PC Will Not Follow Hyperlinks
Dec 28, 2012I am operating Windows 7 with IE9 as default browser. I use outlook for my e-mail. Recently while downloading a program I inadvertantly allowed Google Chrome to be installed.. I have uninstalled google, rebooted but when attempting to follow hyperlinks in my email I get the message that that operation has been cancelled due to computer restrictions and to contact systems administrater. That's me. My settings show IE 9 as my default browser.

Jun 23, 2010I have Windows 7 on my computer. With IE8 as the default browser. I use AOL for my E-mail provider. For the past two days, the hyperliniks in my e-mail don't work when I click on them. I have the e-mail settings set to allow hyperlinks to work. IE8 is set to the default browser. I do have firefox also on the computer. But, removed it to see if that was maybe causing issues. No change.I re-installed the software for my mouse. Thinking maybe it became corrupted.

I thought it might be an Outlook problem but today I notice there are other programs which should automatically go to a webpage which aren't functioning.I think I downloaded some dodgy software yesterday and uninstalled it, so almost certain that's what's caused the problem.I am using Win7, by the way.

Apr 9, 2012I like to save hperlinks of web sites by click-dragging the site's address from the address bar in my browser and dragging the address into a subdirectory in Windows Explorer so that I can open it from that location in the future.With IE8 I was able to grab the icon at the front of the address bar and drag it into the subdirectory, creating a hyperlink to that web site. That same method works with Google Chrome. When I do that with IE9 the hyperlink is created but the tab separates from the browser window and opens in a new window. I'd rather the tab stay in the same window.how I can turn this off (the separating tab)?

Nov 14, 2012I can hover over the link but I do not get the cursor to change into a "fist" it remains as it would if writing a Word document.I cannot recall changing settings and I have searched through Yahoo help but cannot seem to find a solution. I though perhaps that it could be that I have e-mails in plain text not html, but cannot find where to check. However I do get images in e-mails and so don't think it is plain text.How can I restore the function to be able to click hyperlinks? I am running Windows 7, 64 bit version, and Yahoo Mail classic.

Nov 22, 2011I have Windows 7 64 bit and IE9 and Firefox loaded. When I click on a hyperlink within a trusted e-mail it says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator but cannot get this to work. This has happened since I updated my IE a few months ago. I have tried the usual fixes but not registry key fixes as I try to leave them alone. Is that the only solution or is there something else out there? Should I remove IE9 and start over?

I get the message: (every time I try and open a folder on my c/drive - Can't access Windows Explorer folder on the taskbar and any other folder or file by double clicking it. I can open them by right clicking, then open)
"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a progra or, if one is already installed, create an assocation in the Default Programs control Panel".
I can open applications. But, I can not open the folder for them lets say in c:/program files -- the only way to open them is by rightclicking, then open. If I double click, I get the above error message. (same issue with "my documents", "My pictures", etc).
Included with the above problems: I now, can not access User Accounts. When I go into Control Panel, click User Accounts.. I can not manage existing ones, nor can I "Add or remove user accounts". I click the link and nothing happens.
I have someething built into the computer called "Dell DataSafe Backup". Its a recovery partition/part of the HDD that saves all my files for a recovery. However, I can NOT access it. I click the "Dell DataSafe" in my taskbar and nothing happens..
Unable To Connect To Wifi - No Network Access/limited Access
Nov 10, 2011Last night I was on the internet at home absolutely fine and my laptop automatically downloaded an update, since then I have been unable to connect to my wi-fi. I deleted the updates and was still unable to connect, so I tried to used a system recovery restore point and every one I use starts but fails to complete.So, I did a factory reset after around 8 hours of trying to sort it out today and I STILL have the same problem. I can plug in the cable to connect and my housemate is having absolutely no issues connecting and neither is my phone so now I am at a total loss what I should do to resolve this. Prior to the factory reset I was able to connect to the wi-fi but it was stating no network access/limited access and now it simply won't connect to my internet at all. It finds my full strength signal but will not connect.My drivers for the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n card are the most up to date and the laptop (HP G62) says it is working fine.

Sep 20, 2011I have one PC running Vista (home basic), one running XP (professional) and one running Windows 7 (home basic). There is a printer connected to the Vista box, which is shared.
On the XP box I can both see and use the printer on the Vista box (i.e. a "net view \vistabox" shows the printer, and under "printers and faxes" I can install and use it).
On the Windows 7 box, however, I can see the Vista box (i.e. a "net view" shows it in the list of available PCs on the network) but a "net view \vistabox" gives me an "access denied" error.
The Windows 7 machine has a password on it, the Vista and XP machines don't. All machines are on the same workgroup name (which is "WORKGROUP"). On the XP box I don't need a password to access the shared printer on the Vista machine; it just works.
Extensive Googling has failed to render enlightenment, nor has browsing this forum. I'm sure it has something to do with security and passwords, somewhere, somehow, but I have no idea in which direction to look for it, let alone fix it. I have also read some things about workgroups and homegroups not being the same in Windows 7, but I'm not sure if this is correct (and if so, relevant).

Our Xfinity Cable/WAP modem sits on the top floor of our house. I am located in the basement. The wireless signal I get most of the time is very good, and by very good i mean at least 15+ mb/s on [URL]
I am taking the Cisco Network Academy classes and am familiar with network terminology and concepts. However, what I'm trying to do is take a router/WAP (using it downstairs where I'm located) and configure it to access our xfinity modem upstairs, so that I can plug in to it downstairs using a RJ-45.
Let me know what yall think. By the way the router/wap i would be using is a netgear model unknown at this moment but could easily find out.
