I've formatted the laptop and it worked great, but I saw that there was no wireless card and opened it to insert. I put a card from Dell laptop and when I turn on laptop, I got this error:
Error 1802 Unauthorized network card is plugged in - power off and remove the miniPCI network card.
I searched the internet and I saw that for this error, solution is updating/flashing bios with "whitelist removal". I did it and turn on the laptop and it worked normally, until I unplug the charger. Whenever I unplug it from the charger, laptop shut down immediately, just like it is without the battery in it. I tried to get back the original bios, but still the same. It shut down in Windows (7 32bit), in Safe Mode and in Bios. So the laptop is running great when I plug charger, battery shows a 100%. Previously battery held around 2-3h.
I have an IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T61. I have changed the BIOS boot order with the ATAPI DVD first. I hear the DVD spin up but I never get the black screen with the question to boot from the CD. The computer then boots up to Vista. I have Windows 7 commercial bought 3 computer use. I am using the 32 bit CD. I have changed the boot order numerous times and no different. I saw a post that referenced a Maid drive
or something like that and not sure if that may be the problem.
Each time i load up my computer everything is running nice and smoothly when i start to open up alot of things that uses internet (or simply play a game) all of a sudden my network card dies and starts saying "An Ethernet cable is not plugged in" blah blah. Anyways the cable works 100% I've tried about 6 different cables all resulting in the same thing..
I've tried updating the driver that still didn't fix
I've tried uninstalling the network adapter and reinstall didn't fix it
I've disabled Ivp6 thingy still doesn't fix it
I'm connected to a Router/homenetwork using a REALTEK PCIe GBE Family Controller and computer specs are in my profile.
I reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and was wondering where I could get the fingerprint reader, bluetooth and thinkvantage drivers for my Thinkpad. I'm not really sure which drivers to get online.
I'm looking for suggestions on how I could improve the audio quality, mainly for music, that I can get out of my laptop (T61p). It's not that bad now, but I'm sure it could be better, especially since I already have some very nice earphones.
I know I could get an external sound card with a pcmica interface, but the problem is that is a dying interface that will most likely not be supported in the next laptop I get, and I'm hoping I could find something that could be transferred to the next laptop I will probably get in the next year or so.
My current laptop also has an express card slot. I'm not sure about the future of that interface either.
i am trying to troubleshoot problems with transparency and other aero effects and results says the current video card may support aero with a driver that is compliant with the WDDM, then I must seek for a compatable driver
wondering if anyone could help me solve this problem. When starting computer everything works fine, the windows logo loads, I get the welcome word on the screen and just when the screen should turn into desktop all I get i black screen with a cursor. I can access the Task Manager through CTRL+Alt+Del.restart or shut down the computer. I tried setting it to an earlier date, but no difference. I tried the system repair - found no problems. So do not know what to do with it. It does load in safe mode. This has happened yesterday after I have attached hdmi cable to it, which I have done many times previously without any problems, do not know if this could have any connection to the problem.
how can i protect my wifi network from unauthorized access. i mean is there a way to create a password. so that if anybopy else in the neibourhood is catching my signal he cannot use it
I've searched yet in official lenovo drivers pages for video card driver but they not have driver for Vista because it is included in. I tried to download win XP driver and run it in win XP compatibility mode but it not works ...says that it cant find that hardware... where can be a problem?
I have an IBM Thinkpad T40 with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have all the updates from both Windows Update and Lenovo. Everything is working great except that I can't seem to get my wireless PC card to work still. It's a Trendnet TEW-421PC card. Windows found the driver for the card but it still doesn't work. I even downloaded the driver from Trendnet's website and installed it and it doesn't work. The "Activity" light blinks continuously and Windows detects the card but I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet. I had Windows troubleshoot it and it says there is a problem but none of the solutions seem to help. I can connect to the internet with an ethernet cable but sometimes I like to connect wirelessly.
So i have windows 7 home premium (because this computer cant handle the features of ultimate anyway) build 7600 installed on an IBM thinkpad a22m. the video card is an ati rage 128. I have installed winxp drivers, 2k drivers, even 9x. every person i ask says its to old (which i choose not to believe) The drivers install, but it just disables them with error code 43. The same thing happened with windows 7 7100, and vista home basic on the same machine.
I just installed a new PCI USB 2.0 card into my machine. I have a Line 6 Toneport UX8 that connects to the PC by USB as the interface for microphones and instruments. Because of the high volume of data coming down the pipe from this external interface it is pretty much a 'mandatory recommendation' to use a dedicated USB controller in a PCI slot.
Anyway, I installed the PCI card just fine but when I plug in the UX8 to it, Windows 7 reports 'USB device not recognized'. It is recognized if I plug it into one of the motherboard's USB slots though. I need to use this PCI card, otherwise the recording quality is useless. I know other people have this external interface and run it into a dedicated PCI/USB controller with great results. So I am hoping someone here can suggest what I can do to get Windows 7 to recognize the card and the USB devices plugged into it.
I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the OS since it will be a pain to have to reinstall again when the commercial licenses come out in less than a month (I'm assuming I'll have to reinstall since I will be using an upgrade from my XP Pro that I have not used since trying out this Windows 7 RC).
Unless I have speakers or headphones plugged in, my computer gives me the red "X" over my sound icon in my system tray, and anything that involves sound won't work. This is annoying because I don't always want to listen to sound at work, but I still need to be able to play things that have sound while I listen to music from another source.I guess I could just find a wire to plug into the headphone jack (yup, that works) but that seems silly.
I've got a new Lenovo Z470 with Windows 7 32 bit. When I put an SD Card in the slot from my camera nothing happens. The card doesn't show up in My Computer.I've looked on the Lenovo website for drivers but can't find anything specific to this problem.
I'm experiencing an issue with build 7000 and the wireless card. It won't connect to different wireless networks automatically after putting the machine into standby. example, use the corporate network at the office, close the lid, bring the laptop home open the lid (resume from standby) it attempts to reconnect to the corporate wireless and never recovers. i get the same experience when going into standby at the office and returning to the office.
Oh, driver is from Microsoft version 1.0.0.7 date: 11/7/08, manufacture of card indicates: Atheros Communications Inc.
how i can get my Geforce GT630m to work in my lenovo ideapad Z580 i have tried every conceivable option and have had no success. I have tried the Nvidia control panel, bios and the windows control panel.
how I might have ended up as part of a Samba sever on my WAN...until now I would have considered myself to be a pretty computer savvy chick but in this case I find myself becoming more and more confused because someone hasn't printed the Samba for Dummies handbook yet! So here I sit, (this being my first forum post ever fyi) needing to know how the heck I became part of this Samba server (Belarc Advisor has informed me of this by accident, I thought it could magically tell me the Creative chip i had on my rocketfish soundcard but thats an entirely different sob story that I'll just have to hash out myself Ive searched everywhere to try to find info on this but everyone seems to want to get it to work with Windows 7 and not about any security measures we can take against it. I just really need to figure out how to
a.) find out if it really is on my pc
b.) get tangible proof so I can go open a can...
c.) get it off of my pc and then go open another can...
The name of the server is FREENAS... yes I am aware thats some sort of file sharing thing what I am concerned about is the stuff I was reading about SWAT and password monitoring.
My laptop suddenly stopped being able to connect to the network in my house and for that obviously it doesn't have any internet. It doesn't work either by connecting a cable or trying to use the wireless, here are the detaills for each case: When I connect the cable, the laptop detects it, but doesn't detect any network, it doesn't seem to even be trying. I checked on the network adapters, and it clearly says "enabled" when connected and when disconnected it changes to "No network cable plugged in". When I try to connect to my network, it always ends up saying "Limited access", when I tried troubleshooting, it said that there may be an error with the network drivers, I tried the fix there, and then it says that there must be an error with the network adapters.
Here's what I have tried so far: -Reinstalling the devices and drivers, when I check them in device manager, it says that both the wireless and network driver are working properly. -I tried resetting the router. -Tried resetting the bios of the computer to it's factory ones. - Tried resetting IPv4 and IPV6, along with the IP/TCP using the command prompt, still no go.
When I try to ipconfig /release or ipconfig /renew, I get an error saying the next thing: "An error ocurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: they System cannot find the file specified. The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation."
Here is my info when using ipconfig /all: Host name... : Jorge -NB Primary Dns Suffix : Empty Node Type : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled: No Wins Proxy Enabled: No
Tunnel adapter teredo tunneling pseudo-interface: Media state: Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix: empty Description: Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-interface Physical Adress: 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled: No Autoconfiguration enabled: Yes
Is there a software that can protect the files that i copied from my usb to a pc and it wont get copied i mean like this from my pc->to my usb->to another pc2->pc2 tries to copy to another usb but is not allowed..... or just similar software to that...i'd need one of software similar to it
I hope someone can help me with this. I work from home (office is 70 miles away), and my Lenovo T420 Windows 7 will not stay connected via WiFi to my Verizon MI424WR ver I router. I had this problem with my old router (MI242WR rev E), and I was able to fix it by turning off the Power Management option to "power off to save power" My Lenovo is using Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Wifi chip. It reads as "working properly".
It seem obvious that there is an issue between the Lenovo and the new MI424. I have 10 other devices connecting to the MI424 without a problem. I have shut down devices to ensure that their is not an over burdening the AP issue.
Specifically, the Lenovo successfully pairs with the MI424, tries to establish an Internet connection, fails, and drops the connection (or the router does - I assume it is the laptop.) It's worked great for about 4 hours this am, then it quit working. I:
- shutdown the laptop, pulled power and battery - shut off the network, pulled the plug and let it sit for a while - restarted everything and the issue will not go away
It works fine @ work with a Cisco Network.
My company uses some McAfee SW for laptop security. Since I was blissfully working for hours and this just started up, I do not think that has anything to do with it.
get my Windows 7 64 bit PC to reconize my HTC Inspire cell phone. What happens is when I plu it in to any USB port I get an pop up error "USG Device Not Recognized" and looking at my device manager/Serial Bus Controllers it says "Unknown Device". I uninstalled every controller and restarted PC and they re installed and still get the same error. I installed the HTC driver from their web site and still same error. Whats odd it doesn't work on this PC but works on my other laptop.
Not sure if I've got the right forum so sorry if I've put it in the wrong place, but here goes,I'm running a brand new Lenovo B570 with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and a Broadcom 802.11n wireless network adaptor.Earlier today I was managing to connect to the internet wirelessly, though the connection kept dropping out. Then I could connect to the wireless router, but not through the internet, and now I can't connect wirelessly at all. With an ethernet cable internet access is fine, and another computer in the house connects fine to the wireless too, so it follows that the problem's with this machine. The computer recognises that the networks are there, but it can't connect.
When trying to install W7 in 64-bit form I get the error message "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
this is new purchased notebook and i can't install the windows 7 anywehere in the driver
I don't have a one key rescue button but have one key rescue desktop shortcut. When I launch it the laptop restart but gives error 'disk read error, press cntrl+alt+del to restart'. Also while using laptop my laptop gives a beep sound. And it hangs and the hard disc rotation light stops. I want to restore my laptop but I can't.
I had problem starting my Lenovo ideapad z560. After many tries it started so I immediately launched one key app. laptop rebooted but showed a error saying 'Disc Read Error. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart'. Now I am using laptop in safe mode. One key app restores my laptop to earlier time. I don't have a windows cd. The OS is hidden in hard disc. Also my windows restore is not working and I don't want to lose my genuine windows.
My rig uses a Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless mini half-card. It reports the correct name except within the wireless network list. Instead of 6230 it reports 6320. I searched the registry to see if I could find the error, but nothing found. It's only a nuisance, and a minor one at that.
