Jun 13, 2011I just put a fresh installation of Windows 7 on my PC, I have the latest drivers, and the graphics card worked with Windows XP before I changed the OS. I am currently working off of the on-board graphics via VGA, but when I try to plug my monitor into the nVidia card with the DVI (same monitor, different source), the "Screen Resolution" window doesn't recognize the 2nd input. I also cannot get any signal from the card if I boot up with either cables plugged in.I don't see anything in the device manager or in the HWiNFO32 program I have that throws any red flags. It appears to be working fine. And BIOS doesn't have any settings that should be interfering with the card working properly

Dec 15, 2011I've just got a new graphic card, MSI nVidia GeForce 8400 GS 1gb, and everytime I try to boot up with the card inserted, then windows freezes @ "Starting Windows" screen...So when the 8400 GS card is in my pc, then Windows simply wont boot up. I can go to F8 menu, and choose safe mode, but it freezes @ CLASSPNP.sys.I can boot up @ onboard, and every gfx drivers are deleted (I did not use driversweeper, but i used CCleaner to remove the last .reg files), but it still wont boot up in Windows, when the 8400GS card is in...Even though i disable the onboard function in BIOS, it still wont boot up with the 8400....

CPU: Intel Quadcore 2.4 GHz
Earlier GPU: nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 1 gb (deleted all nvidia drivers before inserting the new one)

Feb 16, 2012I am running Windows 7 (x86) on a desktop and have 2 gigs of Corsair DDR2 RAM (800mhz) installed. I also have a spare 2 gigs of cheaper DDR2 RAM running at only 667mhz. If I add the extra RAM am I right in thinking the faster RAM will run at 667mhz? Is the performance boost of double RAM going to outweigh the loss in speed from 800mhz to 667mhz? Do you think it is worth adding the extra 2 gigs?

So 8gb in total.At first no problem, the motherboard recognize all 8gb with the Memory remap function 'on'The problem is that it recognizes it has PC-5300 and not PC-6400 (as it should cause they are)- So is there a way in the bios to make it that my motherboard recognize them has PC-6400 (800mhz) ? Other thing, Even though i am sure i bought exactly the same memory, in the sandra report, the 2 pairs are different.

4GB DDR2-1066 Installed... Windows 7x64 Not Booting?
Jul 7, 2012I have four identical 1GB sticks of G.Skill PC2-8500 memory, and I cannot seem to get Windows 7 to boot with all of them installed. I am using a ASUS Rampage Formula board in which I have successfully used 4GB of PC2-6400 memory in the past. I've done a BIOS update to the latest version and still Windows will not boot. I know the RAM sticks are good and I can use any of them in a 2 to 3GB configuration, and load Windows fine, but once 4GB installed it will hang at the loading screen and throw a quick BSOD (much to quick to read any info); then just restart.This is a 64-bit OS so I have no idea why this isn't working, but it's obviously a Windows side issue. The hardware is good and no BIOS settings affect the hang or crash.
Safe Mode does not work with 4GB installed either and I cannot seem to set any maximum memory settings using MSCONFIG. Windows also states that only 2.00GB is usable which isn't right either... I installed the OS several months ago with only 2GB installed, but I figured adding another 2GB, using identical modules, would work just fine. At first the board didn't seem to like it but flashing BIOS seemed to help fix any instability.'ve never experienced this problem before...*EDIT*Blue Screen info is as follows:PFN_LIST_CORRUPTSTOP: 0x0000004E
G-force 8400 Gs Driver Failed?
Nov 29, 2012just built a Supermicro system dual Xeon 604 cpu's used my video card (pci) in one of my pci x slots have tried many settings both in bios and slot configuration but my pc will just randomly re boot with no warning, every now and then I will see the BSOD that will say time out trying to load display driver, I see many people having similar issues with this card. time for a new card? running win 7 64 bit ran fine on my SOYO board that is now dead with same OS. no one has a possible solution? well for me it's not worth the aggravation. going to get an ATI dual monitor1 gig and see how that runs. figure with all the issues so many are having it must be a g force/windows/Intel incompatibility issue

Nov 19, 2009I have 2 new computers using Windows 7 (laptop x32 and Quadcore x64). Installing web-based drivers for my 2 Xerox Phaser 8400 DP network printers is ok, but prints are not.
First after installation it only prints in basic b/w mode and not 100% the size (about 70%) of the original. It is like the printer uses A5 size standard and resizes everything accordingly. No paper size selection and/or print quality selection is possible. Now it seems I have to manualy set the configuration in the Xerox driver screen to Phaser 8400, and that solves the problem with print quality. I can now print in color also. But not in the right size or other paper types.
Xerox says only to help (level 2) if I have a service contract. I do not need this contract (no issues ever with the printer ever I could not resolve myself)) and do not want to pay for issues Xerox should resolve anyway...

Dell Dimension 8400 Network Driver Missing
Dec 25, 2009I am using win XP and had to wipe. I was missing various drivers so I got them off the Dell site. Seems installation order is important, so I think I followed the correct order (tried multiple orders when was still missing a network controller). I have all installed except the wireless controller.
I am able to use internet via ethernet hard wire but can't find the controller for wireless. I used a driver elvaluation site to get the controller I need, but when I downloaded the controller from this site and going directly to the manufacturers site, there isn't an executable file to load the driver. Any suggestions?

Sep 4, 2010I have a Dell 8400 and a few questions about upgrading to Win 7 64 bit. (I am a complete NoOb when it comes to installing an OS).
First my specs are...

I will have 2GB of this RAM Thursday with another 2GB of the same RAM the following week or the week after that. Corsair Dominator DDR2 Ram Memory PC-6400 800 MHZ [URL] After the RAM I will be getting a new Graphics Card. Also I have a spare 650 watt PSU if needed.
I ran the Window upgrade advisor and the only things it flagged was (of course) that I only had 512MB of RAM and outlook express. It did say custom installation required, whatever that means.
1. My first question to everyone is, can my Dell even run Windows 7 64-bit?
I googled around and it seems possible.
2. My second question is can I install it with the 512MB of RAM I have now?
3. My last question is can I install this along side XP on my HD?
4. My third question is does anyone know of a good very detailed step by step Noob guide for installing it next to XP?
I have never installed an OS before and if it does not work I am screwed!
I do know it is better to do a fresh install and no I cannot by another HD right now, I know they are cheap but I will be scraping together all I have just for the RAM and Graphics card.
My problem is that, I really only have the time to do this over the long weekend and cannot wait for the RAM to get here.
The guy on e-bay is a clown and did not ship it when he was supposed to and it will not be here in time.
I just need it up and running and can add the RAM as it comes but I am under a serious time constraint and if I don't get this done now over the Memorial day weekend it will be a long time before I have enough time to do this.
