Lost Pictures On Start Menu?
Aug 28, 2011
I go onto start menu and click on pictures or right click and open, there is a momentary attempt to open but then nothing.I used to be able to click on and get the pictures this way.To get pictures I have to go into my documents and open the left hand list under Libraries.I then click onto pictures,nothing happens until I right click and expand and there is "my pictures" to open up. I have sent" my pictures shortcut "to my desktop as an Icon as a quick way of opening up.When I scan a photo it used to copy it and send it quickly to ( I think Pictures), from here I would always send to my documents as I preferred this.I have noticed that now when finishing the scan and me sending it to file, "the sending" takes time with the words "searching"coming up, before sending the photo on its way.
(1)So is this something to do with Pictures not opening up now on start menu regarding time taken on sending scanned picture, has pictures gone to a different place?
(2)Is it because I am always sending picture to my documents, so it has decided not to open pictures on start menu. ( note I like to tweek under Paint and Paint net via documents)
(3)I have right clicked on start menu into start menu tab under customise it is checked" as display as a link".
Privacy is checked as "Store & display recently opened programs in start menu" &Store & display recently opened items in the Start menu & task bar.

Old computer was XP Professional. Got a new one running Windows 7 Home Premium.Was able to retrieve all pictures initially. Due to a glitch (EasyShare trying to start and open uo the file upon every time I turned on my computer and getting the Blue Screen) , I Uninstalled it.Reinstalled, getting only pictures from 2005 to 2007.Years 2008 to 2011 were not found.Uninstalled EasyShare again and ran the Clear Utility feature form Kodak in case any emnant files from old install were still there.I checked the Hidden Files and Folders to make sure that there were not any remaining EasyShare files. There were not any.Reinstalled EasyShare but still have only pictures and videos from years 2005 to 2007. Years 2008 to 2011 are nowhere to be found.

Ok, i have windows 7 already installed fine on my 2x raptor raided drives, i decided to install xp 32 on a new partition on the 2x raided raptors, after using nlite to integrate my raid drivers into the new xp iso (no floppy) it installed fine on the new partition.
However, i saw no boot menu on reboot and every time xp would load by default with f8 showing no other OS to boot. I then ran the windows 7 64 dvd and attempted a repair of startup option, it failed 5 times in a row quoting a corrupt boot sector.
I was all ready to give up when suddenly it just repaired it after the 6th attempt, i did nothing different but it said to reboot so i did and to my incredible relief my win 7 install started booting again.
But again, no boot menu and this time the xp boot has been lost! Is there any way i can manually add something to get a dual boot function running?

So I just got my hands on Windows 7 and wanted to play around with it, and everything works but:
Previous Computer Setup:
I had a dual boot with XP and Vista that worked perfectly (both OS's were on separate HD's and worked / booted correctly.)
Drive C: --------> Vista (Now Windows 7)
Drive D: --------> Windows XP
Problem:
After upgrading my Vista to Windows 7 (Via clean install) I lost my boot menu to choose XP. Now everytime I flip the power it boots DIRECTLY into Windows 7.
How do I recover my boot screen option so I can boot back into XP when I need to?

When I start up my computer, my Steam starts up, then I manually start Chrome. Chrome comes up fine, Steam does too, but when I try to right click on Steam and click friends, all it does is create another steam process running at 100-108 K. Then if I close Chrome and try to reopen it, it will do the same. This happens with EVERY program after I start up. There's a 5 second window where I can open programs without issue, then after that it will only start 108 K copies of them. It takes me around 30 restarts just to get it working properly, if not more.

I have messed up my dual boot of XP Pro and Seven
Seven was working well, but XP was playing up.
I did a restore from an earlier acronis image of XP.
XP now works again, but as you have guessed I have lost the dual boot menu to select Windows 7 when I bootup.
I know boot.ini does not apply with Seven.
Please tell me how to get my neatly tweaked Seven back on the boot menu,

In windows XP, I used to be able use "ALT + E + S" to programmatically grab the contents of a command window. This does not work in Windows 7. When you right click on the title, the "Edit" selection no longer has the "E" underlined, indicating the shortcut key to use.
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn these back on?
