Change Open Verb In Register?
Sep 20, 2012I ran into a machine with 764bit on it and when I install adobe reader the open verb is READ not OPEN. anyone know how to change the open verb in the register?

Nov 10, 2010problem with self-registration of my dll.The dll fails with an error - "The following files did not self-register or unregister ---- Access is Denied". I am the administrator of the machine.I have turned off the UAC. I have registry rights too.The dll has been developed by us and it is working fine in XP. The installation package has been build using InstallShield_7.01 on a Windows 7 machine.The software has been working fine on Windows XP without any issue for years now but on Windows 7 it is having problem with registration of the dll components.Is it an issue of some protected registry keys of windows 7 on which i might not have permission.If so how to access those registry. On manually registering the dll using the regsvr32, we are able to register the dll and the software works fine.I want to know how can i correct this error without manually using the regsvr32.

Aug 11, 2009I'm totally new to these forums but I wanted my pinned windows explorer shortcut on my taskbar to open Computer instead of Libraries.
So I've figured it out and wrote a application for it.
It will open anything you select from the list. (Thanks Brink for the list)
Program is attached.
It'd be nice to see some replies regarding this.
P.S App is written in C# for those who wonder...
W7ExplorerShortcut is the console application that only allows you to set it to open My Computer.
7Tweaker is the GUI application that gives you a list of options.
Cannot Change Default Program To Open FileType
Dec 27, 2011I upgraded to windows 7 through a clean install. I just reinstalled itunes but when it prompts me to change itunes to the default program to use for audio files, I click yes and nothing happens. It prompts me every time I open itunes. I went to control panel -> programs -> default programs -> set default programs and itunes wasn't there. I then went to ->associate a file type or protocol with a program but when I tried to change the default program for .mp3 the following happened:
- I double click .mp3
- I click browse
- Secondary Drive -> Itunes -> Itunes.exe
- I arrive at the screen that popped up after I double clicked .mp3 and itunes isn't on the list.
I tried going to a random .mp3 file and changing its default program but the same thing happened. I googled what to do and I looked for a software that would change the default program for filetypes and I used both. They didn't work. I tried the following:
a. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
b. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer
c. In the right side of the screen double click on "NoFileAssociate".
d. Change the value of "NoFileAssociate" from 1 to 0. If the value is not present, create a DWORD value and enter the valaue data as 0.
e. Exit Registry Editor and Restart the computer and check.
But I didn't seem to have the nofileassociate part in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionpoliciesExplorer

Nov 24, 2011I changed the 'open with' of my .001 file into shell32.dll (I went to system 32 and just typed it in). I did this by right clicking the file, went to properties, then at Open With, clicked Change, then browsed over to Windows32 for shell32.dll by typing it in the file box and clicked enter. Now I regret my actions and want to change it back to its default original (which was: Windows Shell Common DLL). Now the menus and stuff on the files' Properties is totally different. And what's more, the Open with change button and all is gone! How do I put it back to the way it was?

Does anyone know of a script (or is able to write one?) which will batch convert a folder (+ subfolders) full of shortcuts so that they all open the application they link to (in the case, Microsoft Flight Simulator) in a maximized, not 'normal' window?
I have over a thousand of these shortcuts and opening each one's properties window and changing 'normal' to 'maximized' is not really an option!
Not really a 'Windows 7' question specifically of course, but maybe someone here will know anyway?

May 7, 2011Ok, every time I turn on my laptop I get a message saying that the wireless configuration notification dll is not registered.
I have found what DLL it is exactly, it's wltrynt.dll. I have used many, MANY different codes to register it, but NONE work. Both in Run and CMD. I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. RegSvr helper won't even run at all, and as usual with Windows, it gives you a random error with no help whatsoever. -_-

Jul 21, 2011I am trying to install Skype on my computer. However, Skype program does not allow me to install Skype telling me that I do not have privilege and that I need to register as administrator. I am the only user of the computer and have register as admin. when it was set up.
How do I "register" again as admin.? I do not find that option on the computer.
