View 2 RepliesOnce in a while I go to web pages that have password sections for which IE won't ask if I want to save the information. I have checked to make sure that it is set to ask for passwords. It doesn't seem to recognize that I am adding passwords into a field.I consistently have this problem with my bank and on the login for my job. Is this some problem with the way the web page is written

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my Windows 7-64 since it came out. Something new just started in Win Explorer. That is, the column on the far right is expanded almost all the way across to the left, covering up the file names, size, etc. I can move it back to the right, but it is there each time I open WinExpl. There is something in that column, it says: Select a file to preview. Also, I have my view set to "Details".

I am experiencing issues with explorer.exe (I found many reports on the web on this), not showing drives or control panel icons, or stop responding (win 7 32 bit Ult.) I set to open a separate process to explore windows and I got the chance to look for a better file manager and got Directory Opus and set it as the default file manager. (I use a Dell Precision notebook with certified hardware).
The explorer is still used for some windows, mainly control panel and device and printers. If the process stands there for a while, at some time, it will start to create issues. With a new 2nd explorer.exe is quite sure it will work. Checking the task manager I see that the 2nd explorer.exe waits for about 45 s to exit after the last windows close. The overall impact is quite reduced as I do not use explorer to browse files, but I would know if there is a place where I could set a shorter delay to close explorer.exe after the latest window closes.
Where in the world is IE hiding? It doesn't show up under "Programs." When I search for it, up come sub-titles.I allowed Windows Updates to install IE 9 just a couple days ago. Is this the problem?

So I've figured it out and wrote a application for it.

It'd be nice to see some replies regarding this.
P.S App is written in C# for those who wonder...
W7ExplorerShortcut is the console application that only allows you to set it to open My Computer.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever a PDF document is selected in Windows Explorer, the document is being Previewed, I am unable to make specific changes to that document when I open it in either Acrobat Pro or Foxit.
The specific changes include: note annotations, adding lines, objects, text boxes, call out boxes, images.
For some reason, highlighting doesn't produce the same error (weird?) Preview seems to be stealing the permissions to save a file because i guess it is accessing the file too.
The error is: Quote: The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or opened by another user, save the document with a different name or in a
different folder The solution is to de-select the document from Explorer and then save the file. However, this is extremely irritating. I select the document in Explorer before I open it, so of course the file is still selected! In order to get around this, I have to manually de-select any file that I want to save, OR turn off Preview.
Any workaround for this so that Preview doesn't take over when I want to make changes to a file?
I normally use Mozilla Firefox but an upgrade programme I recently downloaded needs IE to install. IE couldn't display the webpage so I downloaded and installed IE9 On running there was a script error. Line 1, Char 1, Error 'Components is undefined', Code 0 and URL chrome://simppulltoolbar/content/lib/external.js. I selected Yes to continue running scripts. Then came this error. IE cannot display the webpage. I selected Diagnose Connection Problems but Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem.

Got a problem with IE. I get a window saying that IE has a problem and gives an option to let the internet find a solution. This does not seem to help any. I can get out of it and keep going , but the same window will keep reappearing.
