I run a triple screen setup and recently replaced a 1080x720 monitor with a 1080p one (the other monitors are 1080p and 1680x1050). Then I started being plagued by "Windows Aero has exceeded its maximum memory allocated" and "Is your system performing slowly?" messages, with Windows turning off Aero every now and then.I have plenty of memory (8GB, soon to be 16GB) and at idle I only use ~30% of it (when Aero is enabled it sits around 35%), so a lack of memory isnt the issue, just that it seems Aero is using more than is allocated. So I was wondering if there is a way to increase the amount allocated. I have researched a bit on this subject but what I have found so far is a flat out no, Microsoft saying update Windows and graphics card drivers (all is up to date) and some indirect fixes that so far haven't helped.
I have windows 7 64 bit and also running a ssd. Just a few days ago I've started to have an issue where after my computer is running for a couple hours all processes continually increase the amount of memory they are using until I get an out of memory error. Here is a pic of it around 75%. I have 8 gigs of ram (kingston) that before this never went above 4gigs of use, so not sure what is causing this suddenly.
For my graphics card, it says it is an Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family. I know it has 64 MB dedicated to it and I'm not sure if I can increase that or if I have to buy a graphics card.
I recently opened a minecraft server, not knowing that online my minecraft would run slower. I'm not 100% sure if its because i only have MB of dedicated video memory, but i'm pretty sure it isIs there anyways i could increase this or get other options on how to help my computer run minecraft
For the last few weeks I have been getting BSOD: IRQL not less or equal, and system service exception. I first updated all drivers/windows ect, and ran recommended repair utilities. After this had no effect, I had been directed by another source to test the RAM, and so ran memtest, finding no errors. I have also swapped out different combinations of my 4 Dimms of RAM to try and isolate the problem. While I have been swapping out my RAM sticks, I happened to notice that my physical memory usage would slowly and steadily rise until ~ 95-99% at which point the BSOD would occur. Since noticing the RAM usage continually rising seemed to cause the crash, I have found that rebooting when the memory usage gets too high will baseline the RAM usage and can prevent the BSOD. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? The only programs I'm using are world of warcraft, chrome, and occasionally skype or MS office. BSOD have occured with some or even none of these applications open(But always with memory usage @ ~ 90% or higher). Closing every program when the memory gets high doesn't cause the memory usage to ever stop rising(though it will temporarily drop the usage). So in a nutshell:My memory usage goes from ~20% on fresh boot, gradually increasing until ~95-98% and I Crash. I've scanned the processes>show processes from all users and nothing stands out that seems to be using too much memory.
Recently in the past few days windows aero decides to turn off. I can re-enable it with the personalization but it seems like a hassle to do all the time. The computer also says that it "exceeded it's allowable memory" or something along those lines. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it? Also, on a related note, how can I make it so my programs can use more of my available RAM?
I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.
how to convert a shared video memory into dedicated video memory and system video memory? me and my friend have the same specs computers but the same game runs slow in my computer but it runs smoothly in his computer?
i am having a problem with my memory getting tied up / used up and not being able to access it again until i reboot.
machine: dell xps studio 8100 os: win 7, processor: i7 2.8 ram: 16gb (max it will take) video: ati radeon 5700 (running 3 monitors)
versions: as far as i know i am running current versions of everything, including video drivers, flash, chrome, etc. (i've tried running chrome with both the build in version of flash and the system version -haven't seen a difference)
browser: i nearly exclusively run chrome / canary with auto-updates so am at the latest builds.what seems to cause me to use up / run out of memory is after i play videos (Internet, netflix, etc.), the memory seems to get used, but is not returned to the system, even if the browser is closed and re-opened.right now for example things are working fine; i rebooted my system a couple hours ago (but have not played any videos). i have adobe lightroom running, picasa, chrome and canary (currently 4 web browser windows open with 52 tabs open). task manager currently shows me using 8.20gb of ram, that seems pretty reasonable to me.
normally my system will keep running properly (if a program is closed, memory is freed up) right up until i start to play any videos (Internet, netflix, etc.) then it will start using up more memory. (of course i expect it to use more memory during playback) however, even if i restart the browser, the memory does not get freed back up. for example, just prior to the reboot, with everything closed, i was using right around 8gb of ram. once i rebooted, i was using 1.something gb of ram prior to opening any programs.however, once i start playing some videos, i never seem to be able to get my ram freed back up again unless i reboot the whole system. this is not just a problem with how much memory the system shows as being available, i frequently actually run out of memory. (task manager will show me as using around 15gb and then everything starts swapping out like crazy).
I find that if I run chkdsk and watch the memory usage in task manager it jumps by about 50MB every 2 seconds or so until it either finishes or hits around 3.2GB at which point my physical memory shows 99% used (I'm running 4GB), and the system of course slows to a crawl.f you just run a quick chkdsk on your boot drive you may not notice it, but try running something longer like chkdsk /r on a flash drive or chkdsk /f on a bigger internal drive (but not your OS drive as this would require a reboot) and watch the memory usage climb. I have duplicated this on both systems I have running Windows 7. My XP machine (checking the same USB flash drive) uses a much more normal amount of memory for chkdsk (20 - 30 MB).
Memory Usage Goes Up Gradually (Memory Leak)When I starting the Windows (in the first few hours) everything is normal But after 1 day or 2 (sooner or later) the amount of available memory gradually goes down and the physical memory usage increasing. This increasing, continues until the memory usage reaches near the 88% and at that point , there isn't any memory available to operate any software . Also when memory reaches that point, I can't access any drive in the HDD; because everytime I want to open any folder, the following error appears :c: is not accessible.Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service At this point, I even can't shutdown or restart Windows normally; I must restart windows manually by pressing the restart button.after restart, everything goes to normal again; but this problem appears again and again ...

I just built a new computer and started with 8GB of memory. A few weeks down the line I purchased another set of the same memory because it was on such a good deal and had great reviews (newegg). It also was working well for me, so I figured maybe more could be better.
I haven't noticed any decrease/increase in system performance except Alt-Tabbing has recently got slower. Also, Windows 7 was sitting tight on 1.3gb to 2gb of memory usage prior to the extra 8 (now 16) being added. Even when gaming, it went up to like 3gb. Now that I've added the extra it's going up to 4.5gb or better. Also, is it possible to speed up my alt-tabbing? It seems to have a good 3-4 second pause in it instead of being immediate like it was.
Computer specs: Windows 7 HP 64-bit gSkill 16gb 1866 memory (BIOS shows it at 1866, too) Intel i5-2500k Sandy Bridge (OC'd 4.6 with factory Overclock presets) ASRock z68 Extreme4 mobo
I'm using window 7, my system is running slow. I've did all those which I know to increase the performance of system but that was not effective. So I want to know; is there any tool to increase my pc performance?
my g5 laser mouse on windows 7 causes a massive cpu spike. as a side note, when i click and drag, it can cause full usage of cpu.also, although i can play videos, after some time, my computer can only hear sound from Internet videos, and not see visuals.i recently installed from windows 32 bit vista, where i did not have this issue. i installed all recent updates, and used system file checker to verify the system files.
I wanna set optimal setting for my VGA with catalyst control center version 8.861.My VGA is Asus EAH5670 and this is my computer's configuration Operating system: Windows 7 ultimate 32bit.
I know there is probably a simple answer out there, however RAM is cheap right now and I though I would go ahead and future proof my system or whatever. My WEI with 4 GB RAM was 6.6 and after upgrading to 8 GB of Crucial RAM it was 6.6. I knew the difference from 4 to 8 would be negligible but I thought I would see a better score. The system does see 8 GB RAM by the way.
I have an issue with my mouse, when I move it, it causes a CPU spike, in resource monitor, it calls the spike "system interrupt". I recently installed windows 7 and it has been this way since the beginning. Interestingly, when I click and drag, it becomes around 100% cpu usage. My idle cpu is 1-3%.
What can I do to increase my WEI?My laptop is the Gateway MX8734, I have 1.5GB Ram currently installed, 2.0 is the max. That's all I can see in there. What else can be done?
My computer performance is low. Do you know how to increase your computer performance? I think my computer performance is very low. The song or voice and action are not perfect when I watch movies.
my home pc installed win mail but i dont no what is capacity of mail store e.g. like 20gb or more then can u tell me and how to increze the capacity of storage i have window 7 32bit ultimet
i've had this new gtx 560 (previously had gt 240) I have seen a small fps increase in games such as Call of Duty Mw3, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Team Fortress 2. However smaller games such as Payday the Heist, CSS and Magicka have increased a lot. What im asking is if I upgrade to a decent intel i3 or i5, will I see a big fps different. Also to mention in BF3, no matter how low the graphics are the resolution, i still remain with the same fps. I can play on high settings and low settings and see no fps difference. [code] I feel the fps i get at the moment is extremely low for a gtx 560 and i was worried that my q8300 was bottlenecking but when i upgraded I was not expecting to see such as huge bottleneck and low fps in games.
Well, Windows 7 starter came pre-installed. One fine day, I was trying Linux and accidentally deleted my Windows. Hidden partition was also deleted. So I downloaded Windows from Microsoft site and deleted the ef.cgi file so as to get all the Windows install option when I start thr install from USB. Everything is fine but the screen resolution is wrong.
My screen resolution is 1024X600 but in the Windows setting it is 800X600. I can't increase it. It's just set to 800X600.
Also drivers are not installed. I have to install them.
