View 2 RepliesIs there somewhere similar to this where I can get help with Windows Server 2011? All I'm trying to do is add Google as a search provider in IE8, and I'm hitting rafts of problems, and not getting even remotely close to success. I go: Tools -> Internet Options -> Change search defaults Settings -> Find more search providers, I get a new IE8 window with a "Content is being blocked" (Url) (and then several others). I don't have a clue what to do about this, so I just close the window. Eventually, I get a webpage that mentions Google with an "Add to Internet Explorer". I click that button, but all I get is "! Error on page"
View 2 Replies View RelatedCertain websites such as eBay, Facebook & Hotmail are not loading correctly. Once I hit log in the page just shows as text to the left hand side of the screen. I have cleared all history, cookies & cache, I have restarted my computer, I have tried accessing them under a different windows PC user name, upgraded Mozilla, tried internet explorer, upgraded Java and made sure it was enabled.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe last few days when I've been viewing websites on any browser (IE, FF, Chrome, Opera), they haven't been loading or displaying properly. Sometimes they're fine but frequently, pages aren't loading entirely, displaying html code. Images are distorted, blurred or looks wrong. Sometimes refreshing the page loads everything and sometimes it doesn't help. Here are some examples.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry to trouble you all. We have WIN7. When you click on the Window's Logo you can see Programs & to the right of that in a different shaded area is Control Panel, Computer, etc. I'm not sure what the correct term is for this area but that entire area is now blank! I can get access to Control Panel, My Computer, etc. from other ways but this is really odd. Please see link to screen shot to get a better idea what I'm discussing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I quickly delete the content.ie5 folder? I've tried just deleting the folders(8) within the file but it takes forever and freezes up (right clicking & deleting). I tried through cmd prompt, but it still takes a long time. Is there a cmd prompt that'll just delete the file as a whole...I think I used something like /d and tried to do an individual folder and it took a while and I gave up...this was about 2 months ago. I saw a new cmd command rmdir /s...I don't know know if it's quicker or not. Is there a program I can download. And I right clicked and clicked on properties to see how big the file is and it's 85gb. I have screenshots and need a quick solution. It takes forever to do a virus scan, because it keeps getting hung up in the content.ie5 folder. And a couple of months ago...I found a virus/adware in those folders.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been looking to see if there's a button, setting, feature, etc, to search files by content ONLY. I found in Folder Options the radio button to include content in searches. But that's too broad.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I get Win 7 Professional Upgrade disk, does it contain the other versions of the OS as well? Or is specific to whatever version you get? For example, with my Win 7 Profession Upgrade disk I want to upgrade my sister's Home Basic laptop to Win 7 Starter/Home Premium and my parent's Home Premium to Win 7 Home Premium. Would I be able to this with my one disk?
Would I be able to use a Full version of Win 7 to upgrade any exiting computer using their Keys?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently, my Vuze, Moyea FLV downloader, and Amazon Unbox (just installed today) are unable to connect to the internet. I can't even complete the Unbox install because I get an error message every time I try to complete the setup. I've gone through my firewall and added allowances, tweaked settings, everything -- I even turned it off to see if the Unbox install would finish properly. It didn't. I still got the error message telling me that it couldn't connect to the internet. Did I break something in my logs? What's happened, here? Trillian and things like that work fine, it's just these certain programs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to stream content over a LAN. One computer will act as the "content host" and one or more computers will act as "content clients". Is there any software that can stream content from one computer to several computers.
My network contains DHCP addresses, and it is comprised of Windows 7 x64 Professional Computers.
Ideally the "content streaming" solution will be compatible with Multiple Operating Systems.
My computer is getting really hot lately (CPU can get to 96C/~200F), and I have some weird bugs as well. I have an HP pavilion laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate.
Some of the bugs are when SOMETIME I'm trying to delete a big file, it says "discovering..." but doesn't delete anything. When I open certain folders the green bar at the top just keeps on loading and loading even after all the previews of pictures/videos are done. Sometimes it doesn't even show the previews of some pictures/videos (and it did show without a problem in the past). It also happened to me that I opened the control panel, and I couldn't see anything (usually when the temp are really high and the fan is on max). After restarting my computer everything turned back to normal, but then it happens again...
For an antivirus I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and for anti-malware I'm using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
A few weeks ago I noticed that my Aronis TI 2011 images were getting larger each day. So I logged the amount of used space on my C drive from Oct 24 to Nov 1. The used space grew from 45.5 GB to 59 Gb in that time. It used to be less than 40 Gb for the longest time. I have not installed anything that would account for this growth, especially a few GB each day. Have scanned with MSE and Mal software removal tool and have found nothing. What should I do? Is there a log somewhere I could see where his growth might be coming from?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been all over the internet and through the tutorials. I have searched Windows Help and I can't seem to find the answer. To be fair I am an XP user and am completely sold on Seven albut for this one problem.
I am searching for very specific strings that are contained in multiple XLS files in a single subdirectory. I know that these strings exist in a Text field in all of these files. Windows search doesn't seem to have an advanced search screen and it always fails to find any numbers. As a matter of fact it shows no hits at all.
I came to rely on Windows Desktop Search on both XP & Vista platforms (combined with Tim Heuer's Preview handler) but I cannot get content searching to work in Windows 7. Filenames are indexed, but PDF file content is not.I've tried both the release candidate and now the pro version of Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried installing both the Foxit and the Adobe 64-bit IFilters. I have the required directories setup for indexing. I have tried re-building the index.I posted this issue 6 months ago. One response was "Let's hope this is fixed in the final version". It wasn't!

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've been having an issue with flash content for the past three weeks now, i've tried just about anything and i'm becoming desperate. i've conducted a wide variety of tests on the various components in my build, but i'm still no closer to discovering what the issue may be. the issue occasionally, when watching flash content, my computer will freeze and i'll lose all control over the mouse and keyboard. it sounds like the computer is about to blue screen (looping audio), but it doesn't - it just hangs on the same image for anywhere between 15 seconds to 2 minutes. sometimes, i need to hard restart my system in order to use the computer again. this will typically happen when flash content is played full-screen on websites like Internet and twitch.tv, and on resolutions higher than 480p - but i have experienced (less frequent) crashes when the content is not full-screen, at 360p. it just seems to be video that causes the problem, as i've yet to have any issues with websites that present an alternative form of flash content. hardware: processor: intel i5-2500k @ 3.30ghzgraphics card: nvidia geforce gtx 570 1280mbmotherboard: asrock z68 extreme4 gen3memory: kingston hyperx genesis grey 8gbpsu: cooler master silent pro modular 700w nothing is overclocked, and i'm running windows 7 x64 home premium sp1. i've uploaded my dxdiag here. what have i done to try and diagnose the problem? -enabled and disabled hardware acceleration.-updated to latest graphics card drivers, also rolled back to previous versions i've known to work previously with my system.-monitored system usage/temperatures when watching hd flash content. nothing out of the ordinary.-ran memtestx86 for 24 hours. no errors.-ran prime95 blend for 24 hours. no errors.-furmark for 2 hours to test graphics card stability, things seemed fine. have been playing far cry 3 continuously on high settings for the past few days with zero instability.-i've tried downloading older versions of flash, and using different browsers. no change. when did it start? the issue started when i updated the bios for my motherboard (asrock z68 extreme4 gen3) from v1.20 to v2.20, since then i've updated to v2.30. i would roll back to v1.20, but it's simply not possible according to various sources i've read online. thoughts i'm pretty sure my hardware is fine. all the tests i've done indicate my system is stable when i'm not running flash content. i've been playing games, writing documents for university and browsing the internet with absolutely no issues (as long as i don't watch any flash content). i suspect there are compatibility issues with flash, my hardware setup and the latest bios updates from asrock, but maybe i've missed something.
