I have a Logitech G15 keyboard that refuses to wake up when the computer resumes. Everything else wakes fine and I do have power to it, but no response to key input. I have to unplug the KB, then plug it back in for the system to see it. It is plugged in to a hub along with my mouse and a few other things. Any ideas?

"powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" tells me that my keyboard is allowed to wake my computer
"powercfg -a" tells me that S3 mode is supported, but S1 and S2 is disabled (that's normal)

Solutions tryed, unsuccessfully:
- resetting BIOS/CMOS
- updating BIOS and all other drivers to latest versions
- disabling all other USB devices
- tryed every single USB slots, with and without USB hubs, usb2 instead of usb3 and vice-versa...
- tryed with two different power supplies
- tryed different keyboards
- tryed mouse instead of keyboard, LAN instead of USB...
I have Windows 7 installed on my Asrock Ion 330 system as a HTPC. It works great. I am using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard with a BT dongle that goes in the Asrock's USB port. Well I am not able to wake the PC from Sleep mode with the BT keyboard. I have another Logitech wireless keyboard that uses a USB 27 Mhz receiver that is able to wake the computer from sleep. So I don't think it's an issue with my USB hubs not being powered in sleep and thus able to wake the system. The keyboard that is able to wake the computer does have a On/OFF button in the corner whereas the BT one does not.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Curiously under Device Manager when I look at the two keyboard properties the wireless one has a Power Management tab with an option to wake from sleep which is checked, whereas the BT keyboard does not have a Power Management tab available. I am wondering if this is a problem inherent in BT, or if I need to get a new BT dongle, or what.
Bought a GW DX4860, it comes preinstalled with Win 7 and I have it hooked up to a Dell (S2240M) monitor. I noticed that once the PC goes into hibernate (Power led is blinking) that I can not wake it with keyboard (USB) or Mouse (USB). The only way is to hold down the power button for a while. Then the screen pops up saying that I did not shut window down propoerly - probably because I hard booted the PC.

I can't get my laptop to wake up by pressing keys on the keyboard or by clicking the mouse. The only way I can get it out of standby is to press a key on the actual laptop or click something with the laptop's built it touchpad.
I already tried looking in Device Manager but there is no Power Management tab for the keyboard or the mouse. There is only a Power Management tab on the laptop's built in keyboard and touchpad.
It's kind of annoying not being able to use the wireless devices to wake up the computer. I've read around that maybe it's because since the computer is on standby, the wireless keyboard and mouse's USB receiver aren't being powered by the laptop.
On my Vista computer, my wireless keyboard/mouse wakes the computer. But on my Windows 7 computer, it doesn't. Is there some setting somewhere?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy brand new Logitech G510 keyboard won't wake my PC up from sleep mode. My mouse (Razor DeathAdder) will wake up PC from sleep mode. When it does wake from sleep mode I hear the beeps like new hardware has been found and then I can use my keyboard. I've checked for the latest firmware and software from Logitech's website, but it's a fiasco looking for updated drivers and firmware on their site.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy pc can wake up from sleep if it is shut down, but if it's on sleep or hibernated, i can not wake it up. I've already turned on everything in Bios and Windows. There no option like WakeOnLAN from Sleep, just WakeOnLan from PowerOff in network adapter's Advanced tab properties. I've also updated network car driver. Maybe I should try with other network card?

I put the laptop in sleep mode at night, and none of the alarm clock programs that I have tried have succeeded in waking it. I am able to wake it manually by pressing the power button. Wake timers have been enabled and hybrid sleep is disabled. It is an NP5125 from Sager.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively old laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad x61) which is running 32-bit Windows 7 and has an intel NIC.I have been trying to setup wake-on-lan (inmy local network) for this machine for a couple of days and haven't been able to make it completely work. I have upgraded the bios and the drivers on the machine to the latest versions and also enabled WOL in the bios and in the driver for the NIC. When I put the machine in sleep and then after 10 - 15 minutes send a magic packet from a remote machine, it does wake up.The problem is, when the machine goes to sleep and stays in sleep mode for a long time (over night), then I can't wake it up any more. The machine is still in the sleep mode (it does not hibernate), but I think it turns off something after being in sleep for a while.

It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. My mrs said she was trying to type in a website and windows kept popping up when she typed, and then she logged out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop seems to have problems with most USB devices. It is running Win 7 professional 64 bit. Firstly it will only take a HP external keyboard. I have tried a Microsoft KB and a Kensington KB and neither would work. A standard mouse will work OK. Then I tried to use a Plantronic BUA200 BT dongle. Had one working after about 2 days of fiddling, then got a new one and it sits with a yellow triangle saying it needs a driver, but can't find any. The odd thing is the dongle will still pair with the headset. So I bought a USB headset today and gets the same thing. Windows tries to install it, but says it fails to find the drivers. Have run Windows update twice recently, so that is all up to date. USB flash drives seem to be OK.

I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I cloned Windows 7 onto � new SSD Crucial 256GB M4 disk I was not able to boot from the new SSD disk.I reinstalled Windows on the new SSD disk but dont want to reinstall all programs so i booted again from the old disk with myWindows 7 on it.But now my keyboard doesnt work after Windows 7 is loaded. The keyboard is completly dead but my mouse stil worksThe keyboard does works in Bios and does work when i boot with the new SSD disk.The keyboard does not work with my old disk. I have a Dell Vostro 1050 with 2Gb RAM and 320 HDD space. i bought this laptop new and it worked for just one day and the following day when i started it in the morning after like 5 minutes, nothing was responding. i mean the curse wasn't moving, the key board keys not working and nothing was responding till when i had to long press the power button and turned it off. Turning it back on it worked for the next 30 minutes, then it froze again. i have tried changing the RAM chips and Used Different HDD's but all in vain.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.

I installed its drivers, plugged it in, worked great I loved it!Then after a reboot, both my regular keyboard (Razer Lycosa Mirror) and the n52te don't work in games only. But its ONLY when using the WASD keys to move around, if I go to chat in game, the keyboard works fine. Just using the WASD keys doesn't work, unless I tap the space bar, that usually makes you up, and if it doesn't make you jump, the WASD keys work again. the other keys on the keyboard, n52te and Lycosa, work such as the c, v, e, q, z, x, and many others.
If your confused, (like me) the WASD keys don't make you move even though they should, until you hit the space bar, then they (WASD keys) work until they get stuck moving me. I then have to press the key that moves me in the direction. ex. stuck going left, I have to hit the D key, then the space bar to be able to move again. But I can type just fine in games. Also this problem only occurs in games, no other applications. It seems to happen where a key is needed to be pressed, but does not type a letter (Flash games, Crysis, Various other games) But it works fine in a browser, or other writing app. to type

Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.

I've tried reinstalling drivers by removing the little dongle and putting it in a different USB but it doesn't help. What is strange is the keyboard has an FN key but no keys to use in conjunction with it.
My laptop recently became buggered by a virus and as I did not have a windows 7 installation disc I decided to restore it to its factory default using some sort of dell backup utility.Since I did this my touchpad and keyboard no longer seems to work! keyboard works fine when i select f8 on startup as i can flick through the options however when i boot into safe mode the touchpad and keyboard still don't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've run into an old problem when trying to reinstall windows 7, when I put the CD in and alter the BIOS to boot from CD, I get to the screen saying "Press any key to boot from CD" or something like that.
I've got a logitech G15 keyboard and a Microsoft media keyboard, both are USB, when I press them there is no response and it boots from the harddisk. I've had this problem ever since I installed Windows XP, first I thought it was a keyboard issue, but then I got the G15 and the problem persisted.
Since then I've replaced the motherboard, PSU, infact I think I've changed every single component, but the problem persist. Anyone have an idea of what is causing this? I'm forced to dig into the old storage at work for old PS/2 keyboards every time I'm installing a new OS
PS: The keyboards both work perfectly in BIOS, after booting an OS and when the installation disk has booted. Just in that place in between where you need to press buttons to either boot from various media or skip disk checks etc.
