I need to find out how to set the Function keys on y Samsung R540 (Laptop running Win. 7)...especially the volume keys (F6)I am not smart enogh to know what category this falls under and it won't take my question without me filling that in...so I am just going to guess it. Sorry I don't know the answer to it.

when the updates were done it prompted me to restart which i did. when my laptop rebooted i got an error (ill post up a pic of it in a bit) now when i tried to change my brightness using the function keys they dont work

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy specific problem is i have pressed some key combination on my vaio fw11m laptop, and the keys on the right hand side of the keyboard - u,i,o,p,h,j,k,l,b,n,m are now coming up as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 - when pressed. I have tried alt/fn/ctrl with some of the function keys to reverse this, but to no avail. I remember this happening once with a previous vaio 7 yrs ago, I cannot remember the key combination to correct it.

I don't know what happened she some how activated an option that I don't know how to turn off. Sometimes the laptop gets stuck and then none of the keys or the mouse works. Yesterday I was watching a movie and the same thing happened but the movie didn't stop.
Today morning the laptop wasn't booting and then later I took out the battery and reinserted it and it worked. Are these two problems somehow related?

Sometimes when i type the letters turn into shortcut keys and when i am in the middle of an important school asignment I loose my work, because i can't do anything. I can use my mouse, but when i try to use my keyboard it is almost inoperable. I have even tried to use an external keyboard and the samething happens. I have used Rkill, malwarbytes, norton and ccleaner, but nomatter what i do it keeps happening. The only way i have been able to temperarily fix it is to restart the computer and the problem can come back in 30 minutes or it can come back in 10hours . it even happens when i play games.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung NP300E5A-A03US laptop, It has it's own interface for it's updates, it keeps telling me I need a bios update, I have called Samsung support, chatted with Samsung techs. I have done this update at least 15 times, 2 different ways. The tier 2 tech told me that I didn't need the update, He said why do you think that your computer needs a bios update,and I said, because I keep getting these messages that I need it, and it is in the interface as needed. He said, you don't really need it, I said, why does it tell me I need the update. He said ,is your computer ok?, I said, it has some performance issues, and it turns stuff on and off by itself.I have talked to at least 5 different people ,they all make me go thru the same steps. I keep telling them, this won't work, I have tried it ten times. They are starting to get rude. I googled bios updates and Samsung, and a lot of posts came up. Can someone help me and also to understand what bios is, it says it helps with computer stability.
