Nov 18, 2011I bought this Fujitsu laptop for less than a year. Its only for my school work. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing.For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.

Dec 12, 2009I'm having problem with Windows 7 on my laptop. I had beta version up to recently because I didn't use it much, but few days ago I decided to install retail version which I also have on my PC, so I know that dvd works.
It's 64bit(beta version was too) and my laptop can handle it. MSI Gx620.
Now problem is, when I install it all goes well, but then it gets to Loading Windows screen, with 4 part logo that flashes and just stands there, for like 20 minutes. And then boots up and all is fine! In beta version I didn't have that problem.
I tried booting up in safe mode and it was stuck again for long time on this thing: CLASSPNP.SYS
I did full format and fresh install every time. I tested 2 Vista's I had, 1 worked fine, the other one had same problem.
I tried repair and it was doing it for very very long time and finnaly said that it cant be done automatic and check online with this in details:

I am going to try to update bios with newest version from site as soon as I manage to boot from USB, for some reason it won't boot up(says missing ntldr) and will post if that fixes it.
Please tell me what to do or try, maybe if it hardware fault I can send it back to service to get it fixed but first gotta find out whats the problem.
A Computer That Has A Really Hard Time Booting Up
Jun 26, 2011Okay, I turn on my computer, and after four seconds it shuts off, then 4 seconds later, it shuts off, etc. Then after this process repeats itself for about 4 times, it will take a long time (~5-10 minutes) to show the computer manufacturer logo. Then after that,another ~2 minutes to show the Windows logo, then ~5 minutes to show the user account selection screen. I tried taking out the RAM, leaving one stick in, and then booting it up. It worked, so I am currently in the process of replacing the RAM (I now have 1GB instead of 2). But after a while, it got worse. I have no idea what to do know, and I really need this computer for work.

Nov 4, 2009on first install of windows 7 (and XP when I was using it) the comp ran fine booted in less than 30secs, but over the couple of weeks it just keeps getting slower and slower now it can take anywhere between 3-5min.
once it has booted to windows log on screen it takes all of a secound to load.
I built my and my brothers comps, there both using the same Mobo/CPU I have 4GB (he has 2GB) but his computer boots faster than mine.
no problems once the comp has started apart from certain settings wont save like where I leave my Icons on DT, and screens staying maximized.
would give boot log but cant remember how to get it...
Slow Installations And Booting
Mar 13, 2009Have downloaded the latest build 7057 and burnt it successfully.When booting from the DVD, it takes a long time until the setup starts.After a couple of minutes I'm getting to the box where I'm going to choose language, Choosing language and continues.THEN it halts down. After 10 minutes looking at the window saying "Setup Is Starting" I'm able to accept the EULA.Then, I neet to create a partition on the HD. It takes hours to complete and I'm giving up.

Jun 21, 2011recently I had 4GBs of RAM, and will, but for now I have it in my WHS because the 2011 release requires 2GBs of RAM.But I'm very angry with the performance decrease. It's always been this way though. It always has this stupid performance decrease, and lowering my RAM triggered it and that angers me.My computer takes about 10 minutes before anything will start loading... I've down new installs, used different HDDs, different motherboards, etc. Why! Why does a computer with a Core 2 Quad and 4GBs of RAM (usually it has that) respond slowly.Is it because my RAM is only DDR2 667? Does Windows 7 not work well with DDR2 667? My CPU isn't the issue, task manager shows the PC basically doing nothing on boot-up. And then out of nowhere, Windows Live Messenger and Lync start, and IE9 opens when I clicked it 5 minutes prior to it opening.I really want this XPS 420 to behave better starting up...it has a Q6600 and it's a relatively new install of Windows 7.it's a hardware issue, not a software issue.Also the GPU is good too, ATI Radeon HD 5500 series. I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed in this computer. It worked just fine for about one year. It normally took 30 seconds to boot up. But now I'm experiencing unexpected slow bootup of windows. Now it takes about 2 minutes 20 sec. I've tried removing some of the start up programs and also tried scanning with Guardian antivirus by Quick Heal, but it showed my PC clean of viruses. What should I do to solve my problem?
Windows 7 Slow Boot Time?
Nov 25, 2012I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to fixing computer problems. I just want to make sure I am correct with what the problem may be. I need some input from fellow computer heads. My neighbors had a problem with Win7 slow startups. Sometimes it would boot up slow and sometimes it would just stay on the blank screen. I went into Safe Mode and got rid of all of the malware and the one virus. That did not solve the problem. So after thorough troubleshooting I decided to re-install windows. Everything was running fine yesterday but now it is taking about 20 minutes for windows to load and after logging into a profile it takes an additional 10-15 minutes. Last night I had went into msconfig to prevent slow startups . I'm assuming there is a problem with the HDD

Eventually it did turn on after like 5 minutes but things didn't work well.Here's a list of problems i'm experiencing:When you drag your cursor over an icon or a taskbar icon it takes a minute for the cursor to to highlight it.Any program you do manage to click on takes forever to start. Some programs don't start at all, windows live mail tells you it can't start because there isn't enough memory left and you sholuld check your hard drive. I know there is plenty of memory left, there isn't much on that computer.
I can't do system restore, there are no restore dates available and when you try to create one it says it can't because the computer responded too slow.I can't back up my system, that also tells me the program responded too slow.AVG free virus scanner (installed after this started) can't find any virus or spyware.Advanced system care 4 (Installed after this started) found plenty of troubles and said it fixed them but everything is still broken and functioning incredibly slow.Internet works but it is slow.Every now and again the icons and start menu dissapear and come back whenever they feel like it.

I've tried defragment my HD on desktop
By the way both systems are clean installed which I format everything to make it brand new (nothing really installed in the system except game and some random softwares)
Vista To 7 Upgrade - Slow Boot Up Time
Nov 19, 2009I upgraded from Vista to 7 and I noticed my boot up time is very slow. I went ahead and tried the "time your windows 7 boot up" and apparently takes 194 seconds for my computer to boot.
I was thinking maybe if I did a clean install instead of just an upgrade that 7 would work faster but I wanted to know if that would actually be the case before reformatting.
Slow Boot Time In Windows 7 Ultimate?
Mar 14, 2011I recently built a system and it has been running relatively smoothly for a while until all of a sudden my boot time at least doubled. I dont think that this is general slowing down due to more programs installed etc. there must be some kind of problem. At first i thought it might have been one of my USB devices so i removed all but my necessary ones (Mouse, keyboard, wireless network and sound.) and it was still very slow so im not quite sure what the problem is. Sometimes it pauses on the welcome screen and sometimes a black screen just before that. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Also while im asking about this, does anyone have any tips on how to keep my PC running nice and smoothly? Normally i would just defrag/disk cleanup/virus scan when i start to notice it slowing down and physically clean the case if i notice any overheating.

PC Running Slow With 6GB RAM - Programs Taking Time To Launch

To launch mozilla firefox, it takes a good 12 seconds, and to open other apps such as Word 2007 it takes about 15 seconds...why with a processor such as this is it this sluggish?

Oct 21, 2011I used to run my PC on Vista Ultimate 64bit and was very happy ith its performance, but after seeing it forget the window layout for the umpteenth time, I decided to install Windows 7. Purchased a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Systembuilder package, formatted all my drives and installed it. Turns out there was a problem with the boot manager. The repair function of the installation DVD didn't really do anything, so I re-installed the whole thing and this time it worked ... sort of.
I get to see my desktop pretty quickly, but then it takes more than 2 minutes to load the 3 sidebar gadgets, open Wampserver (which I need for work) and connect to my home network. During that time the CPU is near idle (1-10% CPU usage) but it won't respond to any commands. The "Computer" won't open, right-click menus don't open, etc. In Vista I could play GTA4 with all settings maxed out at 55fps. Now the PC is struggling to reach 30.
Before the install, I have re-downloaded all my drivers from the various manufacturers' websites, to make sure they were all for Windows 7 x64. The Device manager isn't indicating any problems either. I'm having all kinds of internet-related software problems (Skype failing to make calls, Wampserver not showing full connection, etc) and even resorted to another re-install recently. On Vista the problems disappeared and it responded instantly, but I then installed Windows 7 again and I'm back at square one.

The GFX card and PSU are 2.5 years old, but the rest of the PC was bought in March 2011. The motherboard was replaced in May due to suffering from the known SandyBridge issue with the S-ATA controller.
Software-wise:
I run the usual stuff. LibreOffice, Paintshop Pro, etc. Wampserver is required for my work, but that doesn't give any problems on my Windows 7 laptop. The problem appears on a default system, so I'm pretty sure that none of my applications are responsible. Normally I don't use an antivirus on this PC. I'm a careful browser and have another machine with AVG for downloading.
