i bought my computer in january of this year, a Toshiba Satellite L745 SP4146CL Like two months ago it started freezing suddenly while playing any game and making this weird noise, and i have tried like waiting if it finally does something, but i always have to turn it off. This week it did some of those noises but now, when it freezes and the noise, after the shut down it wont turn on again like for.... 10 minutes... and so on... before it crashed like once in a week or less... now its crashing like every 3 or 4 hours even if i am not playing...
So a few weeks ago I was in Sony Vegas editing a video and suddenly my mouse and keyboard both became unresponsive and a loud buzzing noise started coming out of my speakers. I left it for a few minutes but nothing happened, there was no blue screen of death, no error message, nothing. so the only thing I could do was force a restart.
Over the next few days the problem continued in graphical/CPU intensive programs (such as photoshop, Vegas, fsx, etc), and all I could do was restart. Not once did I see an error message. I did originally think that it was due to an overclocking (4.4 GHz) however I checked my temperatures and they didn't ever peak above 60-70.Neverthelss, I underclocked back to 3.3 but still experienced the problem. I read online that I should do a clean install of windows so I did that, and up until now I thought the problem was solved. And a couple of minutes ago I was playing age of empires and the computer froze and then The buzzing started again.
I know this doesn't really give much away to my problem but i'm just as confused.
My laptop has recently started making the little beep noise that would occur when inserting a usb device etc. but i haven't inserted anything into the laptop at all?
I have checked various windows device programs but to no avail, there are no yellow triangles in the device manager, so i'm unsure as to what has caused this?
I have also system restored but it still proceeds to make the noise.
My computer monitor, HP LP3065c it's 30", makes a very very faint noise when it comes on. Is this normal? If not what can be done? I've had it since it was first released on the market several years ago and I'm wondering if it may be getting tired.
I've had the freezing problem for months and so far no solution. My laptop runs fine when I play games, or browse, as long as i don't watch videos or listen to music, it doesn't mind if online or from my drive. Tried different software but no luck. I would think it's hardware, but i don't have this problem on linux.I ran windows 8 for a few days, didn't see the freezing there, but I don't like the OS.I think the problem is with the audio drivers or something, I tried old and new ones, but no result.I am running Windows 7 ultimate 32bit (64 doesn't help either). My laptop is Acer Extensa 5635zg. I attach the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 report+ the everest report inside the zip, where you can find the hardware information about my laptop.
i have an acer aspire 5738z and i am using windows 7 ultimate. every time i boot it up it works fine until i start getting onto internet. when i am using internet say, streaming videos on Internet or playing an online game or watching a movie online, the laptop just freezes. sometimes it freezes for like 2 secs but sometimes over 10 minutes. and then sometimes it comes back on again as normal or i will have to manually restart it from my end. i also tried to find any faults using a registry checker and couldnt find any although i am not pretty sure which is the best registry cleaner to be used. i also find that sometimes the laptop beeps just once before it unfreezes.
My laptop isn't even a year old and it started freezing and making weird noise. At first it didn't happen much and only happened when I was watching movies now it happens on everything I do about 4 times a day. sometimes it goes back to normal but then other times I have to press the power button and turn it off. I checked the fan and the fan seems to be fine. And I don't have a virus I scan the computer once a week.
I'm having this strange noise every time I'm 10 minutes into a game (Stalker COP) and I noticed that when I'm using a VGA analogue cable my display starts to tremble, the noise won't stop until I turn off my pc for 15-20 minutes. It is constant it varies when a game hangs or if I change my screen resolution, I'm sure it's not my monitor, fans, HDDs, ODD, graphics cards (restarted my pc without them and the noise is still there), I stressed my CPU with prime95 and all went good.As far as I can tell there's no strange smells, I checked most of my MOBO caps, nothing bad.Tried a BIOS update, Forceware update...no luck.
Right, when the monitor (rather old 16" Sharp LCD monitor) is showing the colour white (such as a Google search results page, GMail inbox etc.) I can hear a rather audible high pitched buzzing sound, no matter what brightness the screen is on. Any ideas as to why? I'm sure there is a scientific/electronic reason as to why, it's just I'm not sure what that reason is
I have a computer with external active speakers connected to the 3.5mm phone plug. I'm using win 7 32-bit and when I start my computer the speaker starts to make strange sounds, almost sounds like an old modem. I have disabled the start-up sound since I don't want that, the noise is there until I do anything with the sound driver, or so it seams. If I for example I play a sound or even mute/enable the cd volume the sound stops and don't come back until the next time the computer is started. I have had the computer on for a long time without doing anything and the sound don't stop until I do something with any sound or sound setting.
Additional things I have tried so far to fix the problem but not succeeded:
1. I have been into BIOS and the sound does not start in BIOS, it is when windows is starting the sound starts.
2. Re-installed driver
3. Tried to set the register DrvAzComIdlePowerState and a few more to 00 00 00 00.
my 2 year-old toshiba satellite l675d-s7016 has been making a loud screeching noise for the past week. it only happens when i'm watching videos (hulu, Internet, etc.) it slows the video down, distorts it, and then my computer has blue screen and shuts down. i think that it started when i downloaded a screen-sharing program called join me. i never used the program, but i can't even find it in my "programs." i'm using windows 7?
About half hour/hour into my online game of L4D on VS mode my game freezes up and makes a constant buzzing sound? And I have to manually hold the power button on the comp to reboot and during boot it asks to start windows normally or last known good config.
Anyone have any trouble like this? running 64bit Windows 7 build 7600 with 8800GT 512. I'm thinking its a driver issue? I forgot how to check which Nvidia driver I have..
So if i click hibernate and repeatedly press my power button, until the small light with the cylinder icon at the bottom front side of my laptop turns off, my laptop powers back on once that light goes off, once it powers back on it resumes Windows again and everything is amazingly faster than before. It goes slow again once i shutdown or restart, so i do this every time I'm gonna use my laptop. I press the power button while it is hibernating, it's not fully hibernated and turned off while I'm pressing the button, and it never really hibernates, it just boots back up while it's trying to hibernate lol..
i just began to hear a fan noise about 3 days ago on my hewlett packard dv7-1444us laptop. i am pretty sure it is the fan as i know how the fan sounds and it is not sounding like it used too (instead of the hard drive). it's making a constant whining noise now most of the time. once an awhile it takes a little while to start making the whining noise. i downloaded the hw monitor program and it has these stats:
value min max compal 30fc tz01 58c (134f) 56c (132f) 63c (145f) (not sure what compal means) amd turion x2 rm-75 core #0 58c (136f) 58c (136f) 70c (157f) core #1 58c (136f) 58c (136f) 70c (157f)
[code]....
tried turning off the fan in the bios but no luck as it still kicks in. was trying to turn it off to make sure it was the fan by the noise going away.downloaded speed fan and don't see any fan readings at all or i don't know how to use the program downloaded the service manual from hp, and of course the fan is the very last thing to get too after taking the entire laptop apart! also found a video on Internet of a different model but almost exactly like mine being taking apart! looks scary and exciting at the same time. why did they put the fan in such a hard to get to place? hard drive is right there after taking out about 6 screws as i did just to take a look!any diagnostics program i can run to make sure it is the fan?can i continue to use the machine. the noise is driving me bonkers, wish i could turn it off and maybe get one of those laptop portable fan things.
I recently bought an Acer Aspire 7738G laptop with Windows 7. After a day or two the speakers (in fact i think it was the internal subwoofer) started to make a loud grinding noise which was intermittant but which became increasingly prevalent. It seemed sometimes to be brought on by my going online or somethin like that whilst music was playing, but sometimes started on it's own. Thinking it was a hardware problem I changed my laptop for exactly the same model. Unfortunately however after a few days exactly the same thing has started to happen.
I don't think I am the only one to have had this problem (see link below) and I wonder if it's aproblem with Windows 7 and Acer internal subwoofers. I am not a techy and all I can think to do is to take this laptop back and get a non Acer one. I'd rather not go through all that again (transferring itunes alone is a pain let alone getting the computer to perform in the shop).
Please let me know therefore if there is a simple fix to save me the trouble.
I have been starting to make voice overs for my videos recently using a Turtle Beach x11 headset and everything has been working ok. Suddenly whenever I start recording I get this like popping sound (like when you pop your ears) lasts for about 1-2 seconds and I dont know how to get rid of it. It also happens when recording with my inbuilt laptop mic.
I have a Sony viao laptop vpc-f1290x. I probably will be unable to give any specs besides windows 7 and i7. Earlier I was playing stacraft 2 after waking it from hibernation and was listening to music with headphones on. I heard a horrific cranking noise and couldn't tell where it came from. A few minutes later I heard it again and realized it came from the fan area or so from the laptop. It turned off and I waited a minute and turned it back on. It started for a few seconds and turned back off. I left it for a few hours then turned it on again and it lasted to the desktop then turned off. I tried a different power source but that hasn't done anything.
I am using a Dell Inspiron 14 laptop. A few days ago, I noticed that my laptop has become incredibly slow (the system will hang sometimes, and continue as per normal after a while), and this coincided with my laptop beginning to make this weird, sharp beeping sound. At first I did not pay much attention to it, but later this was joined by several BSODs, and my laptop became even slower (games that usually did not lag was now hanging halfway through, and continuing as per normal after a lengthy period of 1 minute or so). I tried to find the origin of the noise, and I think it came from my Internal hard drive sector, and thus decided to open the sector up (in hindsight I probably should not have). After I replaced it, without doing much (just doing the usual IT-amateur stuff, wiping it and blowing it a few times), my situation has now worsened to the point that startup takes a much longer time, and finally now it hangs at the "Starting Windows" screen, but without the Windows 7 logo showing, and my screen later turns black.
It seems to work great on safe mode.. but when I boot it up normally, it works great for the first 4 minutes and then after that it just completely freezes, no mouse movement or anything. Things Ive tried: Virus scan - clean chkdsk c: /f - didint help solve problem Closed some start up programs - didnt work either
My acer aspire one AOA150 with windows 7 ultimate SP1 decides to completly freeze each night at 00:00 GMT and i can not do anything (except turn off by taking power out or pressing power button till it kills itself)
i cant bring up task manager the keyboard doesnt work im guessing that explorer.exe dies (if its the same as in win XP) is there anyway to fix this without a fresh install?
I have a MSI CX623, and it was working fine a couple of days ago, now when I try to log on it freezes and that cup icon light goes off. I tried restoring the computer to three times, but it still freezes
My laptop is continuously freezing after startup. I after booting up and logging in everything will load completely then will often freeze for 10mins to upwards of 50mins, and I will eventually get a Microsoft Explorer error and everything will disappear from my screen leaving up only my wallpaper. And all attempts at bringing up the task manager will not work.
My sons laptop freezes part way through start up, shortly after windows logo has appeared, remains like this for few minutes befor shutting down. Have tried safeboot and starts until file windowssystem32DRIVERAtiPcie64.sys is reached when it freezes again. I've found some software called Farbar Recovery Scan Tool which has given me a large text file.
I have an Acer Aspire 4743g. days back my Windows 7 Ultimate got Corrupted, so I cannot start my laptop so I cleaned it(Delete then Reinstalled the OS). Then It worked..But i have noticed another problem. my laptop freezes about 2 seconds then Starts up Again.. then freezes and un froze again... Then I am hearing some clicking sound on my disk drive on the right.(where I put DVD/CD's). And my laptop is 1 Year and 1 Month old, I haven't cleaned the fan. I think it has so many dust/oil in it that may also cause's my laptop to freeze from time to time. Then after about 10 minutes the Blue Screen of Death Appears!. It's so frustrating. I tried using Check Disk but it is stuck on the 4th Stage out of 5. like around 53k. I also tried defraging it. but nothing happens. I am in Safe mode now.
