Using Win 7, I plug in a SanDisk Cruzer micro 2 gb flashdrive to the USB port but the drive is not detected. I can do the same from an XP machine and the flashdrive is not detected. If it was detected, I could go to computer management and select it, but since it is not detected, that is not an option. I have lots of data on this flashdrive and have used it extensively with both the XP and Win 7 machines but now it is not detected. Any thoughts on how to force detection? Unfortunately I suspect the USB connector has gone bad.

I'm trying to format the above listed card through my Toshiba Sattilite 660-x running windows 7 w/ an sd adapter card slot from out of my Nokia E-5 cellphone. It keeps telling me in 6 attempts that windows cannot format it. Properties on the card show it as full, but it has never had more than 16gb put on it. As this card is not even 2 months old. Is there a site that can use to format this on freeware...etc?
I've got new computer with Windows 7 & for some reason or other cannot access two Sandisk flash drives (Cruzer Blades) yet no problems with other makes!
The other night I was putting something on my 8gb sandisk flash drive. My pc shut off randomly and I go to recopy the files onto my flash drive and the drive keeps saying the disk is write protected. I cant format the drive because it says the disk is write protected. I've tried going into regedit and making the write protect reg key. Didn't work. The flash drive does not have a little switch to make it protected.

I uninstalled Trend Micro Business Security from my 1 year old Dell Vostro (Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit) a few days ago and since then have had recurrent spontaneous shutdown most times with a BSOD Power Driver State Failure. In Device Manager, it showed a Virtual CD drive with a yellow exclamation point - I uninstalled the program that created the virtual drive but I still have spontaneous BSOD. I tried a System Restore but it failed to help the situation.I attached my zip files of jcgriff2 and my perfmon html file.
Dell Vostro V13 Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit OEM never re-installed hardware and OS are just over a year old
I recently bought an 8GB SanDisk Cruzer Switch USB Drive and when I put it in the computer, it was filled with a load of junk. This is a CMD directory listing to give you an idea[CODE]
i am trying to use a sandisk card for readyboost. But it only showed up once when downloading something like a update device driver or whatever. But it is not showing up.
I have a 8GB Sandisk SD that I have used successfully for all sorts of things. Now I'm trying to prep it for an Install device for Windows 7 or 8 or whatever, and for some reason the Windows 7 Utility cannot write to it. I checked the physical lock, reformatted it to Fat 32 and retried, with same result. I'm guessing there is something on there that I cannot see that is trouble. within the tool menu I can access the device, find the .iso, run it, but it fails saying "cannot write to this device".
my computer just started asking me to 'format my drive' when i put plugin my sandisk holding my memory card from my phone. i used to be able to plug it into my computer and download my pictures easily now i have this problem.
I'm Trying to make a Bootable flash drive for Windows 7 64 bit. I know the link to download it but I copy the files to the Thumb drive now I get bootmrg I don't think I got all of the images downloaded right.
I had a 2GB Micro SD card in my Android phone that was getting loaded up with music and pictures/videos, so I picked up an 8GB card to replace it. I put the card into the adapter to fit regular SD card readers, which my laptop has and began copying the files from the 2 GB card to my hard drive. When I was done and I went to copy the data on to the new 8 GB card, it said it was copying 5.29 GB of data? The files that were on the 2 GB card were almost all music mp3's, with a few pics and videos thrown in, but they only made up a tiny part of that total. The only thing I could think of was if the files on the 2GB card were somehow zipped and became unzippped, but then wouldn't they have gotten much bigger than a little over double the original size?
