View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Win 7, I plug in a SanDisk Cruzer micro 2 gb flashdrive to the USB port but the drive is not detected. I can do the same from an XP machine and the flashdrive is not detected. If it was detected, I could go to computer management and select it, but since it is not detected, that is not an option. I have lots of data on this flashdrive and have used it extensively with both the XP and Win 7 machines but now it is not detected. Any thoughts on how to force detection? Unfortunately I suspect the USB connector has gone bad.

After doing a clean install but saving files in 'Windows.old' Wingdings 2 & Wingdings 3 fonts have disappeared. They aren't in the the fonts folder and I need them. PC started acting inappropriately during searches. Press Window Key, press W key to get Wordpad and it would show things like Calculator, VLC Player or Irfanview. Or press Window Key, press I for Internet Explorer and it shows Notepad, Paint or Word.

I have a hp multi function hooked up to a win7pc by usb connection, I also have a laserjet hooked up to my ethernet lan. I am trying to install a hp 3310 with a ethernet connection. The latest Windows 7 hp software gets almost to the end of the install routine until it asks how I want to connect it. I choose ethernet and it checks whatever, it shows my 3310 connections correctly and then tells me it cant connect. Windows 7 add a device cant find it. I can ping the unit ok, and I can connect to it through the ip address, and i can scan through the browser. If i go to win7s add a printer it installs a basic print driver and allows me to print as normal. All other xp pcs on the lan can print to it.I would dearly love to use the scanner on the 3310.
By the way the 3310 worked with all functions when it was connected via usb to a xp pc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, when I inserted my phone memory card in my laptop, Windows 7 asks me to format my NOKIA Micro SD card before I could use it. My problem is all my data such as contacts and msgs are all in the m. card and when I insert it back into my phone (Nokia N80) it hangs right away and stops responding as well. When eject the card, ny phone becomes fine. I know enough to understand that the card has some form of virus. Unfornately, I badly need the data in it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a 2GB Micro SD card in my Android phone that was getting loaded up with music and pictures/videos, so I picked up an 8GB card to replace it. I put the card into the adapter to fit regular SD card readers, which my laptop has and began copying the files from the 2 GB card to my hard drive. When I was done and I went to copy the data on to the new 8 GB card, it said it was copying 5.29 GB of data? The files that were on the 2 GB card were almost all music mp3's, with a few pics and videos thrown in, but they only made up a tiny part of that total. The only thing I could think of was if the files on the 2GB card were somehow zipped and became unzippped, but then wouldn't they have gotten much bigger than a little over double the original size?

I'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.
Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. Windows replaces with its own default codec.I have referenced this thread here, but offered solutions do not seem to work for me: Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install
i can't under stand how would i format it, i will try till 3 days , but always, i lost.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was given an case for an HP computer a while back. It seems only one or two years old. It has most of the original case parts within it, along with some wires. Now, a friend of mine has an smaller computer in a Mini-ITX case, and has been looking to upgrade both his power supply and his graphics card. However, most graphics cards don't seem small enough to fit within his case (height wise, at least. He has enough room in both length and width), and there's only a select number of Mini-ITX power supplies on Newegg (and the highest wattage is 400w). Logically, I figured he'd be able to take my extra case and fit everything else in there, but I was unsure if it would fit properly.
