View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a program to get all of my personal data organized. I know there are plenty duplicate file finder apps out there, but what are your experiences with them? I'd love to find one that will show me duplicate pictures, even if renamed. It would be even better if it easily allowed me to specify a directory to put all of the duplicates in...so they can be removed from a drive. I probably don't need to worry about other types of files, as it is just my photos that would have duplicates.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLong time XP user and I just starting using Windows 7 beta. I really like it so far. Except there's a few things I can't figure out.
I'm trying to connect to my own Wifi Network and it has WEP encryption (I know I should use WPA but for now, let's say i'm stuck with WEP), Windows 7 keeps prompting me for a user name, password after I already entire my WEP key. WHY??? XP never asked me for that. I tried the admin password for my router, didn't work. What is with this new "User name, password" requirement?
Please help. It's really frustrating. The only way around it is to manually add network. There must be something I'm doing something wrong.
my laptop automatically logs on to my wireless router. i changed the password and now the laptop tries unsuccessfully to logon with the old password. how do i find the box to enter the new password manually or change the automatic password to the new one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the title states, each time I reboot my PC it will not automatically connect to my router unless I manually input the password. When I goto the connection propeties and view the password that`s saved it`s only saved the numeric portion of the wireless password. For example, if my wireless password is love123 upon reboot it only states 123 in the wireless connection properties. I tried going into the wireless and network sharing screen then manage wireless connections and completely removing and reentering the wireless connection/password but the same issue persists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently suffered a trojan virus attach and ultimately have changed my password on my email server.I have tried to reset it to the new password in Windows mail multiple times. It keeps reverting to the old password as the saved password, and I continually have to retype in the new password. I tried resetting the password to nothing, and rebooting, and the old password comes back again. There must be a preference file or an ini file that I can edit. Can I do that without loosing my address book, etc.?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've always thought of networking as one of the black arts.
4 PCs - One Vista, 2 Windows 7 Home Premium, 1 Windows 7 Ultimate. All see each other. All have appropriate folders shared.
Try accessing A from B and I get "Enter Network Password (to connect to B)". I never set one up to start with, so why is it asking me for it. How do I access/change something I never set?
Try accessing B from A - I see the PC, and the folders I want but trying to access them results in "You do not have permissionto access folder names Contact your network administrator - who he? Obviously me but I don't know what the answer is!
Trying similar things with the other two PCs in the mix results in various permutations of the same problem.
I have tried all the various links suggested through Networking and Help, but most of the actions seem to be boxes to click to make the PCs try to sort themselves out. When it fails I can't find a manual way of trying to sort it out.
Any suitable tutorials that may help? Couldn't see any.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn a few days time I will be changing my ISP in the UK from Sky to BT.
BT are providing me with their newest wireless router free of charge as part of the deal and I'll be using that to set up my wireless network, which will consist of an HP Pavilion desktop, a Toshiba laptop, a Sony Vaio laptop, an HP wireless printer and a Samsung HDTV.
This means my Sky wireless router is surplus to requirements, so I was wondering if I could convert it to a wireless access point to improve the range of my BT wireless network.
I've read a couple of supposedly easy-to-understand articles on Google and have to say they left me more confused than ever.
My computer fail to connect wireless after changing window. When I troubleshoot it tales wireless capability is switched off. I tray to click key fn F8 but no respond.
