Aion: Tower Of Eternity Crashes / Causes BSOD
Okay. Basically the error happens within minutes of logging into the game. The application either locks up and renders everything useless or it causes a BSOD(error states that a required windows service ended or was shut down) Anyone know how to fix this?

Lexmark X9500 USB/WiFi Printer USB / Wireless Issue
I have a Lexmark X9500 USB/WiFi printer that was working fine with Vista.  It is understandable that there will be some software and hardware issues associated with any beta program -- especially anything from MICROSOFT but I would really like to use my printer. I have already tried a fresh install of the software. W7 will not load the drivers when prompted for USB connection during install, not to mention it kicks my printer offline so no other computers can print either. Has anyone experienced this problem? Has anyone fixed it? Does anyone have a beer?

Copying Large Files To USB Stick Or USB Hard Disk
I have a problem with Windows 7 RTM and copying to a USB device. All devices are correctly detected by Windows 7. When I start a copy of some small files, normally this works. However, when I want to copy some large files (500 MB - 2 GB), Explorer will "freeze" and after a while Windows becomes unresponsive, I can only do a reset of my machine. THis happsn both on usb sticks or usb harddisks. On Vista, these devices work perfectly. The other way works, so when I want to copy something from an USB device to my pc it works. Also copying between internal harddrives does'nt give an issue. What can be the cause? I tried removing the usb host / hub devices from Windows, so that these would be reïnstalled. I also removed Antivirus software. Further more, I reformated the usb sticks and hard drives without luck.

Computer Disables All USB Devices When I Plug In A USB Device.
My Computer Disables All USB Devices When I Plug In a USB Device. For example, when I plug in my USB Flash Drive or Apple Ipod Classic, my USB keyboard, USB mouse, and other USB devices cease to work. I have tried restarting the computer and have even went as far as to reinstall the Windows 7 Beta Operating System onto my computer, with no luck. I had Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit before I installed Windows 7, and I have never had this problem.

Enabling USB Support Has Hidden My External USB Drive
I was building a virtual machine in Windows 7 Virtual PC RC. I had the VM on an external drive connected by USB to my host. I assumed (incorrectly) that I could enable USB integration of my USB drive in my VM and it would share the drive between the host and the VM.  I assumed incorrectly and as soon as I enabled it my host alerted me that it was installing a driver. I didn't think much of it, but next my USB drive disappeared from my host. The VM worked for a short time and then froze. I stopped the VM and tried to disconnect/reconnect the USB drive from my host. The drive still didn't show up. I uninstalled Virtual PC, still nothing. I uninstalled the USB Stub Driver, still nothing.

USB Driver Error - USB Ports Do Not Work
I'm not sure if any other specs needed to solve this problem. I upgraded from vista 32bit to windows seven 32bit a few days ago, ever sense i have upgraded i have never been able to use any usb ports. i have went into the device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the usb port drivers, they will start to work for about 30 seconds then will fail. This is the error in the properties under usb port: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) I have installed my motherboards new drivers and bios for windows 7. also have updated windows and installed all major updates. I have been working on fixing this error for days now and i have had no success.

USB Device Not Recognized On Win 7 - USB Mouse
I have a 4 week old Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7 Home premium that has developed an error: USB errors while trying to install a Microsoft USB mouse on this Laptop. Interestingly, my Microsoft USB Mouse installed perfectly first time and worked for about 2 weeks, and then failed. In looking at the system restore points, it tells me that there have been two driver updates to the USB environment since the unit was shipped from Dell. I wonder if an automatic update from Microsoft has somehow inadvertently updated or replaced a Dell factory driver. Two nights ago I spent 45 minutes with Dell tech support doing remote control bug fixing on this laptop. They werent able to fix it (in the time allowed). They downloaded at least one of their newest drivers onto this machine and rebooted it - and they seemed pretty savvy - but still not working. So I went ahead a did a system restore to a point about 10 days back because I could see that a USB driver would be affected (as shown in the system restore menus), and I would like to compliment Microsoft on this very cool functionality! At this point, I've unplugged the USB mouse, used the Device Manager to delete the 'unknown device', and done a system restore back to what I suspected was a working point. But still getting a 'Device not recognized' warning every few minutes, and still don't have a working mouse. I don't want to have to do system restores back to pprevious dates, although I suspect this is one solution.

Slow Usb Transfer Speeds / Usb 2.0 Issue
I recently completed a clean install of windows 7. I have the i7 950 on the ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard. I am currently experiencing extremely slow usb tranfer speeds. I get transfer rates on average of 650 KB/second. I checked the device manager and 2 of the 8 usb controllers say enhanced. The other 6 do not. According to the specs of the board, all 8 should be usb 2.0. I have tried letting the system update the drivers, but for all, it retains the current driver. I even went so far as to disable the controllers and restart. All 8 returned, but with the current drivers. I tried using the install CD that came with the mobo, but it states that it cannot run using the current OS. Any thoughts?

USB Sticks Seen As Generic USB Device
Since a week, all my USB sticks are picked up as Generic USB Device and consequently W7 RC tries to install as such, which first led to the error "put in media" and the second time just failed after trying for a long time. What can be wrong? These are all properly formatted stick, used before in Bêta.

USB Problems / USB Ports
So I have had W7 installed for a little over a week, and I am having issues with my USB ports. The only thing that has worked so far is my BlackJack phone, which Windows SAYS didn't install correctly, but works. All USB drives, my camera, and other phone do not work. I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says "Installing device..." then I get the report that it was not installed correctly. I have tried three different USB drives, all of which would not install correctly and work. This is very frustrating, and there is no reason something as simple as a USB drive would not work, yet a Cell Phone will connect.Â

USB 2.0
I have recently purchased a brand new computer and installed Windows 7 x64 directly to it. Every time I try to plug in a USB device, it tells me that the device can run faster on USB 2.0. Well the box says that all my USB ports are 2.0. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if they know of a way that I could check to see if there is a problem. I have run windows update a few times and it has come up with nothing.

USB 3.0
USB 3.0 has clearly been among the most discussed technological advancements of 2009 and, consequently, more than one company is planning on displaying the technology at the Consumer Electronics Show. VIA has already unveiled a single-chip USB 3.0 Hub Controller and Western Digital recently introduced its My Book 3.0 external hard drive for SuperSpeed. ASUS and Fresco Logic will please consumers’ eyes at CES with FL1000 host controller-equipped ASUS platforms as well. The Fresco Logic FL1000 is a single-chip PCI Express to USB 3.0 host controller, which works not only with PCs but also with TVs, storage, multimedia and mobile devices. The product not only uses a cost-reducing innovative architecture and high levels of integration but also delivers high performance while minimizing design cycle times. “This demonstration is an important example of how ASUS and Fresco Logic continue to drive market leadership and meet the demand for USB 3.0,” said Chewei Lin, General Manager, Motherboard Business Unit at ASUS. “Our collaboration with Fresco Logic has allowed ASUS to quickly introduce USB 3.0 to our major product lines just one year after the SuperSpeed USB specification was finalized. The collaboration also enables the best performance and cost ratio for our products and offers even more value to our customers.” Among the configurations that the companies' respective booths (# S3 30368 for ASUS and # S3 30769 for Fresco Logic) will have on display are a PC camera streaming HD 1080p at 60 Hz video off an ASUS N series notebook equipped with the FL1000 host controller. Other examples will include an FL1000-equipped ASUS M4A77TD-E motherboard connected to a similar PC camera and a USB 3.0 external HDD. These exhibits are meant to demonstrate the “capture of raw uncompressed high definition video and play back from the storage device.” “Fresco Logic and ASUS were able to benefit from each other’s core strengths to bring USB 3.0 solutions to market in so many different applications remarkably quickly,” said Jing-fan Zhang, CEO of Fresco Logic. “Fresco Logic is pleased to enable equipment vendors, like ASUS, to develop their USB 3.0 product portfolio by reducing their time-to-market, lowering power consumption, and improving their price-performance through FL1000’s innovative architecture and implementation.” The Fresco Logic FL1000 is already available as an FL1000-enabled PCI Express card or as a discrete component. For more information, end-users may visit Fresco Logic's site.

USB To C: Drive
I have a formatted external disk that I removed from a computer (it used to be my C: drive) and installed into an external enclosure. Now that the problem (a rootkit) has been resolved and my data has been saved, I want to put it back into the original case and hook that computer up to my TV. Right now, it's a formatted HD with no visible data on it. My Windows 7 ISO is on a portable HD. If I boot up w/o an OS, will there be a magical way to use my USB device? What can I use to boot with? I do have a Windows 7 32bit install disk. I'd prefer to use the portable disk's ISO. Can I boot from DVD and then install from USB? I hope I described my situation/circumstances well enough.

USB 3.0 May Be Big
USB 3.0, with its 5Gbs transfer rate, in my opinion,..... is big. You won't need eSATA anymore, and 3.0 thumb drives could make ReadyBoost more practical. (I tried ReadyBoost and it slowed my system down because I have 8 GB of ram)

USB Problems
I have a Dell Dimension 3100 and I recently upgraded to windows 7 home premium (32 bit). Everything was working well until this morning when i discovered that none of my USB devices were working, that includes keyboard, mouse and everything needed to use my PC and no replacements work, it does not register any USB devices in the OS although the keyboard does strangely still work in DOS. I followed some suggestions on the internet and took out the CMOS battery on the motherboard and stuck it back in again. Unfortunately this didn't help but i did find that that one of my usb devices is broken on the inside possibly because it overheated which could be the cause of the problem. But now i'm completely stumped. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

USB Ports Not 2.0
My USB ports on this Gigabyte mobo are SUPPOSED to be all USB2.0 So, how come I still get "This device can run faster" messages in my Windows 7 64 bit home premium installation?? I went to Gigabytes webpage and installed the chipset drivers for Windows 7 on there, but still get the same message when I plug in my Corsair 4GB jumpdrive.

USB Issues
During file transfers to an external USB hard drive, I experience failures after several minutes of running. At some point, all USB devices stop responding and CPU utilitalization goes to 100%. I tried connecting the hard drive into an independant USB port, to no avail. When I finally disconnected all other USB devices, file transfers (and Windows Backup) finally started completing.  Any words of wisdom on tweaking the Windows 7 USB settings? Â
