My Bubbles screen saver looked very nice before ... and now it is choppy and slow. I checked my graphics settings and my monitor's resolution and refresh rates and every thing looks fine ... Any Ideas??

OK, so my computer had a complete meltdown the other day... right after Windows 7 failed to boot, my Linux started having kernel panics and freezing every 5 minutes... so I backed up the Windows partition's files, and wiped the drive (By wiped I mean I deleted the partition, I didn't use a "disk wiping" tool)
Well Linux reinstalled perfectly fine, so I figured it wasn't a hardware failure like I thought it could be... I even used the memtest feature for several hours and it all came back fine.
Well, I reinstalled Windows 7 not once, not twice, but THREE times. The first time, I put all my Windows files back right away (including the Windows folder), but it still had the brand-new look and not my old settings so I wiped it. The second time, literally 5 minutes after I installed it, Windows Update froze up right after installing my Wi-Fi drivers and locked up the entire computer... and after force-rebooting it it became super-sluggish like it was before I reinstalled it (like when I posted on here last time)
This most recent time it worked correctly, but it still doesn't seem to be as fast as when I first installed it. If I plug in my external hard drive with the Windows files, it seems to lock EVEYRTHING up... almost as if my old Windows partition was cursed or something. I deleted the "Windows" folder from it so there was nothing possibly corrupted there, but it still doesn't seem to be perfect.
Well, even with it unplugged, it's frozen up several times now. I only had maybe 3 programs running at once... it's not like I was overloading the computer. I just tried installing Paint.NET and it completely froze my computer twice and now the installer simply won't run. What's even weirder is I did a "chkdsk" from a command prompt, and while it found nothing wrong with my disc, it stopped around 65% and sat there for several minutes. Same as before I wiped out my drive.
I tried sfc /scannow and it terminated at 14%, saying the service couldn't complete...
I might try that again in safe mode, but still, something is still messed up with Windows. Does anybody have any ideas? I mean, would it be likely there's some bad sectors on my drive that Windows can't find? Would defragmenting help? I guess I just don't understand what's going on... I've wiped the drive a few times now and it's still not working perfectly.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit, 3GB RAM, AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core processor, Basically computer will load up fast when booting and even logging in, I have changed settings in msconfig to speed boot, BUT if I lock the computer and log back in it takes around 2-3 minutes for the computer to getting running again just a really big lag especially Google Chrome, when I lock the computer I usually have like 5 programs running WMP, Chrome, Email and maybe steam and xfire running in background.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering what went wrong with my computer because suddenly all my games got laggy. I first encountered this problem playing warcraft, frozen throne. It suddenly has a lot more resolution options, including 1080p, which was not available before. Nonetheless, even if I stick to the resolution which i usually played on, it still laggy. The lag only disappears when I turn it to a much lower resolution setting. Moreover, I tried playing my other games like prototype, and i can't even play properly anymore because of the lag. before this happened i tried cleaning up the insides of my PC(hardware) by blowing off dusts.
View 29 Replies View Relatedi have recently installed the windows 7 rc 64-bit. i have been playing a bit of counter strike source and have noticed a bug when being flashed. this happens when you are flashed and move the screen around, you'll notice that it's laggy and glitchy afterwards. it moves back and forth quite fast to where you last were looking and where you are looking currently. i have it on Internet here:
http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=y_onceataru
does anyone know how to fix this?
i downloaded the latest nvidia drivers for windows 7.
my computer specifications are the following:
graphics: nvidia 9800gx2
cpu: intel c2q q9300.
ram: 4gb
I just installed build 7100 yesterday and i have really enjoyed it so far, but noticed one slight annoyance.
When I close a program or a window, the animation takes effect and the window begins to close, then pauses for literally a nano-second, before closing all the way. Its not much, but its noticeable enough to be an annoyance.
I've only been able to find one other post of someone complaining of the same issue, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone has a fix.
I recently built a new computer with the following specs:
Core i7-2600K @ 3.8GHz
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz
Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/S
Patriot Torqx 2 32GB SSD

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 Motherboard
Realtek 889 Onboard Audio (For Now...)
Noctua NH-C14 CPU Cooler (Dual 140mm Fans)
Thermaltake Black Window 850W Power Supply
LG Blu-Ray Burner Drive (w/ Light Scribe)

I installed Windows 7 64 bit and it was running great for a day but now it lags up when I move the mouse or run Internet Explorer. When I try to type anything in on IE8 the keyboard also lags. I am using a Logitech G15 keyboard and a Razer Diamondback Mouse (non-3G edition). I have the 64 bit drivers for both installed but that didn't seem to assist much. Also, my wireless connection is extremely slow.. slower than my 5 1/2 year old Windows XP 32 bit machine (specs listed in my profile). I'm rather disappointed with the overall performance of it so far compared to my Win XP machine. Why my machine might be lagging when I move the mouse or try to type? Often when I type into the Google search box it will skip letters than I am sure I typed.
i can't play a game without them being so laggy. Its not the driver i already tried the video card is good(it worked very well on XP before i install 7) and so the CPU. i don't know what to do.
my games are NHL 09, sims, rainbow six vegas 2. Even online games like Combat Arms is so laggy althought at first i thought it was the connection but i'm starting to doubt about it..
I have a gateway t-series laptop that will not boot. The battery works fine and the computer turns on (power light comes on and fan spins), but the screen stays completely black. There are some media buttons near the screen that are touch sensitive that should light up when touched, but they don't. I tried resetting the RAM once and that worked as it turned on booted and ran fine, but it quickly over-heated and turned off abruptly. I let it cool and the whole not booting problem came back, and now the resetting-the-RAM trick doesn't work any more. I would appreciate any help as I am starting school soon and need a computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new laptop for my uncle and am unable to connect to my internet via WiFi OR ethernet. When I run the diagnostics it tells me the dns server is not responding. Settings are to automatically connect to dns servers. I have tried changing them to a couple of addresses i have found online and have had no luck. I have many other devices in my household that have no problem connecting to the internet service. I have also run across advice to remove/disable a wireless miniport adapter, which i not found so I am assuming that isnt my issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion DV6-6009TX, I bought it last year during april. Initially, it was doing ok, but starting this year around February, the programs that I launch seems to be not responding every now and then. Even microsoft word, it freezes for a good 10-20 seconds everytime I save a document, and when I type halfway, it will stop responding and resume after around 15 seconds. The problem is even worst when I try to play games. The game will spike every 5 seconds, making it unplayable. What is wrong with my laptop?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is perhaps the worst version of Office I have used. 2000 was fine. Skipped 2003. 2007 was innovative. 2010 was very impressive. 2013 is a serious step back. The new UI is extremely laggy on any computer of mine. The stupid smooth page reflow is just dumb, especially for long documents. Waiting for 50 pages of text to reflow takes forever. Plus, the time needed to save files is so long in Office 15. I hit "ctrl+s" and the entire program locks up, taking a good couple seconds to save. On office 2010, saving was almost instantaneous and I could still type as Office saved the file. This is not mentioning the sheer number of times Office 15 has crashed on me.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAll was well with my computer and one fine day video playback became very laggy and choppy. Also the computer in general slowed down considerably. My first thought was that there had been a virus attack and hence I ran a thorough scan. Nothing showed up. So formatted the whole system and installed Windows 8. Nothing changed. Videos continue to be laggy and overall system performance is slow. I read somewhere this could be because of high DCP latency caused by faulty drivers. I used the original Windows 7 backup DVD given to me by my laptop manufacturer to restore to factory default. No change - laggy video with slow system performance. I used the DCP latency checker to figure out what was causing the high values I was getting and pinned it down to the WiFi driver. The latency is down but choppy video playback and super slow OS continue to bother me. I've run out of options and my patience it's wearing thin.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio VPCEA44FX (how stupid of me to buy a discontinued model >.<) and it won't start It get's to that Windows screen with the colorful flag thing, stays for 5-7 minutes, then bam...BSOD and then it tries to restart, but then before it gets to the Windows start up screen, it says "Operating System not found."I had a problem with this computer before, and I took it to the Sony place to fix it and it was fine. I remember some of the things the tech guy told me on the phone before I brought it in though.I tried to start in Safe Mode With Networking, but it won't work. The last file is starts was CLASSPNP and it just freezes there, it won't start at all.
I turned on my laptop and held F2. I tried to restore my laptop with factory settings, but that did absolutely nothing. Now I think I lost all my pictures and stuff now. When I restarted my computer I got an option 'Boot with Windows Repair' (I THINK that's what it said...I'll fix that later). I tried all those options (even opening the command prompt lol) and nothing. 'Startup Repair' failed. I went to the details and the most seemingly helpful line was on the bottom it said "Root cause found: A hard disk could not be found. If a hard disk is installed, it is not responding." Right now it's sitting in 'Advanced Boot Options' cause idk what to do now...
So today my laptop started to freeze ALOT and a error message saying windows is not reaping keeps coming. So I restart my laptop and then it does same thing again I press Ctrl alt del and then three Louis beeping noises come all the same length like beep beep beep?
I just rebooted and when it was on my desktop it froze and a windows error message came up saying windows is not responding and it Ives me two options 1.end windows or 2. Wait for it to respond I clicked 2 and it turned to a grey screen and after 15 mins it came back to life.
I've had my laptop for about a year now and suddenly I've had this random freezes. Freezes are momentary and when it goes back to working properly a message shows up saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I've ran malwarebytes and super antispyware and there's no problem. What should my next step be?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe computer will stop responding, the cursor shows the busy blue ring (spinning, not frozen), and I can still move the blue ring around, but unable to click on anything. CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, nothing works. Tried leaving it overnight but it didn't solve the problem. I had to force shut down by holding the Power button. This problem happens at random times, while using random applications, online or not, sometimes within a few minutes after turning on the computer, sometimes hours, but it happens almost every time. I have also tried turning on the computer and left it without using anything, and the same problem will happen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I right-click with the Performace Setting "Fade or slide menus into view" it doesnt really "slide" into view it just displays a white box for a split second then the menu slides open into the white box. My pc is in perfect running condition so its not a performance issue or anything. Also it doesnt happen every time I right-click just like 50% of the time. And the other 50% is cuz it doesn't slide it just pops up instantly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with artifacts (sprinkled dots and rainbow-ish shapes) popping up on my screen whenever I put my laptop to any more demanding use, like games, videos, hi-res images, etc. This leads to the system hanging up, repeated "Driver stopped responding and recovered errors", and eventually a blue screen. If I shutdown my computer and restart it, it tends to go away for a few days before returning to normal. I ran the Furmark stress test and it immediately caused the above symptoms and I had to stop it. I'm aware that this kind of problem may have several possible causes. I'm hoping maybe someone with a similar system (see my system specs) has overcome this.Edit: Wow, great timing. I was just trying to play Osmos just now and I got an error message I never noticed before. The game froze up and the "driver stopped responding" message came up but this time I got an Nvidia Open GL error that said "The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close. [URL]
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately, sometimes at random one of my opened programs would freeze ant not respond. So I would use Task Manager to delete the process. But then that not responds and then I can't to anything and have to force restart by holding the power button.e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Task Manager are open. Chrome freezes, then task manager and firefox would be fine until i open up a new tab or affect it in anyway.
