May 5, 2011Im not sure why my orginal thread got deleted, but it probably had something to do with the lines. That I only wanted a good answer and good people.Im having a problem here it is ive reinstalled Windows 7, I have my old program files directory with my games. They are cracked, because im too lazy to use the dvd's and change them all the time. So I know they dont have to be installed the long way because theyve worked when Ive reinstalled before.But I cant remember what things I had to put on to make the majority of them work.NFS hot pursuit, GTA4, Cyrsis, Deadspace, all them.Ive put on Direct X 11, Runtimes from Direct 9 and most distros.Though Ive tried to put on Visual C++ runtimes, i tried removing them after I put everyone I could find on, and now they are a bit broken up where I cant uninstall them from the program add remove menu off control panel.
If I am running Windows 64, do I need to install the x86 packs. Because I have been, and did so last and previous working install of windows both packs. ? This is worth a lot to me even know that.Since I just put on the OS, Im sure it cant be as silly as reinstalling it again.I used IOBIT uninstaller, to rid the other visual basic runtimes, but they are left on the program add/remove still.
Cannot Install Games Into Program Files (x86)
Aug 19, 2012I am attempting to install the Pokemon trading card game onto my computer. The installer does lead me to another place to download it, but they say for it to work it must be downloaded into program files (x86). So I attempted to download it there, but it says that I do not have permission to do so. I am the only administrator, so I do not know why this could be happening.

Aug 25, 2010I have a win 7 ultimate x64 box. I used to run XP. I loaded fresh on new drives, and installed the OS, some office and utils on drive C: as normal. I have 2 more drives, D: and E:, that I have installed about a terabyte of games/simulators on. I have installed these on both drives under program files folder. During install and setup of the OS, I turned off UAC because it was taking way to long to answer all the prompts to make sure this is what I wanted to do. So after done installing everything a week later, I flip UAC back on. Now I can't run anything without UAC kicking in and it does mess up some of my programs.
Should I just turn UAC off and leave it or do a reinstall, and put all my games on drive D and E in a folder called Games or something like that to prevent UAC from wearing me out. Other possibilities I was thinking of is renaming D: program files to d: games and do the same on drive E:, then find eplace anything in the registry from D: program files to D: games, do the same for E:. Would that work or would I wind up hosing my install?

It is Call of Duty Black Ops (no, I'm not 12, my nephew is )I changed install path to D:Games (have user folders relocated there, thats about it, no programs ever installed on d data partition.Installation froze and locked up first time. Had to power off to get out.Second time was logged off my admin account by nephew while installing, though the install ran for a long time - should have completed anyways, after installing, it's not showing anywhere: checked box for install desktop shortcut - not there, not showing up under win start> all programs or games.Tried to launch directly from install path folder... blackops.exe ERROR says: "Blinkw32.dll missing...
1) I never installed steam or anything, could that be the problem?(I'm on different pc now, game pc doesn't have internet right now
2) Can't uninstall! Not showing up as installed program. Uninstaller in game directory won't work.There are 2 uninstall.dll ( 1 for each failed install I guess)

Nov 5, 2009ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.

Games Not Showing In Games Window?
Dec 16, 2011When I click on games in my start menu only the games on my c drive show. I ran out of space on the c drive practically the day I bought it (SSD), so now I install games to my D drive. I tried dragging the .exe start file over to the games window and it did copy the icon over but I get a message that the game has stopped working when I click it, followed by automatic error reporting to Microsoft after.

Dec 15, 2012I have 2 computers on the same network (connected to the same router). Now the problem is when one PC hosts a game, the other PC can't see it (and vice a versa). I have tried this with several games (both PCs using each game with same version) and still both PCs can't see each other.
On the other hand, under My Computer-Network, both PCs can see each other and access any shared files between the 2.
PS: Both PCs are running Windows 7 Ultimate x86

Jun 18, 2012I have a very new system in terms of hardware (6950 graphics, Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, etc), yet I get consistent stuttering in games. By stutter, I mean a 3-5 second freeze, that happens every few minutes. These only started up about 2 months ago (have had the computer for about 8 months).
The odd thing though, is that when I leave the computer on for a long time, and have run a number of programs/games already, the stuttering disappears. It only really shows up after I freshly restart the computer. When I put the computer to sleep (even for many many hours) instead of shutting it down, I don't have the stuttering when I bring it back awake, like I would if I had shut it down/ started it up.
