Is it bad that my cell phone resting place is right next to my external hd? I just noticed too that my bose computer speaker is very close to the hd as well, do these devices have magnets that will negatively affect the hd?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my internet connection. I can't get high speed on my road so its a lot better than dial up. Any way I've used it for a few years and now I cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and I had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when I try to query the modem or connect to the internet. I am pretty sure I just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few differnt drivers and no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor unknown reason, I suddenly encountered problem with highlighting text on Internet Explorer (8) and words document (office 2003). I also have problem with dragging a cell (for copying a formula) to other cells in excel. I tried to play around with my keyboard (pause/break and scroll lock key), sometimes it worked for once, but I it won't work the next time I tried.
FYI, I am using windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and a razer keyboard (using windows default driver). I probably can try to install the driver from razor, however, i thought there is probably a simple fix for the issue i.e. a certain key from the keyboard got activated by accident (my little daughter sometimes punched the keyboard for fun).
Quite spontaneously and for no apparent reason, I can no longer copy/paste a simple "add contents of 2 cells" to empty cells (e.g. e3+d4, to the next cells down the column, etc.). No matter what I do it will only copy the actual contents i.e. the result of the previous calculation. What I have tried:-
1. Deleting all contents and formats from the range of cells and starting over;
2. Using the drop-down menu of the paste button to select the "paste-special / formula" option (which keeps jumping back to the first default option at the top of the list);
3. Running the Office diagnostics built-in software off the microsoft top-left button to detect faults and anomalies - Nothing works and I am at a loss.......most peculiar...........
is it possible to do an in place upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit using full retail DVDs. I know I will have to update progs to 64Bit but there is plenty else which will not be affected.

I provide support for several computers at one location. I have arranged the icons to make it easy for users to find them. It seems that someone (probably a kid) who rearranges them almost everyday by selecting 'auto arrange icons'. Is there any way to lock them in place to prevent this from happening?

This has been driving me nuts since i've had 7, but i really don't want to have to install some program to eliminate it. i really don't think i should have to. Every time I have a folder open, when i open another one it opens tight on top of the first one, they always are the same size which i don't want either. In other versions of windows i was always able to get each particular folder to open where i want on the desktop and any size i want by simply putting stretching it to the size i want and putting it where i want then closing it. It would open there every time thereafter even after restarting.

Now after you made a lot you might not remember them all after some time and it'll be nice if there's a place to see a list of them (in registry or elsewhere) instead having to check all your shortcuts..! I guess there is, but where?
