Laptop Won't Connet At All?

Ok so here is what is going on. One day my antivirus said that i had a virus with in the tdx.sys file. So I went in and manually changed the settings of that file so I could delete it. After I did, I restarted my computer and since then, my computer has not been able to connect to the internet. I found somewhere where I could download the file and i downloaded it and merged it back into the system registry and put it back into the system 32 drivers folders and that didn't work. I have looked all over the net and not had any luck yet. I have even tried downloading another windows 7 ultimate os but can't get it to install. If I can get this connectivity issue fixed I will be thrilled.

I have a Home network running Windows Vista, on the Network, is the server running Vista, An Acer Laptop running Win 7, A Hp Laptop running Win 7 and a Toshiba Laptop running Win 7. I have shared everything on all laptops but every time I try to connect It ask for a password. I went to the sharing option and changed the password on all computers to the same thing in home networks, I still cant access any of the laptops, Says the password is incorrect. I can access the Server with Vista, but just not the Laptops.

I have a Lenovo T400 with a 500gb hard drive( with all my software and files) running win 7. I bought a Lenovo T410 with a 750gb Hard drive, running win 7, and nothing else in it. I want to put everything from the T400 hard drive on to the T410 hard drive. How can I do this?

just a quick thread about my current laptops cooling problems because it constantly rises to 90C Degrees, when doing the simplest of tasks such as web browsing. I have a cooling stand for it, and it hardly ever is moved because I know how hot it gets - its more like a desktop now. I've heard it is because of a bad heat sink design in the DV6 Series, but was wondering whether replacing the current thermal compound with something such as Arctic Silver would help at all? I am buying a new laptop in the next few months, but I cannot decide on the best laptop to buy. I have been interested in a Dell XPS 15, which has the i3-2310m processor and the Nvidia 525M GPU. I don't playing any FPS games, but do play some browser games (or did play, but I would rather have the option there). Would this be adequate for games like RuneScape and such?

I have an HP business notebook that I cannot use anymore as it is facing some issues that are proving to be uneconomical to repair and restore, and it runs on Windows 7 professional 64 bit,I also have a Sony Vaio which runs on windows 7 Home basic 64bit. Since the home basic is inadequate for my use, I was wondering if I could replace my Homebasic 64 bit of Sony with that of HP Win7 professional 64bit? Please guide me on a suitable way to change my OS.

My wife's laptop is a dell with Core 2 Quo T7700, 2GB RAM. She uses about 25 tabs in firefox, and does a bit of photo editing with Gimp. Not exactly a power user. Any benefit to installing 64-bit Windows 7 Professional?

I am looking at buying a Re-furbed IBM T42 lappy with P4m 1.7, 1 gig of ram and 40 gb (I know...its small) hdd to generally play around with and to run some Powerpoint Presentations for customer when I need to.
It comes with XP SP3 but I am so hooked on Win 7 that would be my preference....
It should install without too many dramas but I was hoping someone out there might have some experience with similar spec machines regarding drivers etc.
I was going to go for a 10 inch netbook but at A$280 for the IBM and I know where they came from initially it is hard to justify A$650 plus for a smaller rig.

My dell studio laptop is not working. When i switch it on it is booting properly then it asks for the password when i enter the password it accepts dat also.. but then it shows me a black screen with a cursor on it... my task manager is working even command prompt is working properly.. the thing i noticed was for the last time when i turned my laptop off... its cpu usage (processing) was 100 % i don't know how that happend so i turned my lappy off for 2 hours and it is not working..

I am using a Laptop with a dead screen by running an external monitor from vga port. I am trying to duplicate this monitor on Sony HD tv using an USB adapter to HDMI. On the first go around I got my desktop ...minus any task bars or icons. on the Sony plus sound but could not get the complete desktop to display. (I am thinking now this might have been resolution trouble and my icons were just out sight) Videos play fine on vga monitor but see just windows logo on Sony.
When I go to display settings I see "1/2 multimonitors" and it shows the Sony as 3. That is when I get lost. If I click on identify it shows a giant " 1" and "2" on my vga monitor. at the same time. Then my choices are duplicate, extend, and show desktop. Which should I use.? I am not sure if my vga monitor is 1 or 2.
There is also a "connect to projector". I messed around there and killed the vga monitor (my only one) Had to restore in safe mode to get back to normal vga output.

It seems to work great on safe mode.. but when I boot it up normally, it works great for the first 4 minutes and then after that it just completely freezes, no mouse movement or anything. Things Ive tried: Virus scan - clean chkdsk c: /f - didint help solve problem Closed some start up programs - didnt work either

Last night I got on my laptop and it was working fine once it was done doing system and windows 7 updates. It restarted itself after 5 minutes of it being on, then did it again after another 5 minutes. Now, I am just getting the beginning Toshiba Satellite screen, a black blank screen with a blinking cursor then it shuts off. It keeps repeating this process untill you hold the power button to turn it off. I have tried changing the setup back to default settings and did a HDD/SSD recovery and nothing is helping. I need this computer. It's for school and it is essential to my college courses

When I turn on my computer I get the black screen and all it says is A disk read error occurred Press CTRL+Alt+Del to restart It just constantly will loop thro this sequence, what do I do to fix this (really I just want to backup my primary partition so I do not loose any data)?
EDIT --- I just tried to run a Linux Live CD and mount my Windows partition but Linux is unable to mount the Windows partition, it errors everytime.
EDIT # 2 ---Used a Win 7 install cd and chose the repair option...problems with this route is 1) The partition isn't even recognized this way, I also went into the command prompt and tried to run chkdsk (no errors reported), and fix MBR and after this still unable to boot the PC.
