View 23 RepliesLately, sometimes at random one of my opened programs would freeze ant not respond. So I would use Task Manager to delete the process. But then that not responds and then I can't to anything and have to force restart by holding the power button.e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Task Manager are open. Chrome freezes, then task manager and firefox would be fine until i open up a new tab or affect it in anyway.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've tried just about anything I can get my hands on for a week now and I still can't solve the problem. I keep getting disconected from the net or worse not even connected and get the message that the DNS server is not responding.I tried removing NIS (Norton) but it doesn't help, then I entered "safe mode"with networking and as a miracle everything is perfect and the speed connecting to a web page is outstanding.

Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding.
when i connect to the wireless internet, my laptop seems to be connecting, but taking longer than usual.
i have flushed the dns cache, and disabled IPv6
I'm experiencing wireless connection problem right in the middle of browsing. Loading of page suddenly stops. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop with Windows 7 on it, which hosts a virtualbox VM which runs Windows XP. For some reason I can't connect to the internet from my Windows 7 machine, however I can connect fine from the VM which runs on top of it? My wife primarily uses the VM so I'm not sure exactly when this stopped working, it used to work fine. When running the troubleshooting tool it tells me the Firewall may be preventing the program from running, so I turned the firewall off but that didn't change anything. A second problem the tool indicates is that "Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)". I have tried releasing and renewing my ipconfig, also to no avail.

Ok, after 4 days of research and much head scratching, I will enter the fray. I think that my problem is in my router after reading everything I can find on the net. I'm getting the error ' DNS server not responding' but have followed suggestions from this site and others to resolve the problem. I ran into a problem with my router, and had to do a hard reset to factory defaults. After I had restored info provided by my ISP for settings required by them, I have network connectivity and I have Internet, but the two will not connect. I can ping my router from the network, but cannot connect to the Internet. I know just enough about networking to be dangerous to my self. Unfortunately for me this is my business network, and it is vital that i have internet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having problems connecting with the internet on my PC. I have a Linksys WRTP54G router and am running two computers (desktop, laptop) on wirless G and an Xbox 360 wired.
I flashed the firmware on the router and this seems to have cause problems, but the new firmware is way better for VOIP and has improved the wired connection.
Weird thing is, my laptop with the integrated wirless card connects to the internet and network without a hiccup.
The desktop keeps connecting to the network, but has no internet connection. The diagnostic says the DNS server isn't responding. Both those fields for IPV4 are set to obtain automatically, the same as my laptop. IPV6 is not being used for any of the computers.
The only difference I see between the setups are that my desktop uses a USB wireless card. For some reason when I connection to my network which is called "connection" with the desk top it shows up as "connection 2".
I have tried re-installing the USB adaptor, I have manually given IP address and the DNS servers. None of it works, keep getting "The DNS Server isn't Responding".
last night, without any reason, my f4, f5, f6, and esc keys stopped working. it solved itself, but shortly afterwords it did it again, and even after two reboots i cannot get them to work again. i use hotkeys all the time in firefox and elsewhere, and these are probably my most-used keys. they're very useful and not being able to use them feels really restricting. i don't know what caused this, but i do know that both times it happened i was browsing Internet. i don't know if that's coincidental or not, but at this point i just don't care.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Internet Explorer IE8 and IE9 plus most of my programs like office and so forth give me "not responding" about a third of the time so I have to wait a minute for it to start responding. I went out and bought myself a SSD 60 GB for my OS. So I'm thinking of putting on my SSD drive and just building my OS from scratch. But before that I was also thinking of reinstalling my OS but I have the full version. Then Windows 8 Beta is coming out month after next and was going to put my SSD drive on that but can always get another one. So any ideas how I should approach this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed windows 7100 x64 on my acer 5920G laptop.
t7300, 8600mgt, 2gigs of ram
antivirus: nod32 v4.
The problem is that after a period of time of using my laptop (movies, browsing,...) it just ends responding. (I'm talking about 10-15minutes of use) for example:
Im watching an xvid, the xvid freezes, I say '**** not again'. Then I try to exit the mediaplayer and get to my desktop, try to get to the taskmanager but can't. Then it freezes. The hdd light remains on and stays like this. after this I do a forced shutdown but pushing the button for 7sec.
This same problem also occures when I'm on the net with my mozilla firefox browser, I don't know about the other browsers but I'm guessing that they would have the same issue.
All my devices work fine except for the intel turbo memory (pci memory controller) for wich i can't find a driver... there's another thread about it on this forum but the people don't seem the have the same problem I'm experiencing.
I am finding often that when I am running programs that even whilst they are running I get a response at the top of the program especially when I use Pro Tools say that it is not responding. I have adjusted my hard drives so that they don't go to sleep after a set period so why is it that I am constantly receiving this error?

View 4 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my keyboard stopped working. I believe I was uninstalling VMWare, which did not complete (but I don't know if that has any effect on it). I obviously tried the batteries, different keyboards to make sure it wasn't something simple. I tried plugging in to different USB ports (which all recognize the keyboard and installs the drivers) but it simply does not recognize the characters that I type. I have a several different keyboards that I have tried and I can not get them to work on the computer. The mouse works fine, and the volume and calculator key's work, along with the function keys. Everything else on the keyboard does not work. I have uninstalled all the hubs, re-installed driver's, which show the keyboard is installed (with no ! or error). I have ran out of options to consider, I am about to delete all the registry keys regarding the keyboards. I have been using the onscreen keyboard to login.I have both Logitech and Microsoft keyboards and installed and uninstalled Setpoint, Intellitype.
