I can't get Setpoint to install and without installing it my mouse (MX400) some times laggs on a click. It's strange, sometimes it will work fine then all of the sudden, when I click something it 'sticks' for about 1-2 secs. Any ideas?

I can't install Logitech's Setpoint 4.8 software on my Win 7 x64 system. Tried installing in compatibility mode (Vista SP2) and running as Administrator, but no luck. Each time, I get an error that says the VC8 library was not installed correctly. Have searched and posted messages on Logitech's support forum - no help there as yet. Any ideas/solutions?

I can't install new drivers. I tried to install the new nvidia drivers and logitech setpoint 4.80 and all I get is the next error message:
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again" (see attached)
I'm not using any download managers.
I downloaded the drivers with and without firewall or anti-virus, I cleaned my temp directory.

Im running Windows 7 x86 from a Crucial SSD. I have set up this system only recently. When I reboot my system (which I dont do very often) I have found that none of the programs/services that are supposed to start automatically, do.This includes Logitech "Setpoint.exe" (for my mouse), MS "itype.exe" (for my keyboard), the realtek hd audio manager, my calendar software "rainlendar2.exe", as well as a control panel mod/replacement called "classic control panel".All of these used to work correctly on my old system, meaning, when I was still running Windows 7 x86 from a normal HDD instead of an SSD. I did not use AHCI mode back then, only switched to it for the SSD. (Just throwing that in there because I don't know what could possibly cause this kind of behavior, and I didnt make other changes to the system far as I'm aware..)The thing is, I can run the software manually just fine, and everything works the way it should - tray icon appears, etc.I can also put shortcuts to all these programs in the "Startup" folder, and it works fine. It's only the "other type" of automatic startup that won't work for some reason. Not all of these affected programs actually even HAVE an option to disable the automatic startup (itype.exe for example, never had a tray icon, never had an option to NOT run, afaik; the same is true for the classic start menu app).
I double checked the other software to make sure that the option "run on system startup" (or similar) was enabled in all of them, and it was.I also noticed that none of the usual entries were present in the "Startup" section of msconfig.exe (which I usually use to disable any kind of programs that startup automatically when I dont want them to.) Im running out of ideas here. The only thing I could think of that I haven't tried yet is re-installing all this software, but what are the odds of ALL this software losing its auto-startup capabilities at the same time, each on its own? Is there a common global option that may affect programs running at startup? Is there any service that is required to run programs at startup? (I did follow a guide for SSD Windows users, that recommended disabling certain Windows services and functions... eg auto defrag, superfetch, hibernation, system restore, etc.. that sort of thing!)

I'm having a problem with my headset. Whenever i play a game or listen to music, after about 5-10 minutes the sound turns into gargled crap. Like a choppy, sputtering static noise. I'm using 'Digital Precision Headset' by Logitech. It has worked fine for me on XP, so i don't see what the problem could be. The driver sofware comes with windows, so logitech doesnt offer driver support for it. I did however un-plug/plug-in to see if windows(7) would reinstall the drivers. It did, but i still cant get them to work right. Which sucks for online gamming, because i dont have another mic to use.

any idea how I can get my webcam to work in Windows 7 RC 7100 64 bits
the only way I got the drivers to install was to execute them in vista SP3 mode and I get a message like : these drivers are not made for this windows and then I click continue anyway, everything looks like it's working but once it's installed it asks me to plug-in the webcam and then Windows 7 looks for the drivers on windows update and once this is done I can't see the webcam on my computer, huh?

I installed Windows 7 RC 7100 on my gaming rig a couple of months ago. All was well until I got to the Logitech Gaming drivers for my Rumblepad 2 and Force Feedback Racing Wheel. Using Vista x64 drivers my system crashed repeatedly (cant recall exact error message)
The logitech website says that most Vista drivers will not have any issues with Windows 7, however I am a little apprehensive about reformatting if the problem occurs again.
My questions are:
1. Is anybody else having the same probs?
2. Is there a solution to this?(apart from not installing Windows 7)
I really liked the the look and feel of Windows 7 however not being able to use game controllers on my gaming rig sort of defeats the purpose.

OS: Windows 7 64bit Device: Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro
Maybe you guys might have some ideas in helping me solve this issue with a driver for a Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro.
Previously I got the webcam working by using this work around: Software Simple Blog Archive Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro Webcam In Windows Vista and it worked fine no problems. That was when I had Windows 7 32bit installed.
Now that I am running the 64bit version things are proving a little tricky. I tried the same technique as I previously did for the 32bit but no luck.
Additionally I tried some of the methods listed in the other QuickCam Pro for Notebooks 9000 thread but no luck with that either. Of course the webcams are different, I was just hoping that the same principle might apply..

I've had my g510 for a while and all this time the folowing ssues have been occuring and I can find any solutions on the internet. Ok problem one:I can't use the keyboard to get into the bios/edit things within the bios as it doesn't work untill the OS is booted Problem 2: I have to keep a mic/microphone jack pluged into the keyboard at all times or it will not alow me to use any of the keys or the lcd display and this can only be resolved if I unplug and replug it in the usb port and put the mic/headphone jack in (this is an issue because I use an usb headset now)

I've run into an old problem when trying to reinstall windows 7, when I put the CD in and alter the BIOS to boot from CD, I get to the screen saying "Press any key to boot from CD" or something like that.
I've got a logitech G15 keyboard and a Microsoft media keyboard, both are USB, when I press them there is no response and it boots from the harddisk. I've had this problem ever since I installed Windows XP, first I thought it was a keyboard issue, but then I got the G15 and the problem persisted.
Since then I've replaced the motherboard, PSU, infact I think I've changed every single component, but the problem persist. Anyone have an idea of what is causing this? I'm forced to dig into the old storage at work for old PS/2 keyboards every time I'm installing a new OS
PS: The keyboards both work perfectly in BIOS, after booting an OS and when the installation disk has booted. Just in that place in between where you need to press buttons to either boot from various media or skip disk checks etc.

I have windows 7 and a realtek HD soundcard which supports 5.1 with dolby home theatre.I bought the logitech x530 5.1 surround sound speakers and when doing the test int he realtek control panel, the sounds for the front speakers are coming from the rear speakers and visa versa. I double checked the manual and I have them in the right place. Is there anything I can do to fix? (apart from switching the front speakers with the rear speakers. As the wires on the front speakers are shorter than thoses for the front so they don't really reach.

If anyone at all has the savvy to write a driver file that would make a Logitech web-cam operationally sound on:ZT Systems Win7-64bitAMD PhenomII X4 955,I'd love a link or some more information.I have the Quickcam Express V-UB2, and Logitech refuses to provide a compatible software package for this, and this is the only camera I've never had issues with.I mean most I've purchased are not constructionally sound to take bumps and drops while in a video call or what-not.Anyway, if anyone that can help me out here WOULD,,, I'd be appreciative.

Background, I'm somewhat of a techie, not much. Been playing around with Windows 7 recently, 64 bit. Just need some help/advice.
I have an old Logitech MX510 mouse and I wanted to install the Logitech software so I could program the buttons. Turns out Logitech doesn't offer anything past XP. So I downloaded the XP versionof the software and ran it on my Windows 7 in compatibility mode for XP (SP2), as administrator. Everything installed, but the mouse software didn't work. Windows driver was overriding Logitech, probably because it was more recent.
So I tried uninstalling the logitech stuff seeing as it didn't work. Unfortunately I got an error saying I was missing a file i8042prt.sys and therefore the software could not be uninstalled. Hm, I looked up the file and supposedly it should be in Windows/System32/Drivers. I didn't have it, so I thought I'd be smart. I copied the file from my old Windows XP directories and pasted it into the correct location, ran the uninstall, and everything was removed easily. Cool, so after that was done I thought that well I shouldn't leave a random file around in my systems folder so I tried deleting it.
Turns out, I couldn't delete the file I had pasted (i8042prt.sys) because I no longer had permission. As administrator this was kinda weird so I looked at who had permission. Only System and TrustedInstaller (I'm guessing this came from the Logitech software installer) had full permission. As admin, I could only read and execute. Looked around at some of the other files I have in my Drivers folder and the permissions were all similar. Administrator didn't have permission for most of the files, but TrustedInstaller did.
So...anyone know if this is a problem or anything? Everything seems to be working fine...but it kinda irks me that even as admin I can't touch many files. On a side note, I'm curious to know if the i8042prt.sys file was there originally and got deleted or if it's only there because I put it there. I would appreciate if anyone running Windows 7 could check and lemme know.
Edit: Also this is still a pretty fresh install, so no system restore points before the incident.

I want to start by saying that I love Windows 7. The only driver issue I have is with this Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 which I just purchased. I am on a 32-bit system and based on some of the things I've heard on here, they have had no trouble. Here are the issues that I've been having.
1) I try to install the Quickcam software and it does so successfully (also in compatibility mode), but once I try to use the software, it freezes up.
2) The camera always works but because I cannot use the software, I have not been able to record a video. I bought the camera so I could use Google Talk with my family and that's all I really care about.
3) The microphone does not work at all. Tested it in Sound Recorder.
Where I am now: I got Windows 7 to install the drivers but not to install the software. So in Device Manager it shows that everything is working properly. The main thing I want to work is the microphone so I have functionality with Google Talk.

I just upgraded my desktop and am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. I'm now seeing problems with my old mouse and keyboard, which have worked just fine up till now.
The media keys on my keyboard work at the moment (though didn't last night and I have no idea why). The main issue is I have two extra mouse buttons that I can't seem to assign.
Logitech doesn't have drivers for me, they say that they are incorporated into Windows 7 by default. And yes, they work, but I can't assign buttons. The software for assigning the buttons, iTouch is no longer supported and doesn't work in Windows 7.
