Yesterday i received my new gigabyte k8100 Aivia keyboard. The key board its self is working how ever when i go into the ghost program so i can turn the back-lights on and add some macros it, a warning message comes up: " Warning: Cant find the Device!". I just can't figure out what to do. COMPUTER: Windows 7 32 bit Toshiba laptop.
View 2 Repliesmy usb keyboard works fine on my freind pc win7ultimate32bit, i have same os service pack 1 also installed, my usb is amkette company---better than local, Problemis that it was working grt for 5 months, but for past 3 weeks it is detected as a unknown device, it is detected sometimes as hid device and works well for 3-4 hoursbut then suddenly goes off and a popup with malfunction and unknown device appers all time, then it will never that day maybe 10 min sometime. i plug out all power cables,uninstall usb controllers tried everything on internet, some techniques work but no permanent solution. i even reinstalled windows last week no luck.It works on my freind pc., diff in my freind pc is he has intel motherboard and i have biostar a785ge everything up to date,only solution that is left is to use a ps/2 to usb convertor(i have to wait for 3 weeks).
View 8 Replies View RelatedToday, while I was deleting a file on my computer using the Shift + Del command, my computer let out one long beep, and the display (and the keyboard, and the mouse) froze. I tried to reboot, and I noticed that all 3 of the keyboard's LEDs (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock) are open, but my screen displayed a "No keyboard Detected, press F1 to continue" error. This error is somewhat ironic because I can't really "press F1 to continue" since, you know, my keyboard keys aren't working, but it's making me wonder what happened because even though the keyboard keys aren't working, all the keyboards LED lights are open.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my P55 LE for about a month and a half now, but I just bought a 120GB OCZ Agility SSD that I want to migrate my Windows 7 install to from my 300GB HDD. I created a backup image using Norton Ghost 15.0 on a third backup drive, and restored the image to the SSD. Alas when I went to boot, I got the BOOTMGR NOT FOUND error, so I tried to reboot with the Windows 7 install DVD in the drive to fix the problem.
The DVD drive is my #1 boot priority drive, and it started right up, detected an OS error, and decided to reboot to begin the fix. Although this time, it prompted me for a "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD..." and my keystrokes were not detected. I tried several times and I could not boot from the DVD! I had issues seeing my USB mouse/keyboard when booting from Acronis TrueImage 2010 Home Trial (but weirdly, THAT had no issue with the "Press any key..." prompt).
Any suggestions? I would love to fix my Windows 7 clone and get up and running on the beautiful SSD.
After adding my graphics card, and switching to it from intergrated my usb tablet and keyboard seem to be not detected anymore.All the drivers are installed, and they run fine on my laptop.

Mouse but mainly keyboard (both Microsoft) are not detected during the cold boot from time to time, i suspect the BIOS is the one to blame i have the latest version, what can i do?Both are USB.When i turn on the PC from time to time a long beep takes place and a message during posting (no keyboard detected). Sometimes happens sometimes not. PS/2 ports didn't work for me, when im using them NOTHING gets recognized (and yes i turned off the PC before plugging them).

E.g. may be using windows live mail and then click over to IE and then click on task-bar to bring up on screen keyboard and it will come up ok but also re-maximize or bring to top windows live mail.

The program was an irritation since it overrode screen brightness settings (actually making the screen brighter than I wanted it) and could not be customised so I uninstalled it. I would like to reasign the button to opening a program called GameBooster which I can use to close down many programs at once and restart them all again at a suitable time. The problem is that I don't know a) how to find out the scan code of this peculiar key (I think it might actually simulate two or more regular keys being pressed at the same time) nor b) how to make this trigger the execution of the GameBooster program (preferably without running an additional application). Surely Windows 7 has the capacity do this built in?

View 3 Replies View Related1- I have 16GB of ram in my system, the pagefile is set to automatic at 16gb, is that overkill ?? Should i bring it down to 6-8 ?? I have a SSD drive that i install everything on it so the only reason i want to do that is to save some space.I know i can change the location of the pagefile but if ever windows need's it, it would be faster on the SSD ..
2- Can i Ghost my SSD as a backup ??? I am looking at threads that tells people not to ghost ssd drives for some reason i can't understand.
I just completed a HTPC build consiting of a small ITX form factor case and ASUS CPU/Mobo ITX combo. All I have plugged in is a USB keyboard, mouse, and ethernet (well then of course the HDMI cable to my TV).I have the power settings set so when I push the power button the PC goes to SLEEP. Problem is in the morning I usually wake up to the thing turned back on.No other power saving features have been customized other than the "choose what the power button does" and the rest is set to the Windows default "Balanced" power features.When I push the power button it's usually to go to bed so the mouse and keyboard are undisturbed during the night.I've scoured the settings and I cannot find anything that may cause the machine to wake up unannounced.

I have multiple test PCs within the company I work for and we are soon to be creating Windows 7 test images.I currently use a Bart PE disk I built with a copy of Ghost 8 and would like to stick with this method as there are over 40 PCs all of which have multiple images, therefore would be too much work to recreate the images for a different program. I can take a successful image ( disk to image ) but upon restoring the image I get a inaccessible boot device.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had some kind of problem with my Ghost 15 installation. I kept giving me this message that it couldn't communicate with my computer? Probably had something to do with getting a new external hard drive for my backlups.
I finally decided to just reinstall it, to reset everything. It told me that I had to uninstall it first. I did that and it still kept telling my I had to uninstall.
I ran Revo Uninstaller. It still kept telling me I had to uninstall it before I could reinstall it.
I finally found the Norton Removal Tool and after running that it would let my reinstall.
When I started it, it said I didn't have permission to run it, even when I logged in as Administrator. I found the instructions that said I had to uninstall it again, run the reset permissions tool, and then reinstall it again.
I think I did that, (it's weird takes me to a page with no active buttons and I have to click at the top of the screen giving permission to install something, then nothing) now it still tells me that I don't have permission to configure Ghost when I start it.
I'm about ready to give up and switch to another program, I've run Ghost for years, but this is crazy. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have the UAC turned off, I don't know what else I can do.
My computer's DVD disk was broken and now i want to ghost my computer but it require hire boot CD. So anyone know how to ghost without DVD disk?

This in part as I lost my last Computer during an electrical storm about thirty miles away. I just want to back up about once a week.I also bought Norton Ghost. Norton Ghost seeming to be working ok. Question: why do I need it? Apparently with Windows 7 I can just transfer Data to the external disc. I have to ask this question as the instructions coming with Norton Ghost don't seem to have been written by a human being. I should like to uninstall Norton Ghost , reformat the external and start again. Is this OK?

I've tried the traditional ways of deleting it, dragging it to the the recycling bin, renaming it, copying and pasting it somewhere else and then trying, using software programs called "Unlcocker" and "CCleaner", and even going into the CMD prompt of my computer attempting to remove it from there; side note...(I'm not the best at using CMD commands and navigating through there, so maybe I've missed something). Ive also tried to run chkdisk command to see if it was some sort of registry error and I've also tried safe boot mode to see if I could simply delete it that way. The problem with this file is that my computer cant seem to find it on my hard-drive, its like the file doesn't exists, its just a icon in my pictures document.
