How To Register As Administrator
Jul 21, 2011
I am trying to install Skype on my computer. However, Skype program does not allow me to install Skype telling me that I do not have privilege and that I need to register as administrator. I am the only user of the computer and have register as admin. when it was set up.
How do I "register" again as admin.? I do not find that option on the computer.
I have Windows 7 Pro. 32 bit. and I am using Internet Explorer 9. I am using Paretologic Driver Cure and my drivers are up-to-date.

problem with self-registration of my dll.The dll fails with an error - "The following files did not self-register or unregister ---- Access is Denied". I am the administrator of the machine.I have turned off the UAC. I have registry rights too.The dll has been developed by us and it is working fine in XP. The installation package has been build using InstallShield_7.01 on a Windows 7 machine. The software has been working fine on Windows XP without any issue for years now but on Windows 7 it is having problem with registration of the dll components. Is it an issue of some protected registry keys of windows 7 on which i might not have permission. If so how to access those registry. On manually registering the dll using the regsvr32, we are able to register the dll and the software works fine.I want to know how can i correct this error without manually using the regsvr32.

A little background and info: I support a number of people who for one reason or another need to be able to do things a local admin can do like install programs and start services (or more accurately allow a program they're running to start a service). All users are in the local administrators group. The local admin account is enabled (and renamed) so that we as administrators have local access when the machine comes in for service. The machines are joined to a AD domain so that we can control a lot of the security via GPO. Everything worked fine in XP.
We are getting a few different "you do not have permission" errors. When the user tries to run OpenAFS (which starts a service) they get a "you do not have permission" error. There is no way around this error.
Also, when the users try to run Lotus Notes they get a "you do not have permission" error. When we go into compatibility mode and check the "run as administrator" (or just right click and "run as administrator) it works fine, but they have to click the elevated privileges. The program was installed while logged in as the user.
Again, all users are members of the local administrators group. When the local admin account logs in all these programs run fine. This behavior started in Vista and I chalked it up to "vista sucks". Windows 7 so far seems to be great, except that like in vista, members of the local administrators group are not really local administrators. How do I make them true local administrators?

I use an old XP app (JetToolbar - available at JetToolBar - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com) and do not want to change but I cant make it work on Windows 7. The application installs and starts up just fine but it is not possible to drag icons/programs/files to the toolbar - I just get the 'no entry' sign (Circle with line through)However, the application runs fine when logged on to the hidden Administrator account. If I set up the application in the hidden Admin account and then log on as a normal admin user and run it from that account, the icons I set up are just not visible. So what do I have to change in my normal user account (member of administrators) to make this drag and drop work?I have tried 'Run as administrator' but that made no difference. Ive read about dropping to 'Run as User' apps from 'Run as Admin' apps but that's not the problem (at least problem occurs when app is run as user or run as admin)

Ok, every time I turn on my laptop I get a message saying that the wireless configuration notification dll is not registered.
I have found what DLL it is exactly, it's wltrynt.dll. I have used many, MANY different codes to register it, but NONE work. Both in Run and CMD. I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. RegSvr helper won't even run at all, and as usual with Windows, it gives you a random error with no help whatsoever. -_-
make me a correct code to register it? wltrynt.dll is in C:WindowsSystem32wltrynt.dll

I have worked out that I can drag and drop the location to a command window opened with admin rights. Very useful.
However, this my cmd prompt window and pathname which looks correct: [URL] but I still get this error [URL]
Would add that I am registering a program from Win98 here. However is worked perfectly in XP and so I thought it might also do so in Win 7.

Have a website (url) with a simple structure, starting with index.html.Whenever I update some files this works fine, but when I try to replace index.html still the old version is shown, even when I just renameit to index.htmlBAK.I suppose it's some sort of refreshing thing, but I can't seem to find an option in Firefox 11 nor in IE.

We have a new Windows 7 machine on which Ctrl + Alt + C doesn't register, at all. When trying to assign that keystroke within an application, MS Word for instance, and we click in the text box that "captures" the keystroke NOTHING happens in the text box. Its almost as if the operating system is intercepting that keystroke before it gets to the apps.

This is on one of my computers running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. It's only started happening recently (past 2 days), whenever I try to open Mozilla Firefox I get "Microsoft(C) Register Server has stopped working". The details show
that the event name is "BEX",
app name is "regsvr32.exe",
module name is "msvcr100.dll",
exception offset is "8a3f6",
exception code is c0000417.
I've tried turning off DEP for regsvr32.exe but still no change. Internet Explorer doesn't work either, when I try to open it nothing happens.

The Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network adapter works about 40% of the time. The other 60% it says there is a hardware issue and it cannot connect. I then generally fiddle around with the ethernet cable ie unplug it plug it back in move it around again and restart. This sometimes works and I have no problems. Then when I restart my computer its a whole game on whether I can get it working again or not.
I have the latest drivers, and it is not a firewall/security issue.
