View 0 Replies View RelatedI run Win 7 32-bit and IE8 on my laptop. Until approximately two days ago I could control scrolling in My Favorites, with ability to scan one folder or it's contents at a time. Now, unable to control this action, and after the last visible line, if I try to go further down, the scroller automatically starts over at the top. A similar problem occurs on several websites, but always occurs with Favorites in IE 8. When using Firefox, I can control the scrolling without any problem. I remember that this issue came up about a year ago, when many of us were trying to understand what was going on; unfortunately, I don't remember how it was fixed! I've reset, cleaned cat-hairs from, and changed battery in mouse - not the problem. Windows has added a ton of recent automatic updates and I think one of them is causing the problem. I can view a number of them, and see they are related to Win Office, but due to inability to scroll down any further, I can't view those which may be related to IE.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have start->run history kept while not keeping a history of the recently launched programs from the menu?
I know under the properties you have "Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu", but this is what controls both.
I'm figuring theres probably some registry entry that will let me control them individually.
You know how when you make changes inside a folder or any directory under windows 7 using explorer, updates, new files downloaded, any changes will reflect in that folder listing/view instanteously, without you having to hit the "refesh" button on the address bar to see what changes took place in that folder. My problem is with the new Fantom Drive ext USB HDD I bought. Anything I do inside that drives folder hiearchy of files. Like downloading new files from firefox, or unraring a bunch of archives; all changes will not show until I go manually hit the folder refresh button every time. Why is that not automatic? Like it is with my main internal C Drive, and my other ext usb LaCie HDD.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
When you click on start, there is a little box that you can type anything in. Is there a history of everything you have typed in that box?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI never had a problem before with other versins of IE but now when I go check my history all it shows is where I have been on my computer, nothing about where I have been on the net. I uninstalled to make sure it was not a faulty install. I made sure I had enough disk space, I made sure it was not deleting as soon as I shut down, its set to 20 days. Went to the location where it supposed to be stored and even there it only has files I have accessed that are on my computer. It is showing very recent files in my drop down address bar but that is it. I cleaned up my cookies, cleared cache, deleted temp files. Running out of options.

if i want to check another users chatting history so any way to check this ? without logging or without any Software ?
I cannot view my "Update History", its gone. But, I can view my "Installed Updates". I'm thinking the History is a text file that some how was deleted, whereas the installed updates are installed and live.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my new computer about 3-4 months ago but the other day it decided to stop saving web history. It will show some pages but not all. If it does save, it will save the initial page but nothing after that. Normally when opening a website, a bar will appear above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that says 'Website found, Waiting for reply...' on the left hand side and 100% on the right, etc., that bar is no longer appearing. I've check the internet options part and the 'delete browsing history on exit' is unchecked. Disk space is set at 250 and days at 20. I'm running windows 7, IE 9.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I go into history to find a recently visited website, I am only getting My Computer's history (jpegs, mp3s etc) and not a list of websites. Of the 5 options available, only 'view by most visited' will give a list of websites, which is useless to me as I can recall those by memory anyway - the other 4 options just give a My Computer history

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn IE8, typing in the search bar generated a list of previous search queries starting with the same characters. In IE9, I don't get the same. According to the Privacy Statement, Quote: AutoComplete collects and stores in the registry on your computer the data you type in ...the Address bar. This is a very useful feature of IE8, making it possible to re-use complicated search strings like g site:gloucestershire.gov.uk - all I had to do was type g and this string would appear as the first result. Substitute keywords for the g, select a provider and watch the results stream in.how do I make autocomplete in the Address Bar show previously-entered search strings as well as URLs and page titles?

View 1 Replies View RelatedYou know one can acces to the recent files/folders on explorer or other programs by right-clicking on them in the taskbar.
For some time, I've no more list, nowhere. I've no more history when I right-click on Explorer (or other programs such as Notepad, Paint) in the taskbar. And the tasks associated to programs such as Media Player don't work : I click on them and... nothing.
However it's worked properly before. Do you know what is the problem and how to repair ? (I've the impression a registry key is missing or similar problem ).
I missed some cmd.exe output today and I would really have liked to know what that was. I know it wasn't malware, but that's not the point Is there a way to make cmd.exe copy all it's output to a text file automatically or something similar that I could use to check back on what my system did there?I already checked google, it said there's "no way". Only with powershell, but that's not exactly what I want because I don't really do a lot of that stuff, but I'd come back to it, if nobody knows anything else.
