Gigabyte Ga-p55a-ud3 Blue Screen Windows 7
Mar 12, 2011
I just installed a new mobo, cpu, and ram. After I finished installing all the peripherals I booted up my system. Everything is going great until i get to the windows 7 loading screen. As soon as the window's logo appears it BSODs and restarts. I have windows 7 x64. I used another HD with Vista x32 and it worked perfectly. Another potential problem is my USB mouse isn't functioning but i suppose that is because I don't have the drivers or something similar to that.
mobo - gigabyte GA-P55-UD3 Rev. 2.0
cpu - Intel i7-870
RAM - Kingston hyperx ddr3 1600 2 x 4gb

Been troubleshooting a desktop we built for video editing at the office for a while, running out of ideas so I thought I'd post here to bounce some thoughts around. The issues is the desktop will randomly BSOD or just black screen with no response, at random times doing random tasks. It is running Windows 7 64bit.
The hardware is a Gigabyte p67-UD3-B3 motherboard with an Intel i7 and 8GB (dual channel,2x2GB) Corsair DDR3 memory(TW34G1333C9A).I believe this to be a memory issue, as I have tested and reinstalled my drivers already. Also,I do not experience the issues when I remove one channel of 4GB of memory. It does not matter which channel,or which sticks are removed.I have used MemTest and received no memory errors. I think the issue is possibly being cause by memory compatibility or memory bios settings.
The memory uses XMP to auto set all the settings in the bios. It appears that the settings are as they should be. Frequency at 1333, volatage 1.5v.Corsair's website lists this ram as compatible with this motherboard. Gigabytes website does not list this memory on their compatibility list, but the 1600 version is.Any input on what I can change in the bios to continue troubleshooting? As I said, when I am running 4GB of ram everything appears to be functioning properly, but when I add another channel of 4GB I start seeing the errors.

I have a problem with my second ram slot, does anyone know how to properly adjust the voltage to my ram slots through the BIOS of a Gigabyte P55A-UD3P Motherboard.
Also if anyone can tell me the desired voltage for each RAM slot.

I share my computer with my father in order to pay off a debt I owe to him, and when I arrived home in the afternoon I was greeted by him, informing me that my computer wouldn't turn on. Generally this would simply be a random issue, or perhaps he turned off the computer and thought it was in sleep (though he's smart enough to tell the difference.). This time, however, was different.I turned the computer on, and to my horror the splash screen shows and then the computer hangs. The only responsive key is Tab, which then shows me the detailed POST description. It tests my memory and shows my processor, etc as well as my drives, but after that it freezes at 'Looking for IDE drives...'. At that point, the only responsive (often it isn't responsive either) key is Delete, and that simply shows a 'prepare to enter Setup' message, and proceeds to do nothing else.I have already tried draining my capacitors (turning my PSU off and holding down the power button), removing and replacing my CMOS battery, continually restarting it, pressing multiple buttons, removing and then putting back my GPU (had to in order to expose my battery) as well as disconnecting and then reconnecting my two drives. I've considered reseating my RAM, but in my past experience doing so has done nothing for previous, similar problems. Both of us have done absolutely nothing that could have damaged the BIOS.
-Specifications-
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 260 Core 216
CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850
RAM: 4GB DDR2 PC8500 Corsair Dominator
Motherboard: GA-EP45-UD3P
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!

Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

I was playing a video game earlier today and received a blue screen. When the computer restarted it got stuck on the windows splash screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of to try to fix the computer. I changed out graphic card, ram, power supply for different ones but no luck. Also tried booting to last known working setup. Even restored factory image and still no luck. The computer will not boot to any form of safe mode. I also have ran start up repair numerous times but comes up empty handed.

i bought this PC 2 years ago, i experienced a bluescreen now and then but at this time i didnt really care to look into it, as i didnt know much about PC`s Anyways, since about 2 months i bluescreen almost every second day.99% of the time i bluescreen while playing a game. (Such as TF2).I can tell when i am about to bluescreen, the sound starts to "crackle", with every third crackle i experience a little bit of a short lag (i would even say, its like a really short freezing but only just a milisecond). I ran Memtest and Checkdisk, Harddrive and Memory seem to be fine.My PC is free from malware.I started to read the minidumps out:They always show 2 or 3 different drivers causing the lag.One of them is ALWAYS ntkrnlpa.exe. The other drivers usually differ. Some driver that often shows up too is halmacpi.dll.

Out of the blue this morning my comp wont start up, W7 blue screens before the login screen appears and instantly reboots. No new hardware has been added. Here is what I have tried.
Change graphics card.
Change RAM.
Memory diagnostic.
System repair.
Safe mode (works).
LKGC.
Uninstall AVS video converter (only new software installed yesterday).
Uninstall Daemon Tools.
System repair from Windows DVD (fails - incompatible version).
All I'm left with is a format and reinstall if I cant solve this - safe mode works fine so it must be fixable!
System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 SP1
AMD FX 4100
8GB HyperX RAM
HD 6770 Graphics
OZC SSD 120GB
ASUS M5A87 board

I just purchased a new motherboard, processor, RAM, and power supply for my Desktop. I have been trying to boot the computer using my hard drive from my old setup which had Windows 7 on it. Whenever the computer boots it goes from the bios screen to the Windows Boot page with the logo but then it goes straight to a Blue Screen. When the Blue Screen comes up it only flashes for a tenth of a second and then restarts so I can not read it. The same thing happens when I try to boot the computer in safe mode.

I have an ACER ASPIRE 5739G running Windows 7 64-bit.No changes were made on the laptop over the past 2 months, suddenly I started to encounter the "blue screen of death" once every few days, randomly when browsing the internet (no other software was running). It started to do this more frequently, within 1 hour of EVERY startup, I then performed a system restore and now the blue screen appears within 30 seconds of every startup, as well as Safe Mode. The blue screen appears for 15 seconds, the laptop then restarts.I have attached an image of the blue screen below:I know the most obvious solution will be to re-format the hard drive, as the computer is rebooting within 30 seconds of each start up as well as safe mode.Is there any way for me to browse the hard drive on the laptop without loading up the OS, to transfer to another laptop/external HD?I have a couple of really vital documents (only 10mb worth), although the laptop reboots before I have the chance to transfer them to a USB stick. If there was a way to transfer these files, I would be more than happy to re-format the laptop.

I was checking emails today and I got a blue screen of death on Windows 7. I didn't take a screen capture, however the error message had to do with winSys32.exe, and then the usually memory dump messages. I rebooted into safe mode and tried running Spybot, but it came up with an error, so I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes anti-malware. It found 5 problems and I deleted them. I then ran Avast and it found no infections. Figuring it was a malware problem, I rebooted. Now Windows won't load. It gets to the Welcome screen, then goes to a blank black screen, with a mouse cursor. The cursor can be moved. I powered down the computer, pulled the battery, and booted it back up. This time I got a black screen, saying my disks had to be checked for inconsistencies. I ran the scan and it found no errors. Windows started to load, then stopped at the blank black screen again. I have my laptop set up with Ubuntu 11.04 on a sperate partion and I have not any problems with it, so I think the issue is related just to Windows, not hardware. My laptop is an Asus g72g, with an Intel Core 2 duo processor @ 2.53ghz, 6 gigs of ram and an Nvidia graphic card. Other then adding Ubuntu I have not done any upgrades to the system. Windows 7 was a installed at the factory, not an upgrade, and I haven't added any software in 6 months or so.

I been working a a friends netbook for about 2 weeks now and I can't seem to find a fix to the problem. Once I got Windows 7 on it but when my friend started putting music on it it crashed. So then after that I installed Ubuntu on it and that worked for a little bit but it still crashed. Then I installed Windows 8 on it and it worked for fine for a few days then it quit working. So I decided to install Windows 7 back on it and after it dose a complete install where the screen should install the drivers I got a short blue screen then the netbook restarted. So now when you boot it up it try's to load windows but after it bets passed loading it restarts the computer. The netbook is a Asus Eee PC 1001p.
