I am running version 8.16.11.8766 and it keeps crashing every so often when I play Minecraft. I want to update it but Windows says that is the newest update (its from 2009). Where can I find the 64bit drivers?
I need the nvidia 186.81 drivers for my 8400M GT. I have a Sony VAIO however, and the drivers on Nvidia's website do not support it. I have tried calling Sony however they do not have the drivers either. Does anybody know how I could get the drivers I need?
A couple days ago, I installed Windows 7 (through MSDNAA).
I have a problem with some devices. The situation can be seen here:
I tried updating driver software through windows and it said it was unable to find drivers
I have no idea what the "Unknown Device" may be. The "Multimedia Video controller" I'm guessing is my Nvidia graphics card? The Mass Storage Device I think is my Magicgate memory card slot, but I'm not sure.
I have an Nvidia 8400M GT graphics card and judging by what I've seen on the resolution window (and device manager), I'm currently running on my standard VGA graphics device, and not my Nvidia.
I manually searched for the drivers for my graphics card off the Nvidia site, but every time I try to install it, I get this messege
]I've already tried reformatting and reinstalling windows 7, now I'm running out of ideas. Can anybody please help?
I'm using a Sony Vaio TP3 computer. It's a "desktop" with laptop components and was initially running on Vista.
I've been search in the internet for a while to find the NVIDIA [GeForce 8400M GT GPU] Driver. I tried the file that provided by the LaptopVideo2go.com, but it still not work.

my notebook is Sony vaio sz7 and I used to work with a dual monitor. But after the installation of windows seven I can`t connect my NEC monitor. i think its because of the video driver. my video adapter is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS but i can`t find a driver for 8M series for seven.

I'm currently having problems with my graphic card driver and the aero effects in windows 7. It wont allow me to install the driver or use the aero effects and that is a bummer for me. I really wanted to try it out.
This is for Torrentg. Can you please create a custom Inf file for me. I tried everything incl downloading the latest Nvidia driver and mMobilityModder to no avail. I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit on a sony Vaio laptop with Nvidia geforce 8400M GS and below is the info you need on my video card:
since i upgraded my sony vaio from Vista to windows 7 I have problems .When I start some programs I get the message "your device for mass storage is not installed My machine can not find any drivers on the HDD or internet.I need the driver for Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS.The driver from the Nvidia site is not accepted by my sony vaio laptop.VGN-NR31-Z/S
I have a Vaio VGN-SZ71 and have loaded Win 7 Pro onto it. It keeps going blue sccreen saying that my graphics driver is not working and when I try and dowload fron Nvidia site, it says that I must go back to my cxomp supplier / manufacturer, SONY.
i have a MSI notebook with Nvidia Geforce 8400M G.
i recently installed windows 7 professional (final version, not RC or beta), and discovered a serious problem: it doesn't recognize my Graphic card. instead it claims i have a "Standard VGA graphic adapter" (in dxdiag, device manager etc.). because of that i cant download any Nvidia drivers, cause the setup always says "Nvidia couldn't find a driver compatible with your hardware". that's, again, because windows 7 doesn't recognize my card.
i tried also uninstalling the VGA adapter from device manager, but after restarting it just installing it again.
is there anything i can do? should i wait for windows updates to come and fix my problem? i really don't want to install windows again. is my card not supported, is my Computer not supported?
I am using a Sony vaio laptop VGN-SZ75GN. I recently upgraded my windows vista business 32-bit to a windows 7 ulitmate 64-bit using a clean installation.
I have a external graphic card which is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS notebook graphics processing unit(GPU) (SPEED MODE) / Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (STAMINA MODE). After installing Windows 7, it couldn't detect the graphic card. This was done by looking at the device manager saying that it only detected a standard VGA Graphic Adapter. I tried to check for updates, but it said that the standard VGA Graphic Adapter was the best driver software. I looked around the forum like a headless chicken and couldn't find a solution for my laptop.

[Code].....
Red entries are my edits. As you can see in nvmt.ini I've copied the Section numbers from the previous entries, as in: %NVIDIA_DEV.0426.9005.104D% = Section006, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9005104D
I've had some limited success...
My system now sees the GPU as an Nvidia 8400M. So far so good. However I'm still getting error messages. Firstly, on reboot, the system stops the card because of driver problems. Secondly, if I run the Nvidia software, it says the monitor is not connected to an Nvidia card. Lastly, if I update the driver, it reverts to Standard VGA in the Device Driver list.
So, It looks as if I need to do more. My immediate thoughts are:
1) Should I be editing the nvmt.inf file, or perhaps another one - nvmm.ini or nvlt.in? How do I know which nv??.inf to edit?
2) In the nv??.inf file, I have no idea which 'section' to point at. I tried 11 and 12 as seen in another thread, but got the same issues. So I tried the same section entries as the next most similar card, but to no avail.
I got motherboard: Asus m2n-mx se plus. Video Card : nVIDIA nForce 6150SE (6100-430), Onboard Audio : nVIDIA MCP61 , D-Link DFE-520TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter .
My Motherboard comes with Vista drivers, but I heard that even that are creating problems for video and audio. Should I download any specific drivers beforehand?
I recently updated my windows vista to windows 7. But for some strange reason windows 7 wont recognise my graphic card. The graphic card I have is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT,, and I have tried to install the drivers from NVIDIA website but it wont let me install.. it says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue" and at the bottom is says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". When I go on Windows Experience Index.. everything seems to be fine except graphics and gaming graphics:
I installed windows 7, but cant do any gaming on it as it only has the default driver for the GTX280 which is absolutely atrocious. Are there any Alpha or Beta Drivers released for Windows 7 so that people can really run it through the mill for gaming?
I have been trying to find Windows 7 drivers for my 8800GT but haven't found anything yet. Are the Vista ones compatible or do I need Windows 7 specific? If so, do they exist?
cannot installed nvidia drivers, it says Installer failed and doesn't say anything else! what a crap error messages nvidia gives...I tried to ran in failsafe mode but doesnt lso tried drivercleaner and driver sweeper after reinstall the drivers but nothing.
Recently I made fresh install of Windows 7 home premium x64. Everything was fine except Nvidia drivers. It starts installing, then it loads like quarter and stays like that about 10 minutes. Then installer says that no modifications made and try again later. I have tried 190.62 and 191.07. Anyone know whats the problem and how to fix it?
I'm trying to install updated chipset drivers. I downloaded nForce 680i SLI from the nvidia website. When I run install, it asks me to select what I want to install and gives only 2 choices: nvidia ethernet driver, and nvidia storage driver. Those aren't the chipset drivers, are they?
