the directory where you stored the messages in step 4)
10) Job done.
A bit fiddly but obviously MS don't want to make it easy for people to switch from Outlook
Note also the "Send and Receive" function is calles "SYNC" in Windows Live mail -- confusing but there it is.
If you also installed Windows Messenger you can prevent it from starting automatically at startup by going to the Orb ==>acessories==>run. type msconfig and unclick windows messenger in the start up box.
There doesn't appear to be ANY method of importing mail directly from Outlook 2003/2007.
Ever since purchasing a new Dell PC with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail, I am being driven around the bend with mail problems.Previously with XP and Vista my mail through my ISP worked almost flawlessly. Now it seems that not only is my email is being wrecked by Windows Live Mail, but Microsoft is monitoring my private mail! Why am I receiving messages (below) from Microsoft re Live Mail and Hotmail? In effect it seems that Windows Live Mail is duplicating AND storing incoming mail on my ISP's server.
